Middle school students should not be allowed to use mobile phones Honorable judges, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen, I am the leader of the opposition.Our opinion is that middle school students should not be allowed to use mobile phones.

As we all know, with the development of society, more and more students are having mobile phones. We must admit that mobile phones have brought us many benefits, such as chatting wherever we are, getting and sending emails, taking photos, playing games and so on. They are given as presents from parents, friends or relatives. In my opinion, for these middle school students, the disadvantages are much more obvious than advantages of using mobile phone.

Firstly, mobile phones will distract students from listening to the teachers in class. For example, while we are having class, the student is using mobile phones to send messages or surfing internet, and the mobile phone rings, no doubt, it will disturb teachers teaching class and the other students learning. So it will have a negative effect on their study.

Secondly, it is clear to us that using mobile phones for long will do harm to students’ health and brain. Some student s are not concern about the safe way of using mobile phones and they will be affected by radiation. We all know the harm of radiation, so students should not use mobile phones for long. They are at the age of growing body, so this may influence their development.

Thirdly, mobile phones have many attractions such as a new world for entertainment, students may addict to playing games, surfing some unhealthy websites, listening music, spreading or getting some harmful information and so on. This will divert their attention on learning, and will seriously influence their study.

Fourthly, student who has a mobile phone may compare to the other students. If their mobile phones are not good enough for its function or appearance or other aspects, they will ask their parents for a better one. Furthermore, this may attribute to their feeling of dependence. They will rely on their parents and underachievers. When they grow up and can’t earn for their lives and just rely on their parents, what a sad thing for their lives.

Last but not least, using mobile phones will add their parent’s burden. Those students whose family is not wealth, if the fee of mobile phone each month is 50 yuan and a year will be 600 yuan, so it will be a new burden for their parents.

We admit that mobile phones have many benefits for our daily lives, but for those middle school students who are not have a better self-control, mobile phones will do harm to their mind and body. Middle school students should not be allowed to use mobile phones. Those parents all have a good expectation for their children’s future. They choose to let them study hard and learn useful technology but for addicted to mobile phones. We must recognize these bad affects on students, no matter on study or their study.

For example, during the class some students are using mobile phones and ring, it will disturb teachers teaching class and the other students learning. So it will have a negative effect on their study. And many school are not allowed students to use mobile phones, this will go against the school disciplines.

We know that mobile phone is a necessary communicate tool in our daily lives, it brings us a lot of benefits. But we still hold the idea that middle school students should not use mobile phones. At this stage, we have a better solution to solve the problem.

Firstly, those students who are long time live in school and far away from home and have some urgency things can use public telephone. School all has its own public telephones, so it brings many benefits to those students.

Secondly, those students who has mobile phone should not use on class and it go against the school disciplines. Parents should take it back and urge their children to study hard.

Thirdly, students should not ask their parents to buy mobile phones and some better things. They cannot have the habit to seriously dependent on their parents. And students should learn to save money and understand their parents.

At last, for the benefit of students’health and further development, mobile phones should not be allowed to use.
