2 To write a complaint letter.

3 To talk about their ideal robot.

Step 1 Revision

Show students some pictures of a robot exhibition and ask students what a robot can do.

Step 2 leading-in

A)Discuss: what is your ideal robot?

1.Would you like a big robot or a small one?

2. What would you like your robot to do for you?

3.How long would you like your robot to work every day ?

4. How long do you think the robot’s batteries should last for?

5. How often should your robot need to be checked?

6. How long do you expect your robot to last?

7.What else should we care about?

Price, function(功能), model number, brand(品牌)….

B)Get students to describe their ideal robot.

C)Share my ideal robot with students.

My ideal robot is specially designed for me ,It is very small so that I can put it in my pocket .I will never worry about its batteries because it uses clean energy—solar batteries. It can work 24 hours every day. When I need it ,it will appear immediately. The most important it can do is to help me with my work. .It will never go wrong and I expect my robot to live with me forever.

Step 3 Presentation

1 Present the questionnaire and describe Daniel’s ideal robot..

2 Fill in blanks.

Daniel’s ideal robot is special. The model Number of his robot is HUGO123BB. It should be __________.The batteries should last for _______________. It should work for ________________ The most important thing his robot should do is to_________________. It should need to be checked ______________________________. Step 4 Practice

1 Complete Daniel’s complaint letter.

2 Finish the table using the information in Daniel’s complaint letter.

2 Describe Daniel’s present robot.

Step 5 Further study.

1 Get students to work out how to write a complaint letter.

2 Show students the outline.

Introduction: what? When? Not satisfied.

Main body: what are you not satisfied with?

Conclusion: the way to solve the problem.

Step 6 Homework

Last week, your parents bought a mobile phone for you. However, it stops working now. Can you write a complaint letter to the mobile phone company.
