i am very glad to stand here and deliver a speech. 2008 sees the joys and sorrows of china. the snow disaster ,the

earthquake and the olympics all happened in this particular year. we

chinese had never suffered such disaters and held the olympics for the

first time. that was a big challenge for us. but the strong chinese

nation would fight until he dropped! just as the saying goes, when the

going gets tough, the tough gets going. hard work paid off. the disasters

has gone by and the olympics has been a big hit throughout the world. thank you!

ó￠ó??Y?2±èèü??￡owe are family 2008 is a special year for beijing for the olympic games. it is a

special year for me too. i watched 8 games. the olympic games let me

know, for all of the people in the world, we are family. in the 16

days, i saw different people from different countries. i heard different

languages in the world. i sat next to english, american, canadian and

korean when watching hockey games. i shouted ?°go! go! go!?± with

argentinian and serbian when watching football match. in the olympic

park, australian friends shared their small gifts with russian, german,

french and chinese. everybody from different countries smiled at each

other. everybody was friendly to each other in these 16 days. this is olympic. it brings friendship, it brings peace.

i will remember the beijing olympic games in my life. in 2008, i understand, we are living in earth village.

i think the most unbelievable news in the last century is we are

genetically 99.9% the same. do you feel a little excited, now? i did,

when i first time heard it from the radio. and suddenly realized that

citizenship?± just like with the character. however, same to the character, global citizenship is not only

accepted by oneself ,but also by others. as traditional chinese saying

the development of traditional culture : the 21st century has started a new history . great changes have

taken place in the world because of the prosperous development of

technology and science . some of you might have noticed that more and more people around us have

success. success is getting up one more time than you fall down. but

self-confidence is essential to success . self-confidence means the firm belief that you can do things well.

it is believed to be the first secret of success. if you want to succeed

in doing anything, you must have confidence in your abilities. and i deeply aware that nothing can defeat a person who full of confidence. self-confidence gives you light when you are in dark, and gives you

encouragement when you are disappointed. it is self-confidence that

inspires you to cope with any hard task. with self-confidence, you

believe that you can and will succeed, and this gives you the courage

to try new things.

are only lame excuses. when our heart is void of self-confidence, every

hope is gone, we will always living in the moments of fear and

thoughtless.

of them, i find it most inspiring that people?ˉs perception of the

post-80 generation has been greatly changed. once labeled as indifferent and self-centered, we grow under immense

concerns and criticism. what we did during the earthquake has made the

worries eliminated and the disapprovals discarded. we were the nurses

fighting 48 consecutive hours to save lives. we were the young teachers

however, that is far from enough. we were also the young girl with

girlfriend about their wedding ceremony until he lost his voice, and,

do we care too much about what the rest of the world thinks about

our country?

i think we do not care too much. and actually, we have a lot more

to care about, because we have certain image problems in some parts

of the world. and that

cultures. but they fail to understand what more than china is, what

should olympic champions enjoy preferential treatment when applying

to universities?

like what?ˉs said in the video, universities are a higher education.

if these people have preferential treatments, then their starting point

would be lower than the other students in the same university. it may

seem nice; it may seem cool; it may seem fair when they step into these

doors. but after, when once they step in, they may find it and the last point, our world is a world of diversity. we need people

who are good at something they love and they can do, not a lot of people

can do anything, but nothing good. just like clockwork, everything works

in a specific way, so they can work together?- taking on my challenges ladies and gentlemen: i grew up in a city by the yangtze river where water never poses

a subject of any great moment. the abundant water resource is like a

cozy cradle, breeding me, raising me and blessing me, and it frees me

from any concern for water shortage. however, during my stay in sydney

this summer, some trifles challenged the thoughts and ideas that dwelled

in my mind. with no choice but to take on challenges and adapt to changes. the

moment bits and pieces of challenges to my old lifestyle trickled in,
