innovative slip ring design
on-shore standards up to 2 MW Whenever power and signals have to be transmitted from stationary to rotating facilities e. g. signals from the generator head to the rotor blades, or network technology data (Profibus, Fast Ethernet 100 Base Tx a. o.) SCHLEIFRING systems are the answer.
Rotating couplers for wind power application require demanding developments, application specific solutions in a compact design and absolute reliable performance even under extreme environmental conditions to minimize the expenditure of maintenance.

After the first oil crisis in 1973, early wind turbine
development was pushed from simultaneous
research programs on very large machines in
Germany, USA, Sweden, the UK, or Canada. In the
end, improved versions of the classical, three-bladed
upwind design appeared as the commercial winner
of this wild competition. The 55 kW generation of
wind turbines which were developed in 1980 - 1981
became the industrial and technological
breakthrough for modern wind turbines. From the
very beginning we accompanied these developments
with slip ring systems made by SCHLEIFRING.
The early Oahu Wind Turbine is equipped with a 120-way
slip ring mady by SCHLEFIRING. Total length: 3.6 meters
Compact standard slip ring design for on-shore wind turbines up to 2 MW Innovative technologies and designs based on decades of experience added by a total sense of dedication to perfection form the foundation for products with high precision and dependability.
Being designed for wind turbine industries these electrical standard slip rings are used in multiple rotating on-shore and off-shore applications. Robust design and special precious metal contact configuration result in extremely long life with a minimum of maintenance required. Highest flexibility regarding specification of the flange connection, connectors and integration of additional rotary elements is the basis of this series to meet the requirements of the most demanding wind turbine applications.
