六、语法项目：

直接引语和间接引语：

直接引语就是直接引用或复述别人所讲的话。直接引语一般放在引号之内。用自己的语言转述别人的话叫间接引语。间接引语一般用宾语从句或带动词不定式的复合宾语表达。下面我们主要介绍如何将直接引语转换为间接引语：

（1）间接引语的时态往往受引述动词的影响，如果动词是过去时，间接引语的时态通常也是过去的某种时态，同时将人称根据上下文进行调整，当引述词是过去式时，间接引语的时态变化如下表：

Mr Green answered, “I work for a computer company.”

格林先生回答说：“我为一家电脑公司工作。”

Mr. Green answered that he worked for a computer company.

格林先生说他为一家电脑公司工作。

Mom said to me, “We’ll have a visitor this Sunday.”妈妈对我说：“我们周日会有客人来。”

Mom told me that we would have a visitor this Sunday. 妈妈告诉我这周日我们家会来客人。

（2）如果被引述的句子是关于客观真理时，时态可以不变。例如：

Dad said, “The earth goes around the sun.” 爸爸说：“地球围绕着太阳转。”

Dad told me that the earth goes around the sun爸爸告诉我地球围绕着太阳转。

（3）如果直接引语是陈述句，在变为间接引语时，由连词that引导（that 可以省略）。主句中如果有say to somebody，通常变为tell somebody。例如：

Grace said to Alex, “I will go shopping and buy some presents for my parents.”

格蕾丝告诉亚历克斯：“我要去购物，给我父母买些礼物。”

Grace told Alex that she would go shopping and buy some presents for her parents.

格蕾丝告诉亚历克斯她要去购物并给她父母买些礼物。

如果直接引语是两个并列的陈述句，变为间接引语时，第一个宾语从句前的that 有时可以省略，但第二个宾语从句前的that 不可省略。

“That is a very big duckling,” she said, “None of the others look like that.”
