如何確認PRBS7 and D10.2
Prbs7是每127bits為一個週期, 連續不斷的一直傳送,所以當待 測物有正確傳輸出Prbs7的訊 號,你會看到是週期性的訊號.
D10.2的訊號,就像是一個clock 的訊號.

確認 data rate 2.7Gb/s and 1.62Gb/s for PRBS7 and D10.2
抓取到訊號後停下, 找到訊號中最小週期 抓取到訊號後停下, 將他放大後量訊號 頻率, 量到1.35GHz左右就是2.7Gb/s, 的”1010”, 將他放大後,量”1010”訊號 量到810MHz左右就是1.62Gb/s 頻率, 量到1.35GHz左右就是2.7Gb/s, 量到810MHz左右就是1.62Gb/s

測試所需設備
1. 示波器頻寬8G以上 ( DSO/ DSA 80804B, DSO/DSA 90804A ) 2. 探棒8G以上 ( 1168A, 1169A ),至少兩支 3. N5380A 探棒頭至少兩個 4. DisplayPort制具 ( W2641A )

探棒校正及設定
1. 將要校正Channel的正極部份接上Aux out, 負極讓它open, N5380A中間的SMA一定要接 0 ohm的short. 2. 在Scope選擇Setup->Channel 1->即會出現下面視窗, 點選Probe, 設定 Head Label ( Type )為N5380A differential, 點選 Calibrate Probe, Calibrated Atten / Offset and Skew,依序將其他Channel校正完.

Step 1 : 開啟DisplayPort software, Setup頁面右下角按 “ Next”
PS: 1. Physical layer tests就是Compliance test 要求電性測試的項目 2. Link layer Phy change tests是用來確認當link layer設定改變時, DUT 是否有做出正確的電性反應, 此項目不是必要的標準測試,是參考用.

Step 2 : 設定 DUT名稱及註解,按 “ Next “
Step 3 : 就標準測試你只要選 Test Mode為 “Compliance conditions only“, Test Type先選“Differential Tests“ ,按 “ Next “ PS : 標準測試有分 differential and singleend, 因為接線不同,所以要分兩次測.

Step 4 : 選擇測試 Lane個數, 一般是4 lanes 選擇測試 Bit Rate, 一般是兩個都有 選擇測試 Level, 一般測 400, 600, 800 選擇測試 PreEmphasis, 一般測 0 ,3.5 ,6 選擇測試有沒有含SSC,這個部份要問 chipset廠商跟Bios,看看DUT本身SSC狀態, always on選 Enabled always off選 Disable user可以自行選擇 on or off選 Both f. 按 “ Next “ a. b. c. d. e.

Step 5 : Connection Type因為使用探棒 所以選 differential probe. No of Channels就看你有兩支 探棒就選 2 Channels, 有四支就 選 4 Channels. 按 “ Next “
Step 6 : 如果選四個 Channels就一次接四 對 Lane, 如果只有兩個 Channels 一次就是測兩個 Lanes,要在這個 頁面設定這次要測哪兩個 Lanes, 最後按 “ Finish “

Step 7 : 按照 Step 6 所設定的 Channel 對應 Lane, 將 probe 跟制具接起來. 制具上標示的部份看 “ T “ 的部份 ,T0p就是 TX Lane 0 正極 , Lane0 跟 Lane2再同一面, Lane1 跟 Lane3 在另一面.

Step 8 : 點選 Select Tests 頁面,勾選全部測試 項目,如果之前設定是兩個Channel, 這裡的測試項目就只有兩個 Lane, 如果是四個Channel才有四個Lane.
Step 9 : 點選 Connect頁面, 確認接線是否正確, 勾選下方 “ I have completed these instructions “,然後按右邊的 “ Run Tests “
Step 10 : 當你看到 右圖畫面時先設定你的待測物 輸出軟體指示的條件, 確認訊號輸出無誤 後再按” ok “. 依序照著軟體指示完成 Differential tests.

Step 11 : 設定ATI / AMD待測物要先跟ATI / AMD要控制軟體,將待測物接上DP 螢幕,設定延伸螢幕,執行控制軟體. a. 設定 # of links b. 設定 link rate c. 按Enable Preferred d. 選擇測試條件400mV, 600mV 800mV, 0dB, 3.5dB, 6dB e. 按 “set” f. 選擇test pattern Prbs7, D10.2 g. 按 ”Enable” h. 你會看到DP螢幕有雪花畫面, 或是條紋畫面,才是有test pattern輸出.

Step 11 : 設定 Intel 待測物要先跟 Intel 要控制軟體,將待測物接上DP螢幕, 設定同步顯示,執行控制軟體. a. 選擇 “ Compliance ” mode b. 設定 link rate c. 選擇測試 lane 數目 d. 選擇電壓 400mV, 600mV, 800mV e. 選擇 0dB, 3.5dB, 6dB f. 選擇SSC on or off g. 按 “set” h. 選擇test pattern Prbs7, D10.2 i. 按 ”set” j. 你會看到DP螢幕有雪花畫面, 或是條紋畫面,才是有test pattern輸出.

Step 11 : 設定 Nvidia / Analogix待測物要先跟 Nvidia / Analogix要控 制軟體, 其控制軟體在DOS底下執行, 所以可以不需要DP螢幕
Step 12 : 如果你是四個channel同時測,完成Differential tests後,跳 Step 13 single-end tests, 如果你是兩個channel,你要回到 step 6, 將channel 改成未測的兩Lanes,完成剩下兩Lanes測試.

手動測試
Step 13 : 回到 Step 3 將 test type選成 ”Single-end test”, 重複Step 4, 5, 接下來設定 single-end “+” “-” 對應的 channel.有四個channel一次可以測 兩對,如果只有兩個channel一次就只 測一對.
Step 14 : 接線方式,都只接 probe “+”極, “-”極 open, 以step 13設定為例,將Lane0 “+” 接channel 1“+”,將Lane0 “-”接 channel 3 “+”.接下來重複 step 8,9, 10,11,完成single-end測試,接著再重複 step 13,14,完成其餘Lanes的測試.

自動測試
自動測試跟手動測試的差異在於,自動測試不需要自己去設定待測物,所有須要 改變的條件都透過Aux controller (W2642A)直接控制待測物.其他測試方法大略 相同,只是多了W2642A設定步驟. Step 1 : 設定W2642A IP “192.168.0.2” and subnet mask “255.255.255.0” Step 2 : 設定示波器 IP “192.168.0.1” and subnet mask “255.255.255.0” Step 3 : 將示波器跟W2642A用cross-over的 網路線連接起來,將DP cable接在 W2642A “ Displayport Rx “ port, 另一端接上制具,在還沒完全設定完 成前,不要將制具接上待測物.
