《传播学教程》 第一章传播学的研究对象与基本问题 第一节从传播定义看传播学的研究对象 一、如何把握传播概念 (一)关于传播的定义与传统 1、社会学传统:美—库利——社会互动理论倡始人。强调传播的社会关系性,把传播看做是人与人关系得以成立和发展的基础。 2、符号学或语义学传统:美—皮尔士——符号学的创始人,强调符号作为精神内容的载体在传播中所起的特殊作用。 3、他们开创了界定传播概念的两传统,一是社会学的传统,一是符号学或语义学的传统。后来,这两传统逐渐发生融合。信息概念引入后,人与人之间的社会互动行为的介质是作为意义和符号、精神内容和物质载体之统一体的信息。 (二)传播的实质与其他定义 1、传播的实质:是一种社会互动行为,人们通过传播保持着相互作用和影响的关系。 2、施拉姆:当我们从事传播的时候,也就是在试图与其他人共享信息——某个观点或某个态度。传播至少有三个要素:信源、讯息和信宿。 3、阿耶尔:传播在广义上指的是信息的传递,它不仅包括接触新闻,而且包括表达感情、期待、命令、愿望或其他任何什么。 二、传播与信息:传播学考察的主要对象—始终都是人类的社会信息及其传播活动 (一)社会信息科学与传播学 1、社会信息与自然界的其他信息的联系和区别 A.联系(共同点):以质、能波动的形式表现出来。精神内容的载体都表现为一定的物质讯号,作用于人的感觉系统并引起反馈。因此,社会信息也具有物质属性(至少就精神内容与载体的不可分离性而言)。 B.区别:为什么说“信息是物理载体和意义构成的统一整体”? 《大众传播学通论》 第一章导论 第一节传播与传播学 一、什么是传播 1、传播是人类交流信息的一种社会性行为,是人与人之间,人与他们所属的群体、组织之间,通过有意义的符号所进行的信息传递、接受与反馈的行为总称。 2、三种定义类型 (1)共享说:强调“传者”与“受传者”对信息的分享。指人们在传播时,总是努力想同谁确立“共同的东西”。代表人物是美国传播学集大成者施拉姆,但是,共享说无法概括拒斥、不通、误解、独处等传播现象。(“心有灵犀一点通”可谓是对信息共享过程中最佳状态的描述。) (2)交流说:强调传播是“用语言交流思想、观念、情感,已建立和巩固人际关系的过程”。代表人物是美国学者 E.T·霍尔。交流说忽视了除语言之外的其他符号系统的重要性。 (3)信息说:即传播就是信息的流动过程,信息是人们对接触到的讯息,“排除不确定因素”后,从中选择出自己所需要的那部分内容,而语言就是这些内容的载体。忽略传播过程的“环生态”现实而留下的遗憾。代表人物是C.E·申农和W·韦弗。 3、传播层次: (1)自我传播:指不起交际作用的内部信息交流过程,是个人处于感知和理解时的言语活动。表征是“不出声”。(米德的“主我与客我”理论、“自我互动”的理论、“内省式”思考——郭书P78) 特点:“传播者”与“受传者”角色重叠,往往表现为矛盾的统一体;所传信息不与人分享;由大脑储存信息量的多少决定自我传播的活跃程度,同时,自我传播的自觉程度也决定着大脑对有效信息的储存状态。 (2)人际传播:指个人与个人之间直接的信息传播活动,是社会生活中最直观、最常见、最丰富的传播现象。 作用:A教化作用;B联系作用;C协调作用 特点:信息交流渠道多、形式多样,可以面对面直接交流,也可以通过电话、电子邮件等通讯媒体“准间接交流”;交流符号可以用语言,也可以用言语或非言语符号交流,甚至是多种符号复合式使用;人际传播构成一种双向的动态系统,传者与受传者的角色可以在相互作用中随机互换,反馈非常及时。 (3)群体传播:群体指通过一定的社会关系结合起来进行共同活动的团体。分为正式群体(组织传播)和非正式群体(群体传播)。正式群体是指人们在共同利益制衡和理性认知基础上自觉建立的社会组织。非正式群体指以个人好恶、兴趣、认知水平为基础,自发形成的无固定目标、成员间无地位差异、彼此同情、价值观趋同的舆论群体。(郭书P89-98)特点:A群体传播对成员保持一种亲和力和凝聚力,个人参与群体传播会受到影响。 B、成员之间的关系靠传播过程中的心领神会、彼此认同来维系和发展。 C、成员往往会承认群体中的权威和个别人的威望。 D、群体传播是一种开放形式,成员可以自由进出。 补充知识点: 1、群体意识:参加群体的成员所共有的意识。 2、群体规范:指成员个人在群体活动中必须遵守的规则。群规不仅对群体内的传播活
