If you are like most people, your intelligence varies from season to season. Y ou are probably a lot sharper in the spring than you are at any other time of year. A noted scientist, Edworth Huntingon (1876-1947), concluded from other men’s work and his own among peoples in different climates that climate and temperature have a definite effect on our mental abilities.

He found that cool weather is much more favorable for creative thinking than in summer heat. This does not mean that all people are less intelligent in summer than they are during the rest of year. When companies need new employees, they usually place advertisements in newspapers in order to attract as many applicants as possible. But many large well-known companies hire new people frequently without putting advertisements in newspaper, because they already have many resumes on file. Therefore, it is not always best to apply only to companies that place ads in newspapers. A person looking for a job is advised to send his resume with a cover letter to a well-know company even if a position is not then open.
