Failure Leads to Success

姓名赵思凌四川省绵阳市东辰国际学校 2007级4班级准考证号 282

Staring at my marks, I was trembling. The highlighted ‘50’ was like explosions in the sky (a bolt from the blue) , which suggested I was (去掉) utterly failed. However, to my aston ishment, my mother didn’t keep a straight face with my paper in hand. Slowly she said, “It’s compulsory to face the music, boy. Always remember: Failure leads to success.” Ever since then, I committed those words to memory to stand up again after failure.

My dear friends, failure is not dire. What is (去掉) really awesome is giving yourselves over to the bad mood after failure. It’s a common sense that everybody wants to end up in success, so sparing no effort to work hard becomes a corollary. In history, examples of peoples who succeeded after failure were as many as stars can be (去掉).

For instance, Edison was kicked out of school on account of his bad grades. However, he immediately overcame the sadness and committed himself to scientific invention. Then, as we all know, he became the greatest inventor after failure and was universally highly though (thought) of. From this, we can see, failure never defeated Edison. On the contrary, failure turned into the power of his success.

On top of that, I want to mention Alert Einstein, whose life was c onsidered a downright failure by his teachers. Alert’s teacher used to maintain that he (the boy) was too iconoclastic and inevitable to become a philistine. Alert took a very view of that. He developed his interest in physics and tried his best to do research on some moscopolitan (cosmopolitan) problems. At last, his “Theory of Relativity” made the world convinced that he was successful.

Depending on my personal experience and emotional concern, failure is totally the darkness before dawn. if (If) we pull ourselves out of the black abyss, we will see the sun shining above the horizon.”God helps those who help themselves.” Only when we help ourselves in (out of) failure, it eventually leads to success (can we eventually achieve success).

Failure and Success

姓名王峥山东省青晶市第二中学校二、14班级准考证号 32

An ancient Chinese adage says, “Failure is the mother of success”. It tells us that failure teaches people how to succeed. Th ose philosiphers (philosophers) are always right. No one is a winner for life-long, and thus everybody, even the most successful ones, has failed in sake of (for the sake of) various reasons.

The story of Mr. Abraham Lincoln, the previous president of America, offers us a proper example. Mr. Lincoln started his political journey in his early 20 (20s), but the fate tricked him. Among his first ten attempts of running for elections for political positions like (去掉) Senator and (or) the Head of the State, Mr. Lincoln only won once, and then numerous failures stepped up after that. But he never stopped. Finally, in his 50 (50s), Mr. Lincoln became the president of America. His failures led to his success. All the valuable experiences, including the mistakes, showed him how to succeed. Then, it is obvious that failure can help not only Mr. Lincoln but also everyone to gain experiences and to avoid mistakes. Thus success comes.

Despite the reason described in the above paragraph, another subtle one also serves to the topic. Failure forces people to explore new means to success. KFC is a case in point. As everybody knows, KFC’s origins were in America, but it was not as su ccessful as McDonald. But when KFC came to China, it became popular in one night (overnight). People, especially kids, loved it. KFC has found its new way in China. Situations must be the same to everyone if they explore new things in their failures.

Taking into account all the relevant factors that affect and contribute to the topic, we may safely conclude that, failure, indeed, leads people all the way to success.

Failure and Success

姓名韩金延北京市中国人民大学附属中学学校高二13班级准考证号 379 Thomas Edison, one of the greatest scientists ever happened to (in) the world, had experienced failure many times, more than we can ever think of. In inventing the light bulb, he tried more than 2,000 materials, yet they all failed. Though this might be enough to deprive the hope of success from anyone, it didn’t discourage Edison. He went on trying until he find (found) the right material. He achieved success after thousands of times of failure (failures).

In real life, we all have to experience failure. Nobody can be successful all his life without meeting even one downfall. We may feel happy when we succeed and are sad when we fail. However, the important thing is that we shouldn’t be discouraged o r give up hope when we meet failure. Failure is always on our way to success, yet we have to overcome that difficulty to achieve our goal.

Jay Chou is a good example. Everyone knows the singer Jay Chou now, but only a few years ago, he was just an ordinary musician who wrote songs for other singers. His music wasn’t accepted at first because it was regarded as “wierd (weird)”. Jay, however, didn’t give up. He continued with his music until success finally knocked at the door.

Stephen Chou (Zhou Xingchi) is another persistant (persistent) man not discouraged by failure. Before he became a world figure, he could only play small parts in films. What’s more, his acting skills weren’t recognized by his fellow actors. The many (去掉) times of failure and the (去掉) difficulties he faced were unbelievable. Stephen, however, didn’t give up. He held on to his dreams until the days of glory finally arrived.

Failures are unavoidable if we are to succeed. We should be adamant enough as not to be discouraged, persistant (persistent) enough as not to give up and diligent enough to overcome the barriers of failure. If we can do that, we will find that success will light our way.

Beat Them!You’ll Win

姓名梁毅超北京市中国人民大学附属中学学校高三11班级准考证号 355

As many say, failure is the origin of success. People are usually delighted when achieving success. But they may feel sad and discouraged when facing failure. This seems to be usual. However, in my opinion, only when we treat failure as good experiences can we make a difference.

First of all, to my mind, sadness and disappointment are senses of weakness. A brave man should keep going on when running into difficulties or problems. For instance, Stephen Hawking was diagnosed with a serious disease only a few days after his 21 -year-old birthday. It (插入was) said that he would die in several months. Facing disability and death, he went on doing his research. As disabled (Disable as) he was, he used a wheel chair and a laptop to keep track of others. In the long run, he finished his book (A Brief History of Time). As we all known (know), Dr. Hawking struggled against his fortune and get (got) success at last. We should always keep in mind that beating failure is to achieve success. The more failure you experience, the more you can learn.

As far as I am concerned, being confident is also essential to achieve success. Confidence to a man is (插入what) gas to a car. If you are facing a great challenge, telling yourself “I can do that” is a significant way to inspire yourself. You’ll feel gett ing stronger insensibly. Trust yourself, thus you can conquer anything with an iron will.

Everyone is willing to achieve success, while the way (插入of) treating failure is a notable problem as well. Achieving success is not without’risk. That means facing failure, you’d better regard failure as good gifts, or else you may not get over it. To sum up, you should beat the failure, then come (comes) the success. Don’t be frightened with failure!Beat them, and you’ll win! Attitudes towards Failure and Success

姓名逮秋月山东省章丘市章丘四中学校高二·7班班级准考证号 321

It’s no exaggeration to compare our life stage to a battle field which is loaded with both failure and success. From cradle to grave, people from different levels of life, almost everyone has to experience different kinds of battles: the competitions between students, between businessmen, even between countries, etc. As a consequence, we will face not only success but also failure. From the point of my view, proper attitudes should be taken towards failure and success.

Most often, when we are successful we are happy. After all, competition means that one do (does) one’s utmost to reach for things which are wanted by others, blow that you are successful, it means that you are the winner. So to speak, everyone dreams of succeeding and it’s common to be happy if your dream comes into reality. However, jus t as an old saying goes: Pride goes before a fall. We mustn’t sink our self (ourselves) into the world of flowers and congratulations. Come down to earth, more things of the essence remained to be done yet. History abounds with the example of that. Qing Dynasty fell behind other countries on account of its ridiculous satisfaction. It closed its window to the world and no foreign trades were allowed. Finally, it was beaten by western countries.

Thus, we must be aware of the circumstances and can’t be to o proud of ourselves. Meanwhile, as failure is unavoided (unavoidable) in our life, more attention should be paid to failure.

First and foremost, we must absorb lessons from our failure. One mustn’t fall in the same place twice. Just as a proverb goes: Fall in a pit gain in your wise (A fall into a pit, a gain is your wit). Besides, everyone makes mistakes. Someone has said that show me a man who never makes mistakes and I will show you a person with two heads. That is to say, it’s undeniable for one t o make mistakes and failure is a piece of dish that everyone must taste, despite (although) you are reluctant to face it. As a result, positive attitude (attiutdes) should be taken towards failure. Failure is the mother of success. Only if you are aware of that, you will succeed in the end. As is known to all, Napolon (Napoleon) is considered as the greatest person in France. He had experienced numerous wars before he succeeded. I remember that he once said, “You can never find ‘ failure’ in my dictionary. “ Yes, he succeeded and he never regreted (regretted) for what he had done. Keep in mind that there is only one winner, but everyone should strive for it. Most often, the obstacle to success is not our failure, but is our fears. If you failed, cheer up, everthing (everything) will be OK.

All in all, no matter it is sunny or cloudy, as long as we take positive attitudes towards it, success will finally come. Confidence is the first step to success. Come on, we are the best.

Failure and Success

No one can avoid being influenced by failure and success. As far as I know, there are countless people, who enjoy a high level of reputation, suffering from a great deal of failure and success. Actually, the road of Life is twittered (littered) with boulders and pitted with holes. It seems the same that life is filled with failure and success, making it more and more colorful .Because of them, the life is a long wonderful word.

As (插入the) saying goes that no cross, no crown, failure always wins respect of many great scientists, for it adds color to the dull routine of everyone’s life. For example, Madam Cuie (Madame Curie) suffered a large number of sufferings, achieving her goals. Eventually, she won the Nobel (插入Prize). Though it’s possible to measure the value of material goods in terms of money, it’s extremely difficult to estimate the true value of failure, for it maybe marks the prelude to a series of success.

Obviously, success is a shining star sought by a great many people. Some people hold a view that achieving one’s goals is the only success that matters. Frankly speaking, achieving one’s goals is just a personal success. Whether or not it is accepted by so ciety depends on what the goals are and what the ways are. If your success is built on another’s suffering, it’s not only unacceptable, but also immoral. In the light of this statement, Making (making) a contribution to society is the best way to enjoy success, for your efforts and values are appreciated by society, so you will be successful in the eyes of the public.

In the final analysis, failure is connected to success, and they exert a great influence on us everyday. As a result, the more the

failure we suffered, the more (greater) the suc cess we gained. So, come on, everyone, let’s be greed of (greedy for) failure so that we can possess a colorful future filled with flowers!

As the saying goes, “Failure is the mother of success.” l think one of the most important lessons in our life is to learn how to get success from failure.

One who is in the flower of his youth must go through stages when he fails. Some people feel sad whereas others feel it (去掉) worthy. Attitude counts everything. It can change one in a matter of moments. We must believe failure is not an end but a means to an end. We should learn to get success from it.

Then we will find that failure is a beacon, illuminating one’s soul, lending brightness to one’s being and leading one to suc cess. It is also an angel, bringing us all the quantities (qualities) we need to achieve success.

In short, nothing can hold back an active attitude and failure is the freshness of the deepest springs of life.

When we get low marks, we should do my (our) best to change the situation by virtue of thinking twice. When we aren’t eapable of achieving goals we must als o develop our ability by gaining experience. That’s why the famous inventor, Tomas Edison, achieved success and was at the top of science mountains (at the peak of science and technology). He believed that a thousand mistakes are for one success.

In a word, we must give full play to our failure. Success is having the courage to get something without being defeated. May our homeland become more and more thriving with our ability to get success from failure develop.

Find a Way Out

On roads of life, everyone is chasing his dreams. Sometimes you’re ahead, sometimes you’re behind. You must be happy when you succeed and you may be sad when you fail. And I do believe as long as you ha ve a strong will and hold on to the end, you’re sure to succeed.

Have you lever seen the epic movie The Lord of the Rings? It was a wonderful trilogy. And the journey of Frodo and his fellows impressed me. When given the task, Frodo was afraid. During the journey, he learned a lot from the wise wizard, Gandalf. And later, he suffered a lot more (去掉), such as losing friends, getting run after by swordsmen and so on. But all these didn’t stop him because he had a strong will and he told himself again and again that he had to destroy the Ring. Although, in the end, he didn’t do it himself, I think he was still a hero.

And next (Another) my own meandering experience also shows so. When I was in junior middle school, my English was poor. Since I didn’t have any basic knowledge, I had to learn all these from scratch. It was difficult for me to hold on and I was once in total despair. Then I read a book, on which it says, and I quote, (which says,) “The race is long, and, in the end, it’s only with yourself.” It really cheered me up, and from then on, I made up my mind to learn English well. Several y ears passed, and now I’m sitting in this classroom, attending this exciting competition. It proved my success, didn’t it?

We often suffer setbacks in life. The question is how to find a way out. A strong will and perseverance will help you. And here is a wonderful lyrics for you to remember, “When the night is overcome, you may rise to find the sun. “

Failure and Success

姓名褚汉安徽省蚌埠市铁中学校高二(4)班级准考证号 367

In modern society, competitions are taken places (exist) everywhere, and increasingly make people feel nervous and anxious. People in every field are forced to face the failure and success. One of the NBA m ottos says, “Go hard, or go home!” It seems that the distinction between failure and success has become the only destination of our life. However, in my point of view, failure or success is not that important.

200 years ago, Napolean, empiror of France, (Napoleon, the emperor of France,) was defeated in “Waterloo”, Which is now used to describe “a great failure”. No one dare say he is a loser. Instead, he was regarded as an eternal hero not only in France, but also in the world. There’s no denying tha t he is a powerful men, and he brought his totally new ideology of freedom and liberty to nearly the entire Europe. He sought the end of tyranny and dictatorship on the ancient land. He desired to built (build) up a civilized nation in Europe, even in the world. Tile three laws made by him enabled all the kings to fear and shiver, because the laws marked their days would soon come. What’s more important, his laws gave birth to the modem system of civil rights.

In common with him, Xiang Yu is a failure hero in China. Fail (Failed) as he is, he becomes an original hero in Chinese culture. He ended his life with a sad but romantic legend, which, for thousands of years, has been winning a nation’s respect and memory. And this changed an ancient principle that the winner is a king, the loser is a crown (the loser a bandit).

U. S. president George W. Bush once said, “Before history was written in books, it is written in courage. “Truely (True) it is,(插入and) the legends of the heroes, from both (去掉) west and (to) east, have proved it. One should care about what he did, not the result will be (去掉). Everybody completes his own tasks and work, That is enough.

At this time last year, I was sitting in the same classroom and taking the same test. Unexpectedly, I got a (an) excellent result. And this year I came here again, not only want a result for the (a) second time, but a (an) experience for the (a) second time.

Because I strongly believe that life is not a destination, but a journey. So work like you don’t need money, love like you have never been hurt, dance like no one’s watching, and toke exam like there is no failure or success. (本句受汉语思维影响太大,建议改为: So enjoy the sense of achievement in work, not the pay; enjoy the sense of beauty in love, not the possible hurt; enjoy the sense of

rhythm in dance, not the peculiar sight from others; enjoy the sense of excitement in exam, not the final result. )

Failure and Success

姓名王毅纯甘肃省金昌市永昌县第一高级中学学校高二(2)班级准考证号 50 Every coin has two sides. That is to say, one thing has two kinds of results, When we try to do something, we may succeed, and we may fail as well. Most often, we are happy when we succeed in doing something. If we fail, we are sad, and most of us even think that we are useless or the god is not fair. But now we should realize that failure is not as frightening or terrible as we thought before, (插入and) it is just a small stone we meet when we are on our way to success.

As is known to all, many world-famous people have experienced failure. But do you know what did they think and what did they do when they failed? Now, let me give you a (an) example.

Bill Gates, one of the richest people in the whole world, has his own viewpoint about failure and success. When Bill Gates was young, he was very interested in computers. But at that time, computers were very large machines, so he had a lot of difficulties when he studied these huge things. Although he spared no effort to do the research, he failed many times. He felt very sad, however, he found himself lucky. Because he found out the mistakes he had made from the failure. After that, he and his friends tried their best to make experiments, collect figures and study even harder. At last, he made his own software and program. He made the computer easier for people to use. He succeeded in making contributions to the development of his society and the whole world. And now, it is Bill Gates who runs one of the most famous and largest companies in the whole world—Microsoft.

From what has been said above, we can see what should we do when we experience fail (failure). First of all, we should realize that the fail (failure) is of great value. We must find out the reasons for our failure. And then, we should get ready to begin our long journey again and try our best to make our dreams come true. Besides this, we may grow up after the failure. That is just the most important. Only in this way, will we make ourselves successful.

Generally speaking, the most important point is not the fact that you have failed but what should we do when we fail. If you are sad all the time, you can’t succeed at all. So, study harder and spa re no effort to realize your dream. On our way to success, we should remember:” We are the best!” And we should believe we are able to reach the top we want. If so, we will get the real success. Failure and Success

姓名王阳阳山东省潍坊市第七中学学校高二、二部十班级准考证号 24

As is known to us, in our daily life, We often meet failure and success. Facing with (去掉) this, what should we do? As far as I am concerned, we should have an (a) usual mind. Facing with (去掉) success, we should have confidence; facing with (去掉) failure, we should know the shortage and then improve ourselves.

When facing (faced) with success, we should be happy and confident. After all, we can do this well and we should have the reason that we should do everything well if we put our heart into it. At the same time, we should have a next aim that we should struggle for. Only in this way can we do better on everything.

On the opposite, what should we do if we fail? We should not be sad and unconfident. As the famous going says going (sating goes) :”Failure is not frightened (frightening), (插入and) what frighten (counts) is we don’t know how we can do to face it. “ We must know that when we fail, it is high time that we should take measures to correct the mistakens (mistakes). A successful people (man) must be a people (man) who is good at correcting shortages.

As it is stated at the beginning, we can be sure that most people have experienced failure and success. We know that in our long life in the future, we may meet anything. Certainly, among them something may make you satisfied or not. But, we must know that if we realize our aim that we long for, we are successful. If not, we have to do better to do well and then be successful. When all the factors are taken into account, we can reasonably come to the conclusion that failure and success are both what to make us do everything better.

To sum up, we should have an (a) usual mind to face up to the failure and success. Only by this means can we improve ourselves. Failure and Success

姓名唐艺丹山东省济南市外国语学校高一·9班级准考证号 288

Being successful can bring us much happiness. But we are always sad if we fail. We look for success everywhere, though failure is waiting for us in the way. I think it is necessary for people to experience failure.

It is known that Lincoln, the president of america (America), was from a fairly poor family. This father, who was a farmer, couldn’t give him much money. So it was very difficult for him to be an official. But twenty years passed, he finally became a big potato in America. People was (were) encouraged by his speeches and his spirit would live on forever.

These (There) won’t be a beautiful rainbow unless it rains. We are always eager for success and become afraid of failing. If we treat failure as a kind of treasure, life will become easier and happier. Helen Keller, an American girl, was stricken with a fever and became both blind and deaf when she was a little child. From then on, she always failed to communicate with others and failed to express her own feelings. Luckily, she would never give up studying. There can be miracles if one works harder than anybody else. Few years later, Helen managed to write books to encourage people. Nowadays, everyone knows that there is a blind girl whose dreams were realized through her hard work.

When you fail, think of Lincoln the president and Helen the blind girl. They are always there to guide you, and so are many other people who experience much failure before success.

I think failure and success are just like (插入on/off of ) the light in the refrigerator. Every house has one, but nobody really know (knows) what either of them will do when the door is shut. May be we can benifit (benefit) from it, may be we’ll fall in full rout.

We live in such an affluent society. Every soul has experienced a lot even though we are still young (18 years on around), but we really grow with failure and success. And actually, we have learnt to be mature from them. And I have three opinions on this topic.

The firstcoming opinion is the every one have (has) experienced both of them. In everyone’s life, they will meet a lot of challenges and opptunities (opportunities). Sometimes we succeed, but most of the time we must face to (去掉) the failure. When we succeed, we’ll cherish the apprieaite (admiration) from others, but what shall we do when we fail. Give up or to be more confident? That is the deciecive (decisive) difference between the successful man and the common people. So we should and must be optimistic when we are (去掉) fail and not to be too proud when we succeed. Helen Keller once said, “destiny (Desting) never close a door without opening another. “ Yes, destiny is really f air to every people. And as you know, there is an ancient story about an old man who lost his horse. May be the story is not true, but we must learn the spirit of him (in it).

The second opinion is that I think we can benefit both from failure and su ccess. Obviously we’ll become quit (quite) happy when we succeed, but from my point of view we can benefit even more from the (去掉) failure. Once a successful student in the entrance exam to university just told us that, as an examination, if you got a full mark, the exam is no use to you. It is a waste of time. May be there is some limits (limitation) in his opinion, but to some extend, it is true. So when we fail, we must go over the works and strengths in the process, and to be more confident, energetic and innovetive (innovative) in the next pursue (pursuit). Just like the sixteenth president of the U. S. A. Abraham Lincoln said: “Remember when life’s path is steep, to keep you mind even. “

And the last but the most important opinion is just a famous saying from the French poet La Foritain (Voltaire): No flowers road leads to success. “ So I want to say to all my company that don’t be too sad and exhaused (exhausted) when you fail. Try to hear from it (failure), and fit for it (fight for success).

Failure and Success

Most people have experienced failure and success. It’s te ns of thousands (插入times) of failure and success that make up our lives.

As is known to all, failure is the mother of success. Obviously, this sentence stresses the importance of failure. We should value failure. For one thing, lesson and experience can’t belong to us without failure. Failure paves the way for success. A large number of scientific inventions were made by those who experienced more trials and errors. Failure makes them appear and contribute to our society. For another thing, a colorful life needs to be decorated by failures. It seems that life would be pale just like a glass of water if there were no failures. In ancient times, only by many failure wars (after many unsuccessful wars) could the empirors (emperors) own their lands. It was also tears and pains that created their success. As a result, failure makes people become wiser and have more perseverance. Failure makes our lives more colorful. No wonder failure is the mother of success.

At the same time, we should treasure success. When we are successful, we should enjoy the happiness that success brings to us. Birds sing when flying up high in the sky, and snails feel excited when climbing up to the top of the pyramid, for they have given out their strength after all. When we succeed to achieve (in achieving) our goals, we shouldn’t leave any regret because we have worked hard all the way and success is the gift specially for us.

My dear friends, don’t be afraid of failure on account of its sad result. Don’t hide your success because of the pride it may bring to you. Failure and success are both the basie part of our lives. Regard them as the giving from the Cod. Treasuring them is the best way to thank the God!

Failure Leads to Success

姓名周菁华河北省石家庄市石家庄外国语学校高一(1)班级准考证号 238 Most of us have formed a picture that when people succeed, they cheer; when people fail, they tear. But have you even heard about a saying that failure can give rise to success? Have you ever thought that failure might be another lower (fresh) beginning which leads to success? Have you ever realized that when you come up to work again after failure, the failure could not be called as a failure again, it was just not success? (本句有语病) There is a good deal of truth in these ideas.

China is an oriental country which has a large population. There is no shortage of figures who succeeded after experiencing a thousand and one failures. Yu Minhong, our hem in this case is just one of them.

People who fail in the college entrance exam are often referred to as ones who could not have a brighter future that easily, for the simple reason that they cannot get further education. But Yu failed in the college entrance exam twice. He did not lose his heart. (插入Instead,) he cherished the hope that he could go to college, (插入and) he made many attempts. Yes, as a consequence, he went to Beijing University at his third attempt.

The idea that to carry (of carrying) on and don’t give (never giving) up the dreams after failure can give rise to magic situations, as it did in the case of Yu, the leader of New Oriental Corporation.

So we say that failure is not terrible, (插入and) the most terrible thing is that you dread failing. So you don’t want to try for another time. The result, success or failure, is not important. It is your attitude forwards the failure that influences you most. A fall in the pit, a gain in your wit. It is perseverance and confidence that you need after you fail. Get up when you are trapped by failure, and you will finally be greeted with considerable success. Failure leads to success. Believe in this, and trust yourself!

姓名王婷婷山西省太原市太原外国语学校高405班级准考证号 43

In one of Shakespeare’ s famous plays, Hamlet says: “To be or not to be, that is the question. “ Many of those who encounter (encountered) failure may cry, “Failure or success, that is the question. “ As a teenager, I want to say: “It is the attitude that we have towards failure and success that matters.”

We can take the well-known inventor Thomas Edison for an example. During his lifetime, Edison experienced numerous error (errors) and trials. When faced with failure again and again, he may have been desperated (desperate). Whereas, he would embark on experiments once again. The fruits were sweet. Edison beat failure and finally achieved success.

Another great man who has a wise attitude towards failure and success is Einstein. When he was in primary school, once the teacher asked the pupils to make little chairs with clay, little Einstein made an ugly chair which could not even stand and gave it to his teacher. The teacher scolded him and classmat es taunted him. However, to everyone’s surprise, Einstein said proudly: “It is better than the one I made just now, so I am successful “ What a great comment it was! Nobody can accomplish success easily. Bitter as fa ilure is, it is not a bad thing to meet with some difficulties on the way to success. Only when we counter (encounter) failure and learn to adjust the direction in which we make efforts can we move nearer to success.

On the contrary, if one gives up right (fight) after failure, he would surely achieve nothing. Success brings happiness undoubtedly, but failure offers a great chance as well. As long as we make full use of failure, there is plenty of treasure we can obtain. The sheer happiness will fade next to a tremendous chance.

With the discussion above, we may draw a conclusion that opportunities derive from failure and we should seize them to make huge achievement.

Failure and Success

Growing up is a complex process consisting of many factors, including failure and success. In most cases, people are sad and fragile when faced with the former and pleasant about the latter. However, as to the theme of failure and success, personally I am convinced that it is only the right attitude towards failure that can result in success.

Certainly no reason for my indication is more conspicuous than that a positive attitude enables us to triumph over failure. According to a surrey by New York Times, 20% of the millionaires in the U. S. attribute their success to failure experienced in early years. The overcoming of sadness shaped their personalities; the bitter tears and self-encouraging smiles toughened their minds; the remaining confidence after the shock of failure made them men.

Furthurmore (Furthermore), taking a positive outlook on failure keeps us away from trouble. As we know the past decade saw a sharp increase in suicide commitment (committing). No matter it was because of an unsuccessful business, examination or relationship (what the reasons may bean unsuccessful business, examination or relationship), the story was the same: it was the pessimistic attitude towards failure that led them to desperation. If we are able to smile in face of failure, we can easily keep away from the unwanted effects it might give rise to, and only in these circumstances can we continue on our way to seek for success.

Finally, the optimistic attitude towards failure assists us in concentrating heart and soul to reach our goals.

In conclusion, a positive attitude is what we need to make failure the gateway to success, because not only does such as attitude help us overcome failure, but also contributes in keeping us away from trouble and focus (focusing) on how to gain success. Therefar (Therefore), please take an optimistic outlook on failure while exerting our outmost (utmost) to seek for success, and there will be no future save (saving) a brilliant one.

Success Will Finally Come

As we walk along the paths of life, we enjoy, we grieve, tasting the sweet happiness of success, coming cross the bitter fatigue of failure. Glorious as success is (此句有逻辑错误,建议改成Success is so glorious that) every one desires to win. Nevertheless, as the proverb goes, “Nobody always wins. “

Nobody always wins. Then, should we abandon ourselves into despair when we fail? Should we feel drowning in the sea of losers facing the end of world? No! Absolutely no! Wake up, guys. Remember, failure is the mother of success.

Among the countless classic examples, I would like to take our distinguished scientist Madam Curie for instance. We all know, she is a woman (female) scientist born in Poland. Regardless of much resistance, she believed instantly that there was an unknown element and she named it radium. Due to the underprivileged techonoly (technology), it was an extremely hard task for her. She failed, again, and again... But, she was so determined that she paid no attention to failure, for she knew that success would finally come. And, success finally came.

As Marx once remarked, “There’s no royal way to success, only those who do not already fatiguing climb along the path can finally gain from lumi nous summits.” After failure, success will finally come.

Moreover, we live in such a modem world that many things have already blurred the deviding (dividing) line of (between) failure and success. It is complex but sometimes true (插入that) failure and success are interdependent and inseparable.

It is fairly wellknown that Thomas Edison was a remarkable inventor, but less known that he could hardly invent anything in his cast old days. For him, success came so easily and early that he became an exaggerate (arrogant) when his hair became gray. No matter what others suggested or conceived, it was all nonsense to him. He was too proud of his splendid success. He cared nothing but hoped to invent something to glomour (glamorize) his success more legendarily. But, he ended his dreams in vain. A man always won, lost at last.

As it illustrates, success doesn’t flatter the famous or authority. And failure doesn’t always follow someone if he becomes painstaking.

So, penetrate the phenomenon to study the essence right now. For the one who has sheer willpower, failure is just phenomenon and success is truly the essence. Success will finally come.

Failure and Success

Nature is a book full of records about failure and success. April showers bring May flowers—it is an example shared with farmers.

I didn’t understand it until I spent my holiday in the countryside three years ago. It was an April afternoon when the heavy rain came. The rain which poured down without mercy made all crops in the fields bend. Seeing the crops struggling between (插入the line of) life and death, I felt worried and upset. The crops had to suffer a lot before the harvest time, however, a heavy rain may lead their (them) to failure, although the step of success was closer. I didn’t want to think more, so I ran to the fields to see the poor crops i n the next early morning. To my surprise, all the c rops stood straight than ever. I suddenly understood the farmers’ smiling faces when the heavy rain came. “April showers bring may (May) flowers” -they know that what seemed a failure in April showers would bring them the successful flowers in May.

In fact, the example applies not only to the crops. It promises strength coming from weakness, smile bursting from tears, and success reborned (reviving) from failure. A failure in frendship (friendship) can lead you to a new friend. A failure in jobs can give you a chance to start a great career. For me, a failure in exam can be the inspiration to do better, if you remember that a failure is not a defeat but the inspiration to welcome a new success, you’ll overcome all the troubles and stand high on (at) the peak of your life.

What failure and success will finally be depends on your way towards it. Easy heart and hard work will lead you to success, while heavy pleasure and terrible work on the other hand.

“April failure bring May success!”(Failure in April may bring success in May!) Please come to nature to read this truth. You’ll forget the trouble of a failure and a season of success is around the corner.

Another Door is Open

姓名王金泽湖南省南方中学学校高二283班级准考证号 29

Beautiful are the moments when we are cheering for success, but how grey it is when success is replaced by failure. Expressly, where there is success, there is failure. It is a kind of inevitability. But,” W hen one door is closed,” as the old saying goes, “another will be open. Most of the time we ignore the open one, for we stares at the closed one too much. “

So I’d like to make an analysis.

To start with, let’s put the causes of failure-upset i n the first place. Surely, to reach a goal, we’ll all (去掉) do all we can for we all think that success is so important. Unavoidably, we’ll feel a universe of upsets when failure comes down. Why me? I’ve been s o hardworking! So the unacceptance (nonacceptance) when we’ve made so much effort becomes the root reason that shuting (shuts) our doors to success, but to cause pains.

For the sadness after failure, I’ve got some advice.

First and foremost, you’ve got to know that it’s no use crying over the spilt milk and rise up once again to face the music a nd get out of the blue. Undoubtedly, success is important and we are born to be successful. But it is not all about success that we’re fighting for. Life is a voyage, (插入and) the scenery along the way is also worth enjoying. Then I’d like to mention that we should find the open door, make effort, and then go into the door. Thinking from another angle, aren’t we reaching the success after failure?

Then I’d like to di scuss about the balance between success and failure.

Accompanied with success, failure seems to be a child which (who) is out of our plan. So why don’t we call it as a surprise? Surprise brings new comer to our life, like failure, and I always assume that it is the one that gives me the power to go on my journey, for I haven’t gain my success yet. If you comprehend this, then the balance between these two is easy to hold.

To summarize, my opinions are quite clear. Success is important but not as water; failure is horrible but not as devil. Absolutely, success-happiness is easier to handle while failure-upset is hard. Above all, I just want to ten that in this long journey, we can always find another open door and we will.

From Failure to Success

姓名雷蕾吉林省长春市东北师大附中学校高二七班班级准考证号 344

If there is no daytime at all, how can we know what is night? If there is no bitterness at all, how can we taste what is sweet? Then, if there is no failure ever, how can we experience the happiness of success? Nothing is coming out of nothing, (插入and) it is failure that demonstrates the most valuable success to us.

However, some people maintain that whether we are happy (插入or not)depends on what we have experienced, among which success is the right thing to be, and if we did everything perfectly, we would certainly be the happiest guy in the world. On the contrary, I am fully convinced that failure is what makes us feel real happiness. Through failure, we get to know better about ourselves and what we are doing now. It is obvious that the earlier we know one way is blocked, the earlier we would try another. Failure is the root for success.

Actually, I never remain suspicious of the point that everything has its own meaning for existing. Failure might makes us frustrated and feel bad, but as it is said—Man can be defeated, but never destrayed—failure is not a big deal, but to let us be stronger and wiser. What is more, the existance (existence) of failure is to show us the way to success, and to tell us if we did the same thing in another way. It would be much better. I guess this is why people called failure as the mother of success.

I can take it for granted that failure is a gift for us, a gift that lets us know what is success, how to be success (successful) and why we should appreciate success. Maybe the road ahead for success is not so easy, but failure will always leads a way for us. Like a guiding star.

The Way to Deal with Success and Failure

姓名段诚四川省成都市成都七中学校高二·二班班级准考证号 271

Life’s road (The road of life) is hard and steep. Throughout our efforts to ascend to the peak of our life, we often meet with lots of unexpected joy and sorrow (joys and sorrows). Sucess (Success) and failure seem to be inextricable. However, the result differs considerably in our life with different minds. This essay is mainly about how we should deal with them.

Success, which lies in the persistence, always helps (插入to) establish the confidence in one’s life. When an athlete surpasses a world record, the whole country will cheer for him. This makes a consistent improvement on the development of this sports event, Lin Xiang, takes as an example, whose (Take Liu Xiang as an example, his) success has made a significant contribution to the tracks games in China. It’s a truth universally acknowledged that success brings in strong power promoting an event, However, we can’t ignore that too much happiness may cause a side effect, making the winner loses (lose) himself in the glory and lives (live) in (插入the memory of) the past. We can’t deny that success may also mean a pause or even a permanent stop, This variation bases on the way we deal with success. The best way is that we just regard it as a result of the past instead of a beginning. Only in this way can we make a success a continuous sucess (one).

Oppositely, failure comes from the trials and errors. Thomas EIva Edison, whose experiments to invent a bulf (bulb) had come through nearly ten thousand times’ unsuccessful trials. Failure takes pe ople at a loss. Some may be caught in undertow and never stand up again. Scarcely (插入being) aware of what they get from failure, they quit and stop at the door of success. To quote an old saying, failure brings in success. It’s obvious that success comes from the persistence. To some extent, it’s the failure that means persistence. We ca n’t imagine how much failure (many failures) had Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela and Deng Jiaxian, Yuan Nongping got. Only admiring their success, we don’t observe their failure.

To sum up, though success and failure are mutually exclusive, we can’t just get the success without failure or always taste the bitterness without sampling the tasty (taste) of success. Winning is not everything. When she comes, we should remember the failure and throw away the glory. Losing isn’t nothing, and every failure means a new step towards the sucess (success). They’re just part of life. We should treat them calmly.

Growing: From Failure to Success

姓名周逸群上海市外国语大学附属外国语学校高二(1)班级准考证号 239 Living in this competitive world, none of us can avoid experienc ing success and failure. It’s certain that we all feel delighted when succeed. However, life is not always that pleasant. We also have to face failures.

From my point of view, there is no permanent failure. Thus, we can learn from the failure and grow through it. In that way, we will have a step nearer to success.

First and foremost, we gain experience from each failure, with which we can improve ourselves. Take Albert Einstein from (for) an example, he did have a hard time when doing researches. Faced with the successive failures, Einstein didn’t lose hope, on the contrary, he took a careful look on the former experiments to find (插入out) where the problem was. After several months of updating his methodology, Einstein declared his Theory of Relativity, leaving the whole world in amusement (amazement) and adorence (adoration). In scientific areas, there were a lot of people like Einstein. They learnt from the failures and succeeded.

Second, during the hard times, we strengthen our willpower and tolerance. We have to be strong when meeting the hardships. As a result, our character becomes tough. And this plays a significant role in gaining success. As is known to all, Si Maqian was a noticeable figure in Chinese history. In Si Maqian’s prime, he suffered a cruel sentence. All of a sudden, he lost his profession. But to people’s surprise, he didn’t surrender to the fact. He put more effort to his works. Later, he wrote a book full of the histories of t he dynasty, letting others have a vivid and c lear knowledge of Chinese history. Just because Si Maqian’s will power and spirit did he overcome the failures and made great contribution.

From the facts listed above, we can draw the conclusion that failtire is the condition (precondition) to success. By coming through failures, we get mature and more determined.

So, what is the right attitude towards failure? Naturally everyone will be down. But more crucially, you should NEVER GIVE UP ON OURSELVES (YOURSELVES). One thing is for sure: No one is born to lose! Never ever consider yourself as a loser just because one failure. Everything will be in the past. The point is to screw your courage and confidence, no matter how miserable your current life is. You are impossible to be a winner without beliefs in yourself.

To sum up, one should not only have an outstanding capability but also a spiritual quality in order to success (succeed). Through failures, we see where the trouble lies and are more possible to succeed at the next time. That is to say, we are growing through failures. With this mind, we are bound to say, “I came, I saw, I conquered. “ Proudly when we finally reach our destination!

Failure and Success

On seeing the marks on the test paper, Jack burst into tears at once, while Mike was very happy. Did Jack got a low (lower) mark while Mike’s high (higher)? No, in fact, they were of the same mark. But Jack thought he had failed again, (插入while) Mike thought he had made some progress. This phenomenon reflected two different attitude (attitudes) towards failure and success, also the attitude towards life.

As has been said thousands of times failure is the mother of success. We must realize that occasional failure or success doesn’t mean that one can (will) always fail or succeed. The road of life is always filled with challenges and opportunities, and at the same time, there also exist a large number of flowers and plenty of sunshine. Steven Hawking, the great scientist, explored the universe and achieved success with an incurable disease. If his disease is a failure in his life, then it fades next to the struggle of gaining success. So, we teenagers, full of energy, should never be defeated by failures.

Never be (being) defeated by failures and hold a (holding an) optimistic attitude doesn’t show us the ignorance of failure. Once we fail, we have to think the whole matter carefully. From my point of view, the failure can also tell us some important things. By asking ourselves why we failed and how can we avoid failures, we can find a proper way to solve the similar problems, and then turn failures into success. As has been mentioned above, life road is full of opportunities. But never dream of catching opportunities without hard work. There’s a famous saying, “opportunities are just for those who are ready to catch them. “ Nowadays, some people, inclu ding some teenagers, are always trying to take ch ances. Take we students as an example, some students don’t work hard except in the days when exams are drawing near, (插入and) it’s certain that they won’t get a satisfying mark at all. Ancient Chinese once said, “Train a soldier thousands of days, just for the use of a soldier in one battle. “ It is the same with study. Only by working hard can we receive fewer failures and achieve our goals.

From above, we can see the factors that lead us to succeed: being optimistic, never giving up, working hard and keeping our feet firmly on the ground. Holding these, we can turn failure into success and make our life road full of flowers and sunshine, then finally realize the value of ourselves.

Failure and Success

姓名武文钊辽宁省锦州市锦州中学学校 1、11班级准考证号 249

As we all know, no one can always succeed and no one will always fail. Sometimes, failure and success are not absolute. It all depends on what we do and how we look on this matter.

Success is sweet. How would you feel after a year’s hard work in the field if you get a good harvest? Of course, happy. How would you feel if you go to the university you have always been dreaming about (of)? Certainly, excited. Every one wants his or her dream to come true. Sometimes success is some kind of encouragement that is always driving you forward.

Failure is spicy. The first feeling is commonly sadness when we know that we have failed, especially after a long-term hard work. Some people may suddenly become thoroughly disappointed and low-powered. Finally, they can do nothing. But some other people may turn out to be strong after the failure. Finally, they will win.

As a matter of fact, failure and success can be both valuable if we adjust our views on this matter. For instance, we want to set up a company by ourselves. If we succeed and conclude some valuable experience, we will get prepared for the next challenge. If we fail and find out the reasons why we have failed, we won’t make the same mistakes in future. In this way, failure becomes valuable. In other words, we succeed on this point. On the contrary, ff we become too proud or too disappointed, we will be very weak when facing the next difficulty. Certainly, we will fail. So, sometimes, failure and success are not absolute.

We’ve known about the relationship between failure and success,(插入and) then what should we do in the future? In my opinion, we should try our best to deal with everything and we ought to make any proper sacrifice to make our dream come true. Don’t c are too much about the final result. Just do it with full perspiration and inspiration. Also, we should learn from the past mistakes and prevent future ones (avoid them in the future). In this way, I guarantee that we will finally make it!

Some people maintain that universities are the best place for young people to receive higher education; other people believe that young people can be equally educated by taking correspondence courses or going to evening classes and open universities in their spare time.

Write an article of about 300 words in which you compare and contrast the advantages and disadvantages of formal university education and informal higher education. Which do you think is more effective and desirable? Support your argument with appropriate examples or illustrations.

Informal Higher Education Serves Better

姓名黄沁江苏省南京市南京师大附中学校高二(13)班级准考证号 0413

Although most students are still fighting for the diploma in universities after graduation from high school, it has been a clear trend that more and more students choose to start their working career earlier and receive informal higher education, which in my opinion, serves better to build more competition (competitive) and suitable personal abilities.

Informal higher education offers better opportunities to adapt to social life for students, and help them understand better the reality of their social community and responsibilities they are to take. Compared with those who spend entirely their time in the (on) campus, students who take evening classes could contact with more people, develop their communication skills and social behaviors during working hours. They know better how cruel and realistic the society is and that it is your power and capabilities that only speak. They understand and adapt better to the pr essure of life’s difficulties which in universities could hardly be realized.

Secondly, after experiencing real working life, these (those) who attend correspondence courses would know better what kind of knowledge and abilities they must master, whic h definitely help them in future advancement and career choices. Suppose you’re a graduate from high school and become an assist of a car repairing workshop. Then you’ll have to know how the engine and diffe rent parts of the car works and how to deal with various crisises (emergent problems). Therefore, night schools’ education (evening classes) would enable you (插入to) acquire more specialized knowledge which are fit to you. However, in universities, you have to learn a great many courses, some of which are comparatively useless and can even make you bewilded of future (bewildered to the future).

Furthermore, as they have more time to manage for themselves, students drop higher education in universities could earn some money and gain earlier start in career. These will ease their families’ burdens and satisfy their desire for basic money need s. As a matter of fact, nowadays, more than a few American teens abandon university’ s education and try to become a worker like air-conditional repairer (air-conditioner repairman) who can earn as much as $ 30, 000 for the first year. Thus, their decisions benefit themselves and their families.

Conclude (To conclude) from all the facts talked above, we can safely arrive at the summary that informal higher education is more efficient and serves better. It make (makes) you ahead of others in career development with more competitive skills, fit knowledge, pre cious experiences of social life and more leisure to earn some essential financial supports. As we’ll one day indulge ourselves in the real soci (walk into the realistic society,) informal higher education serves better for our present and future developing. (development)

Fruit & the Vitamin Medicine

姓名俞艾杉辽宁省大连市第二十四中学校 2·10班级准考证号 0335

With the world developing in (at) high speed, more and more young people take part in higher educated (education). Some of the (them) choose to go to universities, and the others joined evening classes and open universities or took correspondence courses. I think, if we put the formal university education as the fruits we eat and the informal higher education would be like the vitamin medicine. Both of them could give us what we need.

Let’s see two examples: The first one is my elder sister, who studyed (studied) very well and went into Beijing University with a high mark. Now, after the four-year university life, she was employed by a lawyer firm and makes a large sum of money every year.

Another example is a girl who used to working in (work in) my father’s bar. She was a country girl, (插入and) she worked hard but got little money, so under my father’s encourageme nt, she attended an evening class in spare time. The first two years was a hard time, because on one hand, she must to (去掉) learn knowledge in the evening when she was very tired after one day's work; On the other hand, she had to make money to pay for the evening class. But then her way was wider and wider, and now she found a better job in a small company and can offer much more money to her poor family.

In my opinion, even both the girl and my sister got a good job at last, but I still think that enter (attending) formal university is better. Because in universities we could make more friends, we could get more chances to communicate with the experienceness (experienced) professors, we could get more ways to receive information of our future jobs, and we could also send ourselves into the coulful (colorful) groups in the university so that we could have a happier higher educated life. But in the informal education, there could not be so much fun.

Though I thought like this, but I have to say equally that both fruit and vitamin medicine can give us the vitamins we need, the only difference between them is that some people love fruits and the others may thought (think) having medicine is easier. So whatever you choose, the fruit or the medicine (the formal university education or the informal higher education), the most important is that you can get the knowledge you wanted, isn't it?

Let's Go to Universities!

姓名张培培山东省淄博市第十一中学校高二22班级准考证号 0209

There's a general debate (插入on) whether or not universities are the best place for young people to receive higher education. Some people think it right while others think the opposite is true. There’s probably some truth in both opinions.

Some students dream to go (dream of going) to universities be- cause studying in universities does do good to them. Universities have super (outstanding) teachers and professors and most universities are equipped with excellent facilities. Also, by taking part in all kinds of activities organized in universities, students can widen their views (插入and) increase their experience. In this case, many students are motivated to study harder and acquire more knowledge in middle schools in order to be admitted by the universities they dream of. Not only (插入do) universities provide good studying place (circumstance), but also they (去掉) encourage students to study. However, there are also some disadvantages. For instance, some universities are not so good as expected, (插入and) many students can’t learn much to meet the need of society. Those who fail in their exams can’t go to their desirable universities.

However, the opportunity is offered by the open universities. Students can be equally educated by taking correspondence courses or going to evening class if they fail to go to universities. They can choose courses that cater for their interest and the need of the times freely. Although they are refused to go to universities, they can also benefit from the correspondence courses or evening classes. As the sa ying goes, “every coin has two sides”. Things always leave undesiabl (something undesirable). There are some evening classes whoes (whose) quality is not good. It’s hard for people to receive sufficient knowledge.

For me, as a student, I would like to go to universities. Once a time, I walked in the Peking University. I was really attracted by the swaggering confidence, the irrepressible spirit and the indomitable nerves that the students in it (去掉) have. I was lost in the studying atmosphere. I’m really eager to go to university that I like. It is the goal that motivates me to study hard. I have done my best and will continue to do so. I believe it won’t be long before I achieve my goal!

Ibs en once said, “It’ a your suprem (supreme) duty to cast yourself into a useful emplement.” (implement) I set my mind to go to the university and I’m determined to succeed.

Let’s go to universities for the universities’ advantages provided.

Stop Your Superstition On Universities

姓名张益中河北省石家庄市石家庄外国语学校高一(10)班班级准考证号 0208 Last decade saw the flood peak of students streaming into formal, venerable universities. It seems as if university is the only cradle for(插入its) talented professers (professors) and well-known celebribties (celebrities). However, I myself never believe the theory holds water. On the contrary, I recommend correspondence courses as well as open universities to be the more preferable choices for modem teenagers.

Surely, formal universities enjoy a much better reputation throughout the society, which may more or less be helpful for their students to get a well-paid job. But don’t be deceived by the attracting illusion. University might be a good place to obtain knowledge, but knowledge seems to be too narrow in front of the definition of education. Not only those language point from the book, but also the specific skills on how to communicate with people, are what we need to become successful. But take a glance at the way students get “educated” in form al universities. They get up at an approximately same time, (插入and) they go to assigned classroom and start facing dull books all day. They just have no time to get more sociable skills as well as definite, professional tecneques (techniques). That’s why oceans of university graduations are obliged to major some mo re practical skills again, for they are mostly jobless.

However, attending correspondence courses or evening classes, is a perfect way to solve the problem. We can make full use of our spare time to do a part-time job and to get more “education” natur all y from the vivid society. To say “I obtain knowledge, and I get the true essence of how to become a real marl. “ is not enough to de- scribe its efficiency and magic. We can undoubtedly renew our antiquated, inadequate “knowledge case” inside our brain by diligently study (studying) at night, and conscientiously taking a job and get- ring “extra-education” at daytime.

Stop your superstition on universities, and make a more effective choice without hesitation. Only in this way can a perfect celerity both well-educated and sociable be shaped!

Universities or Informal Education?

姓名刘钥铭辽宁省本溪市高级中学学校高二十五班班级准考证号 0125

It is an undeniable fact that, nowadays, a controversial debate has (插入been) risen as to whether universities or informal higher education is more essential for students, (which is more essential for students, universities or informal higher education). People vary in their opinions on this question.

Those who are in favor of universities often provide the following evidence. First of all, universities are run by the government and seem to be more reliable, whereas informal higher education is short of serious disciplines. Moreover universities have the incomparable merits that with students living in their dormitories they provide (are provided) plenty of time to gain the knowledge they long for.

Nevertheless, there are also people who set forth a totally opposite idea. They claim that there are various kinds of informal education ranging from correspondence courses to open universities and evening classes, from which students can choose freely according to their own needs and likes. Furthermore, students can get more spare time to step into other activities or continue their work during the daytime. While in universities, students have to stay inside all day. This, of course, will reject those workers who have an appetite for knowledge and want to further their study.

From my perspective, I think the former group’s idea is more favorable. Three key components account for my choice. First and

foremost, with a longer history, universities provide students with more accurate knowledge and can equip them better for their future career. What’s more, during the four years of acdamic (academic) life, students can broaden their eyes, deepen their understanding, sharpen their mind and maintain specialized training. Last but not least, it is commonly accepted that universities are more experienced in education and have a better environment for students to develop themselves both mentally and physically.

Taking all these factors into consideration, I confidentally (confidently) come to the conclusion that one should give priority to universifies. Only in this way can they arm themselves with more knowledge and perfect their personalities. University, a Better Choice

姓名卢亦岑辽宁省沈阳市东北育才学校高一9班级准考证号 0083

Today, more and more students choose to go to universities after their (they) graduate from high school. The motive varies from individual to individual. Meanwhile, there are also a number of people argue that for juveniles, taking correspondence courses or going to evening classes and open universities in their spare time would be a better choice, since these students, who are new-comers of the society, can learn much more outside the classroom. To determine which is more desirable, we should look into further details.

It is a simple yet universial (universal) law that for adolescents, study is a never-changed thing to do. Consequently, students may never take the pain to ponder: why I go to school? (插入When) answering the question why they go to universities, they may say, “to learn more academic knowledges (knowledge), to made new friends, to look for a higher-paid (well-paid) job and so on.” Universities, nevertheless, have the ability to offer young peoples (people) who are of an age a large platform, which let them to meet, to compete, and to learn from each other. The impact that universities have had on our society in general, is undeniable. Lots of people when reminded (recalling) of the old days in university, would say, that four years are golden, since (for) it provided them lots of opportunities. Though painstaking and time-consuming in many people’s eye, the function that university as a refinery of the young is highly valued and of essence.

On the contrary, evening classes and so on so force (去掉), would stand in a lower position for its lack of communications. Say, students come from a single (the same) city, not even a country. Unlike the exotic faces in a university campus (去掉), students of a (an) evening class are not at all diversified. In addition, it is no doubt that in a broad sense, no one can garantee (guarantee) that those student (students) will be under a condition of “learning” during the free time of a part time (part-time) class. Will all of them, our future elites, go to work or read books in libraries? Hardly. Gone are the days when knowledge is highly valued. It is a time now, when technology is accumulated by multiplying, and at the same time becomes more and more entertaining. Internet, TV, ... all kinds of things will lead to a consequence that students’ concentration be distracted. As a result, the detriments of evening class wi ll overweigh its benifits (benefits).

When the issue comes to my current situation, I will definetly (definitely) choose go to universities without any hesitate (hesitation). However, part-time classes would be a better choice under only one circumstance. It only benefits people who have high self-control, who are virtually minority in quantity.

There was a time when people believed in the simple truth that one couldn’t have a bright future without a university-education degree. Have you ever been deeply convinced about this opinion? Have you ever tried to prove it? Is it true that the informal education is a kind of the worst choice?

There is no doubt that being admitted to a key university is a good way to success. Being in our ideal universities, we can enjoy the various kinds of school lives and find (discover) ourselves while working in students’ communities. With joyness (joys) and happiness, we grow more mature and knowledgeable and get a harvest of precious experience. We let out all our intelligience (intelligence) in universit y and make friends with each other. What’s more, we receive a high level of education which is given by qualified and experienced professors. In a word, we make big improvements during the colorful and fruitful school lives. But at the same time, the formal university educations may lead to the unfairness between the general students. A great many students are forced to give up the chance to go to university for the lack of money. Considering this, we may ask ourselves ff it is the only way for every one to catch their dreams.

With the development of the education, there exists (exist) many informal higher education schools like evening classes and open universities. We must notice that these social schools have indeed helped many students solve their problems in education. A part of people could take lessons (receive education) and go on working at the same time. For some people, it is another way to fulfill their broken (unfulfillable) dreams of universities. According to the basic condition of China, the informal education really does a good job a- bout the necessity of so many people’s education, and help to improve the quality of people in general. Besides this, people can experience a different concept of education if ones have (one has) already got bored with their majors and want to learn more.

In my opinion, it is alright for everyone to do what they love to, to be what they love to be, for we are different from each other. We all have our own goals and dreams. Everyone is fair (equal) and every one has the right to realize their dreams. The most important thing is that we want to study, we want to make progress and we want to be someone. Although there are so many praises and abuses about our choices, we should stick on (to) our ideas just fo r the simple reason that we’ll make it only if we keep on studying. Believe me and believe in this idea: no one can stop you except yourself, (插入and) your choice can be right just because you believe it is right, after all, impossible is nothing!

Dear Jean:

It is a great surprise that you sent me a letter telling me that you were considering about getting higher education! Now that you can hardly decide whether to go to formal universities or informal courses, let me give you some advice that may help.

The formal or the informal, there is much discussion nowadays on it (both). Most people incline to the former for the most important reason: it is formal. The word “formal” means famous professors, latest information, better facilities and more opp ortunities, few of which the informal colleges can provide with (去掉). However, there are some things that formal universities can not offer: a flexible timetable and a study plan just for you. The reason why Bill Gates left Harvard before graduation lies in the fact t hat he couldn’t gain what he himself wanted to learn.

On the other hand, some people hold the view that young people can be equally educated by taking informal courses in their spare time. The reasons are as follow. First and foremost, informal courses give people more chances to learn if they failed to attend a formal university. Furthermore, the timetable is so flexible that you don’t have to quit from your job. Last but not least, t he open attitude of informal courses encourages more people to pick up books again when they are no more young (not young), as the saying goes “Live to learn, learn till death. “ Notwithstanding the advantages, there are still some advantages (disadvantages). For instance, many companies don’t hire a man who has just been in informal universities instead of a formal one.

As far as I’m concerned, I tend to a formal university and I’ve just told you the reasons above. But there is one thing that I believe all my life: the fit one is the best. Please don’t just follow my advice, on the contrary you should think carefully and make you own decision. The future being in your own hand, just ask yourself: what you truly desire for.

Well, please send me a letter after you make up your mind. No matter what the decision is, I am proud of you! Good Luck!

Your sincerely, Ann 姓名陈茜辽宁省大连市第24高中学校高二·一班级准考证号 0300

With different kinds of evening classes and open universities popping up everywhere, there is no denying that complementary schools have played an integral part in our lives. However, my perspective is that formal universities far outweigh such complementary schools.

Allowing for more flexibility, students (Complementary schools allow more flexibility, and the students there) can adjust their study schedule to match the time of day when they are most alert (busy). Nevertheless, there also exist some disadvantages that should never be ignored. Firstly, such schools don’t have severe disciplines, thus some students are easily lured to the dreadful sin instead of the heaven for knowledge (逻辑错误, acquiring knowledge). Gang violence can be seen in such schools. Secondly, some students there just want to kill time and attach too much importance on (to) fashion. As a result, poor students would be ostracized for their shabby clothing, while middle class students would feel much pressure to spend exorbitant amounts on expensive designer clothing. Thirdly, some open schools are like marshmallows, light and fluffy with no real sub- stance. It’s a waste of time and money. Last but not least, all comp anies don’t view certifications (certificates) of such schools equivalent to those of formal schools. Job hunting could become a (an) insurmountable problem.

Conversely, there is a correlation between formal universities and the word “authority”. Fir stly, universities provide an ideal environment for study with rules promoting discipline. Needless to say, it will stimulate students to discuss about thought-provoking issues and exchange their own experiences. Secondly, formal universities can creat (create) a sense of cohesiveness, which leads students to work within a group concept. It’s an all-important factor in the society. Thirdly, students can build successful human interaction in (on) campus since they have more time to spend together, finding they have more in common with one another. Life in universities is like food, be it nutritious food for our body or spiritual food for our soul.

There are several examples of some individuals who get success without university experience. However, there’re tens of thousands of examples who fail. Auending a formal university, as a general rule of thumb, is the best way to go.

The Garden of Eden for Students -I Choose University

姓名刘莞天津市南开中学学校高二三班级准考证号 0128

University, which is the Garden of Eden for students in the eyes of many people, is still doing the big job that is, making students useful to this world. Though Bill Gates can stand up to speak for his own, ev eryone can’t deny the importance of university. Other people believe that the young can also be educated through other ways. Yes. All we want is knowledge. All we need to do is to improve ourselves. If so, why not devote your most precious and energetic years to this Garden of Eden, in time you will not regret your deed.

Now please let me defend for myself, why I place university on such a holy state better than anything else.

From the day the first university was found (Maybe Oxford), this world begins to define university as the right place where high (top) students should go. First, the professors in university attract us. They just like the Socrates in ancient Greek. Everyone was eager to go where the study is famous. The better the courses are, the better students it produces, the more famous the university will be. Since SAT become prevalent in Chinese mainland, it has attracted many Chinese top students to try on the project. It opens a door for us to U. S. universities: Harvard, Yale, Stanford, etc.

Second, University shapes us into different roles we play in society in the future. If one has the talent in leading people, it probably begins to appear in University.

While University is perfect in many people’s eyes, it has been critizing (criticized) for a long time. Many complain that they don’t get useful knowledge during the four years, it’s (It is) no better than four blank years except for balls, parties, and meeting different

people. But I must say, whenever you have a goal, you will not lose yourself in university, (插入for) it’s a land of peace, but a land of challenge (vanity fair).

On the other hand, the informal education becomes more and more useful. It furnishes a lot of people’s life, and its knowledg e is immediately practiced. I admit its importance, for I myself have seen many universities like this in England, Germany and many other European. But to spot the stuff, university should not be ignored. It can not be placed (replaced). Because the informal education is just a way for getting knowledge, it’s nothing more, but instant knowledge.

To Sum up, I prefer the university to be more effective and desirable. It is indeed the case.

Formal University Education or Informal

Higher Education?

姓名赵倩云山东省青岛市青岛二中学校高三、15班级准考证号 0347

Some people hold the opinion that universities are the ideal place for young people to receive higher education, while others cast serious doubts on it and claim that informal higher education such as evening classes and open universities are more desirable.

From my perspective, both ways of education have their own set of advantages and disadvantages. But if someone were to ask me about the question, I would prefer university education. There are numerous reasons why I consider university education superior to informal education. Here I would like to explain a few of the most pertinent ones as follows:

First of all, it is obvious that university students have much time to study, so that they can put themselves into their studies and concentrate more. On the contrary, with works taking up so much of their time, people who receive informal higher education are probably not able to study whenever they want.

Second, students in universities spend much time together, and are more likely to get acquaintant (acquainted). With this familiarity, they can cooperate in their studies and experiments, thus enhancing their friendship and intellectual skills as well. What is more, university students also compete for higher grades, thus equipping them with the ability to compete, which is of great importance when they enter society. Comparatively, as people who attend evening classes are from all walks of life with diverse experiences, they are liable to be total strangers rather than intimate friends.

Last but not least, in universities, experienced and famous professors often give lessons with a carefully planned teaching plan, which enable the students to study in a more effective and efficient way. Those who do not attend universities, however, might study for a while then rest for a long period with a low efficiency.

Under some conditions, however, students in universities might be less industrious than people who receive informal higher education and indulge themselves in the material world, for they are less restricted in their lives. This cannot be denied out of hand.

Nevertheless if all the factors are considered, it is apparent that the advantages of students receiving formal university education far outweigh those of studying in formal (informal) higher education. In the light of the above, we can conclude that universities are actually the best place for young people to acquire knowledge!

More than One Way to the Square

姓名李珊珊湖北省宜昌市夷陵中学学校高二14班级准考证号 0237

Over the years, it has been a dream to (for) many young people to receive higher education by attending universities. However, as the modernization deepens, many correspondence courses, evening classes and even open universities have appeared to give the young higher education. Personally, I think both ways of education have their pros and cons.

First, universities can create a rich (competitive) environment in which the young feel urged to learn while open universities and other forms of education cannot.

Second, universities tend to have a scientific education system which consists of teaching methods, professors and specific facilities. However, this is exactly where (去掉) the weak points of other education forms are (去掉).

On second thought, other education forms have their strong points as well. For instance, correspondence courses or evening classes have more hands-on activities which not only provide the young with knowledge but also social experience. There, young people can meet different people from different backgrounds.

An American publisher, Forbes, once said: “The purpose of education is to replace an empty mind with an open one. “ Therefore, in this age of modernization, it seems meaningless to force us young people to choose between university education and informal education. One can make up his or her mind as one sees fit.

In my point of view, I prefer to go to universities first in order to la y a solid foundation on my skills. In my spare time, I’d like to choose other forms of education to spice up my learning interests and enrich my social experience.

More than one way to the square. With the combination of all the education forms, I’m optimistc (optimistic) that my generation will march together to a bright future and reach our brand-new goals.

Formal is Better than Informal

姓名孙迎辉河南省郑州市郑州外国语学校高二14班级准考证号 0143

All roads lead to Rome. With the development of technology and education, we enjoy the privilege of modern civilization to the most. Universities are not the only choice for hundreds of thousands of students who are eagerly hunting for their future and chasing after their dreams. Informal higher education, which is more and popular these days, provides us many (去掉) more ways, gives more

people the opportunity to get better education and in this way turns to a new page in the history of education. It includes correspondence courses, going to (去掉) evening classes and open universities and so on in informal education (去掉). As the choices vary, we are in face of a new question of what (which) to choose. In my opinion, formal education is still more effective and desirable than others.

Some people are in favor of informal education for the reason that they are free to choose what they want to learn. Also they can take the courses in their spare time, so they can work as well as study (while studying). What’s more, they say taking a certain course enhances their skills in a certain field very rapidly, thus they can immediately go to work after learning. But on the other hand, I think, it’s not that promising. First, after a day’s hard work, how can you guarantee your enthusiasm in evening classes? Is it really effective? Second, I doubt whether it’s professional. Experts are limited, so it remains a question: what the teaching level is. Third, after graduation, your certificate is perhaps not acceptable.

Formal university education is indeed the best choice. As you stay in the campus (college), you enjoy the peaceful and profession- al atmosphere of the university. Professors give you better advice and libraries offer you more information. Furthermore, you learn things much more technical and complex when in university. It is a time(插入when) you put yourself into research and study in university, and the courses are more systematical. Some people think it’s a waste of time to spend four years learning without connection to society. Definitely not! University speeches and other activities can also be a great chance to practice in universities.

Let’s take the leaders in China for example. Our chairman, premi er and other important politicians are all from famous universities like Tsinghua or Peking University. It is because good universities make a person wise, change his attitude and enlarge his eyesight. I would say university is a kind of culture, bringing you to the stage of the world. It acts as a window through which you see the world and as a light tower leading you to future.

Formal Universities and Informal Ones

姓名曹力丹天津市第一中学学校高三A4班级准考证号 0400

Higher education, in modern society, is attracting more and more attention. It promises us not only a high (higher) position but also a bright (brighter) future. Therefore, ways of receiving higher education are compared seriously.

Some people maintain that universities are the best place to receive higher education. They believe that formal universities can give young people more professional knowledge and teach them more scientific skills. By learning in these formal ones, young students could form their own knowledge backgrounds both deep (deeply) and wide (widely). However, they can not deny that formal ones are more difficult to go into, and limit the time and opportunities especially for students who want to work first.

Therefore, others argue that informal higher education is better. They say that correspondence courses, evening classes and open universities give more opportunities for everyone. They let you work and study at the same time. Besides, they also point out that universities give students more knowledge that may not be used in their future work. On this point, informal ones give them more practical skills and give them the chance to put what they have learned into practice. But, informal ones could not give students knowledge deep enough for them to do research and their quality of education can not be con- firmed.

Comparing these two kinds of education, I prefer universities to informal ones. I think learning in formal universities is more effective and desirable. Knowledge, in the first place, can be taught more wide (widely) and deep (deeply). We can gain more top (latest) information from these schools especially top universities. What’s more, we learn in good environment. Formal universities ca n give us a historical culture background. Their thick learning atmosphere (good atmosphere of learning) can inspire students to work hard and study hard. Besides, they have more research programs. Participating in these research programs will surely give us a better chance to go deep (further) in the field.

Let me take the top universities as examples. Students could be well educated in these schools because of the high quality of their professors. What’s more a lot of universities have fatastic (fantastic) science facuties (faculty) which run top in the world. Students can see the scientific masters, talk to them and learn from them. All these advantages are wonderful that can not be matched with. In addition, society recognize (recognizes) more university degrees than the informal ones.

All in all, the formal universities are the best place to go. More scientific and wonderful, they will surely give me a wonderful future. If I were a leaf, then the formal university would be my motherland. The baby will certainly go to its mother both eagerly and happily! Choose a university, choose a bright future!

Which is More Effective?

姓名夏天山东省烟台市福山岖第一中学学校高二一班级准考证号 0368

Universities are widely accepted by the whole society as formal institutions of higher education. They definitely has (have) trained a large number of outstanding persons. However, there’re also many people who achieved success by self-study or going to evening classes. So which is more effective, formal university education or informal higher education?

In my opinion, it’s the person that matters but not the form of education. Both for ms of education have the advantages and disadvantages. Take universities for example, in the first place, financed by the government, universities can offer better environment, superior living facilities. Secondly, many universities have their unique spirits which students could feel and be infected. Thirdly, the full-time study can make the students put their whole heart into their study so as to make great and rapid progress. But on the other hand, the high (expensive) education fee force a lot of students especially who (插入are) from rural places to abondon (abandon) their further education. As students don’t have enough time to know about the society, perhaps there are a considerable number of student (students) will be unfit for the highly competitive modern society. Obv iously, the number of universities can’t meet people’s need. Thus the students in middle schools have to face the heavy study load to go to a better university.

Compared with formal university education, people who choose the correspondence courses or evening classes can have more

freedom. To illustrate, my sister was forced to leave school after graduating from junior high school because of poverty. She was so eager to study that she (插入was) determined to learn by herself in her spare time. In the daytime, she was busy (插入with) working. But when she finished working, she would start learning until late. Sometimes she even burnt the midnight oil. It goes with saying that where there’s a will there’s a way. She then went to evening classes. Finally, she became a professional lawyer after these years. She succeeded.

There are many people who achieved their goal by themselves. Either formal or informal education is just the way by which we gain success. A person with strong mind, and determination will always win no matter which way he choose (chooses). Bill Gates become the wealthiest man without fishing (finishing) his university study. We are the most decisive factors. “Gold will sh ine no matter where it is. “ But once we choose either formal education or informal education, we should settle down and put whole heart in to it. Get rid of laziness and make a scientific plan. Only in this way can we get the true joy of achieving our goals.

University, a Dream Place

姓名邹诗云江苏省镇江市第一中学学校高二、1班级准考证号 0287

“What’s your dream (ideal) university?” I often hear this question raised by my classmates. Many of us have been longing for attending a university ever since childhood, so nine out of ten times, you can expect to get an answer without much difficulty. However, if I ever ask my friends, “Which open university are you interested in,” I think they’ll treat me like an alien and refuse to answer the question. So, why? Because formal university education has its superiorities (superiority) to informal one and is always the first choice for high school students.

Universities have a long and glorious history on this planet and they have been playing an important role in the development of man- kind. The word ‘academy’ actually originated from Plato’s education institute in ancient Greece. On the contrary, however, informal higher education didn’t come into being until 20th century, so it has a much shorter history. So these are the two f orms of higher education(插入system) currently and personally (separately). Although both are needed, I still think the formal one is more desirable.

With the fast development of science and technology, people’s life has been considerably improved. But have you ever thought about to whom we should be grateful? The universities. The vast majority of these inventions are accomplished in labs of universities. With abundant resources and advanced equipment (equipments), universities have incomparable advantages of (in) innovation. For students who are determined to make contributions to all the human beings, it’s certainly their first choice to attend a univ ersity instead of taking informal education. Because we seldom hear some (any) open university recently made an exciting breakthrough, do we?

But some may argue that not all the people are able to attend a university since there’s a higher threshould (threshold). To some extend (extent), I agree with that. However, due to expansions of university (the enrollment expansion of university) and policies to reduce tuitions for poor students, actually more and more students can now enjoy life on a (去掉) campus without worrying too much. University education is becoming more popular since more people are getting aware of its importance. If you can (have) a chance to go to a university, you should definitely seize it.

Last night, I took a walk on the (去掉) campus of Tsinghua university, and found it really exciting to enjoy campus life. I saw people taking part in various activities including chatting, roller skating and so on. So here comes my third reason why I think university education is better. By taking part in social life on campus, one can learn how to form team work and take the leadership. There are different organized programs among the students, which are not available in open universities. I believe universities are established in the hope to make youngsters prepared for the future both academicly (academically) and socially. In this sense, activities really count.

I’m now a senior high student, and I really love to be a university student one day. University is a place where caterpi llars change in- to butterflies and where I can think freely. Again I want to say,

standard higher education is important, and I’m working on to attend my own dream (ideal) university.

Which Education Is Better, Formal or Informal?

姓名付雅山东省聊城市聊城一中学校高三·二班班级准考证号 0075

As we all know, higher education takes an important role in one person’s (one’s) life. It’s in direct connection with his or her career. Facing this fact, we get confused. Nowadays there are many kinds of higher education, but which one is better, formal one or in- formal one? Actually, if we compare the two kinds carefully, we’ll find the answer. First, it’s about the study fee. Some formal universities’ tuition are very high (expensive). However, some students still go there without thinking. Why? They know it deserve it (it is well-deserved). Some informal education asks for a lot of money. But the fee is not the symbol of teaching quality. Maybe sometimes it’s only a symbol of modern teaching tools and beautiful surroundings. Th at’s it (去掉) for some expensive informal education. Second, formal universities, especially the good ones are full of experienced teacher. There’s no doubt about their teaching. Obviously, this is it’s the biggest advantage over informal education. Third, dislike in the (unlike the students in) formal universities, some students having informal education don’t consider it serious, Instead, they make escaping classes formal (often skip classes). Bad effects naturally take place. On the other hand, just in result of the short-time classes of time, the students have more time to have colorful activities they like, and to make money for study. That’s just what the students in formal universities can’t do. As a result, they can only have less social abilities. Forth (Fourth), with the development of the country, more and more companies pay attention to which university the employee comes from. For the students from courses (去掉) evening classes, it’s a big problem, although it’s a little unequal (unfair). But we must face the life. Lift is full of unequal (unfair) elements.

After the comparison, the answer seems clear. The formal university education is better in most aspects. As we often say, nothing

is perfect. No matter what is the education we choose, there is only one aim-to make our career successful and bright our life. That’s the very thing that counts. Education only takes the role of (as) the bridge to success.

Facing Educational Ways, You Say, I Say...

姓名任思佳天津市实验中学学校高二13班级准考证号 0102

As is known to all, universities were always regarded as the first step for one to enter his lifetime profession. However, with the rapid progress of society, people’s concept began to change: except (besides) formal education in universities, informal evening class and correspondence courses have enjoyed popularity these years.

Some traditional people around me are holding the former opinion, and they own their own reasons. Firstly, a diploma, and they own their own reasons. Firstly, a dimploma (diploma) of a formal university values much more (higher) pay when finding a job (建议去掉), through which we can live a more comfortable life, In adition (addition), after four years campus life, you will learn to get along well with Our (your) roommates and schoolmates, from which(whom) we could improve our emotional quotes (quotient). On the contrary, students in evening classes absolutely don’t spend much time with their classmates, which results in less association among e ach other. Moreover, university life is a good lesson (experience) that teaches us how to be a strong-minded, open-minded man. Once lose it, you can never experience a similar lesson during your adult years.

However, Some of (去掉) people in society are holding an opposite opinion think (thinking) that evening classes and open universities can also develop one’s covered potential. On the one hand, there is a lack of basical (basic) technology in today’s China. Without having to go to university, those who learn technology also adapt themselves to the urgent need of the country. On the other hand, they always look on society as their best teacher. To experience varies (various) cases and deal with large amounts of people, will lead them to live a more practical life in the near future. In a contray (contrast), those university graduates seem to be a little bit weak in their sociability.

As far as I an concerned, both university education and evening classes have its (theft) own advantages and disadvantages. I still remember Lincoln once said: “A success is one who chooses his life style all by himself. “ And I just want to present it to a ll of you when you choose your education. A suitable one is always the best.

To be exactly (exact), however, a university will provide you more than you expected. For me, I will choose a university education. It will help us harvest not only knowledge, but also unique experience and feelings, which will become a mine for our whole lifetime, help (helping) us to live a life with our sky full of sunshine and rainbow.

Different Chocolate, Different Ways of Education.

姓名李小玢山东省济南市山东省实验中学学校 05级21班级准考证号 0226

“Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get. “ This is a classic (插入part) from the movie Forrest Gump, which suddenly occurred to me when I got this topic. So please grant me to explain my contention with different kinds of chocolate. There are three kinds of chocolate in the current market, white chocolate, black chocolate and milk chocolate. In my humble opinion, each represents a way (form) of education.

White chocolate is called “chocolate without cocoa”, and it is honeyed and scrumptious, not a bit bitter. Formal university education is like the white chocolate. Receiving a formal education means having a bright new future, and those graduates’ lives will be as sweet as honey. It is true that a diploma granted by a formal university can impinge more on (bring more benefits to) a student’s future, but this kind of education doesn’t always mean a coign of (a secure) vantage. Some students who attend to (去掉) a formal university tend to be idle and lazy, and some even act like an Epicurean. That is the same with white chocolates--too much sugar and milk could also spoil its wonderful taste.

Black Chocolate contains at least 35% of chocolate liquor, and taste much too hitter to most of us. But it has an endless aftertaste. It is the same with informal education. Students who failed in the college entrance exams tend to have a busy life. Most of them have to work while studying at a night school. This kind of life is bitter, but it may bring some cordial aftertaste to a student’s l ife, too. Sweat doesn’t always mean failure, to a degree, and it may mean the Blue Bird to their future. I have a neighbor whose father is a migrant, and he received a 7.5 in the ILETS while helping his dad with all the housework.

So far, you may think that I an in favor of informal education, don’t you? To tell you the truth, what I like is the milk chocolate, a combination of these two chocolates. In my humble opinion, a perfect education should combine the advantages of the two kinds of education together as a whole, it should absorb the comfort of formal education and the deligence (diligence) of the informal education. In that way, students can enjoy a colorful life, while at the same time, they gain sweat and tears through practicing their skills. It is my contention that both of the education is useful, hut the combination of the two is more perfect. Because only in that way can we make our juveniles highereducated and more skilled.

Which Kind of Universes is Better, Formal Ones or Informal Ones?

姓名杨铧铧浙江省杭州市杭州外国语学校高一10班准考证号 0257

Nowadays, universities are considered to be the best place for young people to receive higher education, but where to receive receive (去掉一个) the education is better, formal universities or in- formal universities is being argued by many people. In my opinion, I

prefer formal universities.

Firstly, formal universities can create a better study environment for students, For example, Tsinghua University covers an area of 80 acres. There are not only many different kinds of teaching buildings, but also two big lakes as well. The students in Tsinghua can read books comfortably near the lake, so that they can learn more efficiently. But, how about informal universities? There are only several teaching buildings and the equipments are usually old. So how can they study as efficiently as those in formal universities?

Secondly, the students of informal universities’ main job (the main job of the students in informal universities) is different from those in f ormal universities. Students in informal universities often have to work in the daytime. After a whole day’s work, they must be quite tired. This will have a negative effect on their study in the evening. But the students in formal universities can study with all the concentration. They don’t have to care about other things. Obviously, they can learn more and better.

Thirdly, since the students in formal universities live in the school, they can have wonderful school life. This is a period of precious experience for them. And students in informal universities can not have it.

Lastly, and the most importantly, the qualities of the students are different. Students in formal universities are much more professional on the subject than those in informal universes, for they are taught by the best professors. The companies will prefer the students who graduate from formal universities, because they have more knowledge on the subject.

So, even though informal students are more convinient (convenient) than the formal ones, formal universities can give the students more knowledge and experience. So in the whole, formal universities are better for students to receive higher education than informal universities.

Formal Better, or Informal Better?

When it comes to our future, majority of students may say that they are in want of to receive (receiving) education in universities. The others may say that they can also be equally educated by going to evening classes in their spare time. And which is better?

Universities are like small societies. Teenagers can be taught how to live alone (independently), how to deal with matters and communicate with others. Universities also offer high (professional) t echnological instruments to meet the demands of students’ desire of (for) knowledge. Though formal (Formal) as the university is, students there may get less experience by using what they learnt. Lacking (Lack) of experience may become their Achilles’ heel when hunting for a job.

To go to evening classes to receives so-called informal higher education is a not bad choice to thoes (those) who cannot have access to higher education but still have a (an) appetite for knowledge. Working experience is gained in their working time, and mean- while they have more chances to put thoery (theory) into practice. Working and studying hard may make them tired, but if they can ad- here to it, success will also come to them. After studying they may receive no degree is (and this is) a shortage.

It goes without a saying “Never be late to learn”. In my point of view, sticking to studying is a good matter. Whether receiv ing formal or informal higher education, if you really get something from learning, we (you will) reach the goals. Work, a good work but not only a degree is what we really want. It is universally acknowledged if we have ability to go to universities to receive formal education, we go where; if we don’t, we won’t. Formal or informal education depends o n what you like and your ability. But if you work hard and learn more, success will wave to you!

As I consider the two different ways of getting education, a pro- verb suddenly occurs to me: All roads lead to Roman. Though the purposes go to the same one--to get knowledge, I have my own preference.

Before rendering my opinion, I think it is important to take a glance at the arguments on both sides. People who support formal university education often give some, or even all of the following reasons. The threshold reason is that formal education is common, at (去掉) home and abroad. Attending formal universities, we are more likely to make more friends and take part in all kinds of activities. The second involves that formal university education costs less, and the universities provide scholarships for top students, which attracts most students especially those coming from backwoods or those who are mentally independent. In addition, it is believed by a vast majority of people that teachers in formal universities are better, which I think is true in a way. The last but not the least important is that formal universities offer more courses that students can take if interested.

People who deem informal higher education as equally good claim that young people will make full use of time by receiving this kind of education, because the young do not need to be on campus all day long but can choose to work or do other things worthwhile, which benefits the young who are living on their own, struggling to pay the high expenses in big cities. What’s more, they ho ld that on the substantive level, higher education requires the ability to learn by oneself from students. Based on this point of view, there will be no difference of the results on condition that students are self-discipline (self-disciplined) and hard-working.

Personally, I regard the love for knowledge as the premier factor making a good student; therefore, it seems that the two share equal advantages when we focus on more studying. However, I do hope to be a student of formal universities like Peking University. Anyway, I love a library with numerous books and am in need of certificates and diplomas. I will also take evening classes when necessary. To choose this or that is a matter of balancing between which suits one person better.

Standing before the traffic light at the crossing of life, some teens lose their directions and forget what they really expect. Are we going to study in universities or step into society and receive informal higher education?

There has been considerable controversy over the comparison between formal education and the alternative one. To my mind,

what really counts is whether the form of education suits the student.

Most people choose universities to fulfill their dreams of further study. They learn their major subjects step by step, and attend social activities to improve interaction skills. The formal college education plays the most important part of today’s educat ion without doubt.

Howeve r, it’s not the only way to go. Informal higher education is also an indispensable role on the stage of education.

In today’s China, the universities cannot meet the demand of all candidates. Thus other forms of education is (are) severely needed. Students can manage their time more freely while receive (when receiving) informal higher education. Many celebraties (celebrities) walked through this way and finally reached their goals.

Jia zhongke, having not get a diploma of bachelor’s degree from B eijing Film academy, still gained tumutuous (tumultuous) applause all over the world by his great film Xiao Wu; Li Xiang, known as the Chinese Bill Gates, may be the youngest CEO in china, He set up his mind to write his legend in the field of IT directly after high school; the folk artists of china also cannot find their place at colleges. It is the informal education which fills the void, so that we can always enjoy performance of bamboo rap or works of wood engraving, etc.

As Zheng Yuanjie has said, “There’s not a single person in this world can graduate before he goes into eternal sleep”. As we live in the world and feel alive, we shouldn’t live in drift but with purpose. Ask your heart what kink (kind) of person you are and what kind of person you want to be. Then make a dicision (decision) and follow it through. Choose the way of your own and walk you unique path. Re- member what’s suitable is the best!

In the present day world, whether a person is well-educated or not is becoming one of the crucial standards of judging him or her. With the development of modern society, various kinds of educations are on their own stages. Among them, which kind of university should be prevailed is the most controversial. Some people maintain that universities are the best place for young people, while others deem correspondence courses or evening classes and open universities are better choice. Heated debates are right on their way. You should be fully a- ware of the advantages and disadvantages of both kinds. For one thing, formal university education can offer a whole series of education from (in) many aspects. And it can cultivate your mind and develop your ability of getting along with people and adapting yourself to the environment in which people eat and live together as well. On the contrary; informal university education cannot provide you with such an atmosphere.

For another, when interviewing a job (in job interviews), the one with formal university education will have a better chance compared with the informal one.

However, the informal university education also has its upper hand. First, one’s wisdom ca n be given full play and one can own him or her stage to do things they like. The air of freedom is (插入what) the formal education cannot compete with. It is in such an atmosphere that many great invertors and scientists were born, such as Newton, Edison and so forth. Though the successful examples are one chance in a million, it sure (surely) do give us more space to seek our potential talent. To top it all, informal university education makes it possible for students to take a part-time job to afford their own education. By comparison, formal university education needs to be improved.

Whatever kind of education one receives, it is a good thing that more and more people are receiving education than before. In my o- pinion, the formal university education is an easier approach to a comfortable life, for it could guarantee our future to a certain degree and be more safe (safer). Be that as it may, one should choose the most suitable kind according to oneself.

In a nutshell, no matter what kind of education you receive, make sure to apply yourself to reach the single aim, the solitary goal——the top. It will sure lead you to a bright future.

Formal or Informal

Has it ever happened to you? Have you ever thought about what you are going to do after the graduation from middle school? Have you ever been troubled by the election (selection) between formal university education and informal higher education?

If you never had such an experience, you would never know the dilemma that many people are facing.

Those people who approve of the formal university education claim that it has so many benefits for us. First, we can obtain copious knowledge in the university. University, as it has come to be known, is the paradise for learners who are thirsty for knowledge. Meanwhile, we can also learn how to study by ourselves when we step into the society. In addition, there are a great many opportunities waiting for us, from which we can enrich our experience to meet the need of our country. There was a time when people compare the university to the Ivory Tower. Indeed, the saying is proper to some extent. Perhaps we can come across a lot of life-long friends. Last but not least, we can find a satisfied vocation after a four-year hard work.

However, people rarely reach an absolute consensus on such an (a) controversial issue. No school has received more praise and abuse than the university. Critics argue that there are many good reasons against the Ivory Tower. First, nowadays, to attend a university needs so much money that a lot of families cannot afford to realize their children’s dream. On the contrary, the informal higher education cost less. Meanwhile, students can spent (spend) less time in school. In addition, university, as it were, exerts too much pressure on students. Some students choose the informal higher education in the hope of having more freedom and rights.

In my opinion, it is so crucial to make a wise chooce (choice) that we cannot afford to make a mistake. After a careful consideration, I stand on the side of the former. Despite the fact that university has its backdraws (drawbacks), its advantages are more obvious. In the new century, our country needs a great many experts. We should try our best to make our country more beautiful, restful and peaceful.

In a nutshell, I strongly advise students select formal education.

创新英语作文竞赛范文 【篇一:创新英语大赛获奖作文】 best motivation and reward before you hit the roads to achieve a goal, have you ever given any thought to your motivation or what are you expecting to get as a reward? attitudes towards this question vary from person to person. some people claim that wealth and fame is the best motivation and reward, others believe that the fulfillment of a job well done is its own reward. in my opinion, the later point holds more water. in the end, it is the joy in the journey that truly matters. doing the work with the attempt to be rich or famous will bring an unfortunate outcome and even will lead us to a dangerous situation. gradually, we will consider wealth and fame as the most important things in our lives instead of the care of our parents, or our ‘friends-time’. besides, this kind of thoug ht might have bad effects on our work, since we only care about how much money we earn or how to get as many glories as we can, we may tend to forget the original significance of doing the job and can’t concentrate our minds on doing the job well. thus our work efficiency will be reduced and it is unlikely that we can make a great development in our own career. what’s worse, once we fail to get or lose all those glories or wealth, we may feel rather depressed, empty and even sink into a desperate situation. however, if we change our train of thought and attach more importance to the sense of happiness and fulfillment by accomplishing some simple things, our life will become more wonderful. we won’t get tired of our work and we will be courageous enough to overcome all the obstacle on our road and enjoy the abundant happiness that the job brings to us. every workday is like a journey full of surprise and delight. besides, without the burden of wealth or fame, we can immerge ourselves into the job and there is a good chance that we can achieve a lot. in this case, although we don’t aim for wealth and fame, wealth and fame will follow naturally. if not, we will not feel discouraged, as we firmly

The Significance of Having A Purpose in Life 赵浚洲四川省平昌中学高一十七班指导教师吴昌荣with regard to life’s purpose, it is indisputable that having a purpose in your life has long been recognized as an important element in enabling humans to dispose of adversity and live with greater satisfaction. As John F. Kennedy puts it,”Efforts and courage are not enough without purpose and direction.” As far as I am concerned, a purpose in life plays an irreplaceable and vital role in your road to success. In the following context, I am going to justify my perspective from several aspects. To start with, there is no denying that having life's purpose can change the quality of your life. People often find that when they have discovered their life's purpose and begun to live by it, their lives take on greater meaning and authenticity. They report feeling less fragmented. They feel less overwhelmed by the complexities of modern living. Their course is clearer, their decision-making easier. Furthermore, having life's purpose provides you with unique motivation to live your life in a certain way. Your life purpose should be powerful and compelling enough to drive you forward--to lead you into activities that reflect this passion. Regarding senior high school students, all of you should set a great and ambitious life’s purpose and strive to pursue it with fervent passion. Otherwise, you would become degenerate and mediocre, at the same time, and couldn’t discover the meaning of your life. Eventually, having your life's purpose can give direction to your life, and help you figure out where to focus your energy, time and money. Provided that you often find yourself fluttering about your life from one fad to the next, you lack a directional focus. As Seneca says,“When a man does not know what harbor he is making for, no wind is the right wind”. Accordingly, a purpose serves as a lighthouse that guides you direction to navigate through the stormy waters. Even though you confront various setbacks and difficulties, you will spare no efforts to pursue your ideal and you will not be at a loss. In a nutshell, I can naturally draw a reasonable conclusion that success comes about as a corollary to embracing your purpose. Therefore, it is high time that you were aware of the significance of purpose in your life.

The Advantages and Disadvantages of Computers 李彦妮 辽宁市鞍山市第一中学10届14班 Nowadays, the idea of progress loorns so large in the modern world, and the progress of a particular kind is actually taking place around us. In this circumstances, computers which have a great help come out with the wisdom and hard-working of human beings. It do have given human a tremendous help, it, however, has brought to us its harmness at the some time. The computers can make a great help for us in this high speed society. In the light of this statement, it is computers that can store documents for us which is essential for us, it is computers that can shorten the time in seeking useful information instead of looking for knowledge from a large sums of books and it is computers that can make it possible to comunicate with different people who are far away from you. In a word, we can't live nomally without computers in such a high-tech society. On the contary, having helped us a lot, computers are harmful to people at the same time, especially the adolescents. First of all, sitting in front of the computer may do harm to our eyes. On the other hand, computers not only bring us useful information but also entertainments. Being weak in controlling themselves, those poor adolescents are more easier to get crazy about the fantasy world. Seeing a vivid picture which is about a son who gets stuck in computers and phones to his parents downstairs to bring dinner for him. I realized deeply that the computers really have their disadvantages. According to the statements above, it can not be superficial to simply say that computers are good or bad for us as every coin has both sides. Personally, I still consider that a computer can bring us convinience and high speed which is extolled to all the people even though it is a two-edged weapon. We can learn well punctuated by those purchasable wells of wisdom - computers. 专家建议:

11 Directions:Would you expect a “thank you” when you give your seat to an old man, or a woman with her baby? How do you feel if they take your seat without even taking a look at you? Would you be angry? You are given 60 minutes to state your view on the topic within less than 300 words. You can add a title by yourself. “Thank you”—a powerful gift Recently, some individuals would not give their seats to the old or the pregnant as the result of no reaction given back. Naturally, problems arouses: Must we demand a “thank you”when we give a seat to others? As my opinion, a “thank you” is both beneficial to the seat sharers and the ones who take the seat. A smile and a “thank you”paid back can promote the phenomenon of giving seats and enhance the moral value of the society. The first time I gave my seats to a pregnant and she smiled to me saying “thank you”. That time I felt the flower of my heart come out and bloomed .So I kept on doing that until an old lady once stared at me without saying a word when I gave my seat to her. I felt as if I would never do that again and got off of the bus. Apparently, the simple smile and words motivate people to do more moral things for the ones needing help while everyone is longing for a “thanks”when they do things for you. Your reactions are really important to others. If we are ignored by the ones who take your seat, do not be sad and keep on doing the things we think are right. We might be disappointed ,or even sad, when we are ignored as our own view. But have you ever thought that the impolite actions might be reasonable? Maybe those individuals were in a bad mood and did not tend to talk to anyone else. Or maybe they just got some bad news of their body and were extremely week so that they could not make an reaction. Standing in others view can always alleviate our disappointment on them and encourage us to keep on the good things. We should always believe that the world ,with our positive outlook and action, will be increasingly beautiful and warm and advance morally. In conclusion, we should continue to give seats to others and give others a thank you and a smile when they do the same to us. Like the saying : “Giving others roses and the scent will remain.”Let’s make our slightest action as a gift to others and contribute to a happier world positively. 10 Directions: Chinese people always have the tradition of helping others; regardless of a friend or a stranger. However, in recent years, people find that when they try to help others, some changes are taking places. One of the most common examples is that, a passer-by who sent an injured senior people to hospital would be very likely to be recognized as the accident-maker. This kind of events is being rerun again and again. When trapped in the dilemma of tradition and trouble, what would be your choice?
