Part 3 Grammar--过去进行时

一、定义

表示过去某时正在进行的动作,其结构为:was, were+动词的-ing;常和this morning, the whole morning, all day yesterday, from nine to ten last evening, when, while等时间状语连用。

如:My brother fell down while he was riding his bicycle and hurt himself.

It was raining when they left the station.

When I got to the top of the mountain, the sun was shining.

二、主要用法

1. 表示过去某一时间内或某个时刻(正在)进行的动作。

如:I was doing my homework at 9 o'clock p.m. last Sunday.

2. 表示一个过去的动作发生时或发生后,另一个过去的动作正在进行,也可以用来表示过

去一段时间内持续发生的动作。

如:When I got home, she was studying.

3. 表示两个过去的动作同时进行,这时可用连接词while连接。

如:I was reading books, while he was cleaning the floor.

4. 表示过去将要发生的动作。

如:She told us Mr. Lee was arriving here.

通常不能用于过去进行时的动词主要有:agree, be, believe, belong, care, forget, hate, have(拥有), hear, know, like, love, mean, mind, notice, own, remember, seem, suppose, understand, want, wish等。

例如:误:I was knowing the answer.

正:I knew the answer. 我知道答案。

三、when, while, as在过去进行中中的用法和区别

三者都有“当……的时候”的含义,但是在进行时中用法有所差异。

1. 若主句表示的是一个短暂性动作,从句表示的是一个持续性动作,三者都可用:

He fell asleep when [while, as] he was reading. 他看书时睡着了。

2.若主、从句表示两个同时进行的持续性动作,且强调主句表示的动作延续到从句所指的

整个时间,通常要用 while:

Don’t talk while you’re eating. 吃饭时不要说话。

I kept silent while he was writing. 在他写的时候,我默不做声。

但是,若主从句表示的两个同时进行的动作含有“一边…一边”之意思,通常用 as:She sang as she went along. 她边走边唱。

3. 若从句是一个短暂性动作,主句是一个持续性动作,可用 as / when 但不用 while:

It was raining hard when [as] we arrived. 我们到达时正下着大雨。

初中英语校本课程 后西中学孙明霞 改革传统教学模式,为学生营造一个良好的英语学习氛围,培养学生敢于、善于开口说英语的习惯,在交往实践中激发学生学习英语的兴趣,“学(英语)以致用”是我校英语校本课程开发和建设的目标。在课程的研究与实践中我们不断地探索并逐步积累教学经验,下面是我教授的英语课的教学设计和自己的思考,渴望得到老师们有关课堂教学设计的指导,同时希望多些这方面的探讨。 一、课例设计 (课前背景音乐:Jingle Bell. 这是一首著名的英语节日歌曲,课前反复播放让学生熟悉曲调,用其明快的节奏营造气氛。) 1、竞赛小组划分:为形成竞争机制,易于进行有效评价,把学生分成四大组。学生每参与一次课堂活动,可为小组赢得1分,得分最多的小组,将有权选代表到台前装饰一个有趣的笑脸(教师在提出要求前在黑板上画出一个不完整的简笔画“脸”,并且列出ABCD四组记分栏)。 2、才艺展示(Talent Show):个人或小组集体演唱学生们喜闻乐见的英文歌曲。 3、猜词游戏(Guessing Words) ①、教师利用多媒体展示有关动物,职业,生活用品,食物等词汇,小组内复习巩固已学单词,交流新单词。 ②、每组选派两名同学,一位同学用英文描述或动作示意看到的单词,另一位同学说出单词。以规定时间内猜出单词的数量记分。

初中英语听力教学设计 我们一般把听力教学分为三段,即:听前阶段(pre-listening),听时阶段(while-listening),听后阶段(post-listening)。 1. 听前阶段(pre-listening) 此阶段虽是准备阶段,很重要。学生能否顺利获取信息在一定程度上取决于他们对听力材料背景知识的熟悉程度。因此,在听力活动前应巧妙设计过渡性的任务作铺垫,可根据相关话题提些启发性问题及必要的热身训练激活背景知识,给学生提供必要的语境,引入话题,导出生词,降低难度,使之产生联想,激发其“听”的欲望,让学生想听、会听。所以,听前阶段应该激发学生的“听”欲,使其“想听”。 2. 听时阶段(while-listening) 此阶段是听力训练的实质性阶段,教师应有目的地教给学生一些听力技巧。如:要指导学生“要边听边记,强化记忆,记录时要有重点,有技巧:先填该词的前几个字母,可节省时间来听下一空,稍后再补充完整。培养学生听“主题大意、抓关键信息、合理推理及捕捉具体细节”等方面的能力。因此,听中设计要充分考虑这些要求,使学生能听,听懂。教师要多点引导,少点批评,使其发挥正常的听力水平。听力任务设计要把握好“难”度,使其“能”听。 3. 听后阶段(post-listening) 这是听力训练的巩固阶段。听说读写四项技能既相对独立,又相互联系,要全面发展。即使是单项技能课,教师也要体现语言技能综合性原则。因此,在以提高听力技能为主的听力课上,也要根据实际初中英语听力,将它与说、读、写有机地结合起来,既有侧重,又全面发展。所以在听之后应该充分挖掘资源,使其“延”听。我们平时的课堂上在听力之后还有填空、pairwork等。 听力设计虽没有固定的模式,却有其内在的规律。教师只有树立“以人为本”的思想,精心设计听力教学的各个环节,充分调动学生积极性,有效开展听前、听中、听后活动,才能把学生通过听力材料所获得的语言知识和语用知识有效地转化为听、说、读、写的综合能力。总之, 提高听力理解能力是一个反复实践的、持久的过程,需要我们教师在实际教学中不断探索新的听力教学策略,再掌握一些合理的听力技巧,师生共同努力初中英语听力,课内外结合,才能取得良好的效果。 我们一直在进行听力教学研究,但是很多老师对初中听力教学很是迷惑,因为根本就没有明确的一些指导思想或明确的实施方案,而很多老师又缺乏在课堂实践过程中进行探索,其实这也是有点不切实际的,我们的平时课堂都是听说课型和读写课型及单元复习课型,很少有专门的听力教学课型。今天晚上阅读了《浅谈初中英语教学中的听力设计》一文,对听力教学设计略有感想。
