中得到教益，开阔了视野，推动文学创作呈现“百花齐放，百家争鸣”的局面。 二、所属领域发展状况: 19世纪末到20世纪二三十年代，英、法、美等国文坛上，—批作家不约而同地将创作视角由面向客观世界转向人内心的主观世界，并采用悖逆于传统现实主义创作方法的艺术表现形式，来展现常人视线不及的精神领域。读者在这类创作中不再借助文字的形象性功能进入到清晰、有序的故事“大观园”，而是在一种自由流动的意识导引下，通过依附于语言的表达来经历人类主观生命的世界。人们称这类创作为文学意识流。“意识流”一词本为心理学术语。1884年美国实证主义哲学创始人、心理学家威廉·詹姆斯（1842～1910）发表《论内省心理学所忽视的几个问题》一文，论述了意识活动流动不止的特点，首次使用了“意识流”一词。文中写道：“意识从来也不表现为被分割成碎块。在这种社会背景下流行开来的西方非理性哲学和现代心理学又为意识流文学创作提 供了理论依据。法国哲学家柏格森(1859~1941)非理性主义强调直觉是认识世界本体的唯一根据。他认为，世界的本体是“生命冲动”，即“意识的绵延”。19世纪末，法国作家埃杜阿·杜雅尔丹（1861～1949）发表了小说《被砍倒的月桂树》。该作因始终运用“内心独白”艺术手法，被后人视为意识流文学的先声。进入20世纪后，意识流文学家们将意识流创作方法加以完备化并使之走向成熟。至20年代前后，意识流文学进入兴盛时期。
