外教与中国英语教师课堂中介作用的调查与对比研究[摘要] 本文以Feuerstein 的中介作用理论为依据,通过问卷和访谈的方式,

对高校中外教和中国英语教师对教师课堂中介作用的看法以及他们在课堂教学中实施中介的情况进行了调查对比分析,得出以下结论:中外教师在对教师中介作用的看法和实践上存在显著差异,中国教师对中介作用的意识水平明显低于外教,而且课堂实践情况也不如外教理想; 无论是中国教师还是外教都存在意识和行为不一致的现象;总体上讲,实践水平不如意识水平高。并提出了建构有意义的学习任务,培养学生自主学习和促进学生社会化发展的三条建议。

[关键词]中外英语教师课堂教学中介作用

一、引言

随着中国的对外开放和实际的需要,我国各高校引进不少外籍教师,为我国的外语教育的发展和人才的培养起到了重要的补充作用。而他们对课堂中介作用的看法和中介角色的扮演情况也是一个非常值得研究的问题。针对这种情况,笔者想就高校中外教师对中介作用的看法及实践情况进行调查和对比分析,希望能找出两个教师群体的优缺点,使其取长补短,从而促进我校的英语教学改革,对教师的教育研究有所帮助。

二、理论根据及前人研究成果

中介作用理论(Mediation Theory)是由著名的社会互动理论学者维果茨基(Vygotsky),布鲁纳(Bruner)及费厄斯坦(Feuerstein)提出的,是近几年来教育心理学和社会互动学的核心理论。Feuerstein认为儿童自出生就收到对他有重要意义的中介者的干预和影响。中介作用的实质就是在学习者的认知发展及学习过程中,中介者通过选择在他们看来合适的刺激,用他们认为最有利于促进学习的方式来显现这些刺激,并且干预和调整学习者对刺激的反应,通过解释来引导和鼓励学习者做出恰当的反应,从而使学习者的认知水平向更高的层次发展(Feuerstein et al.1980)。

Feuerstein et al. (1991) 指出, 教师或其他对学习者产生影响的成人可以通过多种方法实施中介, 并提出了12 种中介特征: 1) 让学生明白意图: 教师应让学生明白某个学习任务的意图并做出反馈。2) 重要性:教师须使学生认识到某个特定学习任务的意义, 使他们明白该任务对个人及社会的价值。3) 超越当前目的:除了解某个学习任务的当前目的外,学生还应了解该活动的深远意义。4) 培养胜任感:培养学生能够应对任何学习任务的自信。5) 行为自控:使学生有能力控制和规范自己的学习、思考与行动。6) 树立目标:培养学生制定现实目标和达到目标计划的能力。7) 挑战:使学生需要挑战, 寻求挑战。8) 认识变化:使学生有能力认识并评价发生在自己身上的变化。9) 相信积极的结果:使学生相信只要坚持不懈,总能找到解决困难的办法。10) 共享:使学生懂得,学生与教师、学生与学生之间的积极合作是更好地解决问题的方法。11)个性:承认并注重学生的个性与独特性。
