My groundless belief

My groundless belief A groundless belief is one that has no convincing basis. Actually there are lots of groundless beliefs which I hold, but it really takes time to find some of them out. I believe that our family will still keep us company and keep looking at us after their death. Maybe I hold this belief because I have read many stories about conversations between living people and dead people's souls. I already know this is groundless and that this may seem absurd in some people's mind. I am an atheist myself, however, I believe strongly that my family never leave me.Maybe this can be regarded as a wish, though it may be a little bit superstitious.Whenever I get frustrated or anxious, I would talk to them in my heart. In this way, I get comfort and encouragement that I need to go on. These beliefs give me strength. In this way, I won't change this belief. After all, it does no harm. Besides, it always happens to me that I suddenly find that things are not like what I have kept in mind for many years. For instance, not all Americans are very rich and many of them live on debts. Another example is that when I was young I think what adults said is all right, but as I grow up, I come to realize that some of their opinions are wrong and we shouldn't blindly be obedient to them. These groundless beliefs come into being because of the circumstances I am in. As I grow up, I come to realize there is really something called stereotype. We grow up in a certain kind of environment, our thought pattern therefore is constructed in a certain way. It's really hard to jump out of it and think in another way.Fortunately, as we get in touch with others' minds and step out to explore the outside world, we can know more and be aware of our defects, then we can perfect our own idea. As time is limited, it is hard for me to do a thorough research. But what is important is that once we find a groundless belief, we should analyze and deal with it. The access to a mature mind is just the process of keeping rationalizing our ideas.

Belief(信念)

Belief Belief is a quality with which are can bravely face and go through his difficult times and find his aims in life. The function of belief in our society is quiet obvious, and the following are a few aspects where it can play an indispensable role. Belief can help us face and go through difficult times. We simply can not expect an obstacle-free path to our destinations. In the course of our life, there will be difficulties or even times when we think it would be impossible for us to move forward. This kind of situation would be confronted with by a businessman whose ideas can not be accepted by the market, who runs out of money at the middle of his business plan, or a researcher whose experiment gets stuck in and it seems impossible to produce any measurable result. And the list can really go on and on, and we can all relate to one of the pictures presented at some point. When we have a strong belief at heart to support us, to guide us, we will finally get out of the darkness, and use the strong motivational power to reach our goal at last. Belief can provide the aim and purpose in life for us in case we feel lost. And life can be simplified to be a series of actions to set up and then to reach a goal. If this is the case, we have to face many occasions when we have reached a goal, and we are stuck in

英国文学史名词解释

1. Ballad(民谣) A ballad originally is a song intended as an accompaniment to a dance or a popular song. In the relatively recent sense, now most widely used, a ballad is a single, spirited poem in short stanzas, in which some popular story is graphically narrated. The ingredients of ballads usually include a refrain, stock descriptive phrases, and simple, terse dialogue. 2. Alliteration(头韵) It refers to a repeated initial consonant to successive words and it is the most striking feature in its poetic form. In alliterative verse, certain accented words in a line begin with the same consonant sound. There are generally 4 accents in a line, three of which show alliteration, and it is the initial sound of the third accented syllable that normally determiners the alliteration. In old English verse, alliteration is not an unusual or expressive phenomenon but a regular recurring structural feature of the verse. 3. Sonnet (十四行诗) It is a poem of 14 lines (of 11 syllables in Italian and 10 in English), typically in rhymed iambic pentameter. Sonnets characteristically express a single theme or idea. The sonnet was introduced to England by Sir T. Wyatt and developed Henry Howard (Earl of Surrey) and was thereafter widely used notably in the sonnet sequences of Shakespeare, Sidney, and Spenser. 4. Tragedy(悲剧) The word is applied broadly to dramatic works in which events move to a fatal or disastrous conclusion. It is concerned with the harshness and apparent injustice of life. Often the hero falls from power and his eventual death leads to the downfall of others. The tragic action arouses feelings of awe in the audience. 5. Lyric(抒情诗) As a genre, it was the tradition of popular song flourishing in all the medieval literatures of Western Europe. In England lyric poems flourished in the Middle English period, and in the 16th century, heyday of humanism. This tradition was enriched by the direct imitation of ancient models. During the next 200 years the links between poetry and music was gradually broken, and the term “lyric” came to be applied to short poems expressive of a poet’s thoughts or feelings. 6. Epic(史诗) It is a poem that celebrates in the form of a continuous narrative the achievements of one or more heroic personages of history or tradition. Among the great epics of the world may be mentioned the Iliad, Odyssey, Aeneid, and Paradise Lost. 7. Renaissance(文艺复兴) The word “renaissance” means rebirth or revival. It is commonly applied to the movement or period of great flowering of art, architecture, politics, and the study of literature, usually seen as the end of the Middle Ages and the beginning of the Modern worn world. It came about under the influence of Greek and Roman models. It began in Italy in the late 14th century, reached the highest development in the early 16th century, and spread to the rest of Europe in the 15th century and afterwards. Its emphasis was humanist: that is , on regarding the human figure and reason without a necessary relating of it to the superhuman.

Belief is everything (中英文)

Belief is everything If you want to change your life, I mean radically improve your life, you must first change your perception of yourself. It comes down to beliefs, because at the end of the day, no matter how hard you work, no matter how many hours you put in, if you don't believe you can do it, you won't do it. You won't do it, because when you get to that impossible moment, you'll quit. You'll procrastinate. You'll come up with all sorts of excuses because you don't believe you can do it. But if you identify yourself as someone who does achieve that particular thing, when you get to those impossible moments, you will rise to the occasion! You will rise! You will rise because you will believe you can do it. Even if there's only 1% of people in the world capable of achieving it, you'll believe you are in that one percent. Because you identify yourself as a winner, you identify yourself as someone who will do whatever it takes, someone who is willing to go through the pain to get to the other side. You identify yourself as someone who will win, in the end, no matter what.

In this paper, deep belief nets (DBN), which is a classifier of a combination of several unsupervised learning networks, named RBM (restricted Boltzmann machine) and a supervised learning network named BP (back-propagation), is presented to detect and classify the relationships among Chinese name entities. The RBM layers maintain as much information as possible when feature vectors are transferred to next layer. The BP layer is trained to classify the features generated by the last RBM layer. The experiments are conducted on the Automatic Content Extraction 2004 dataset. This paper proves that a character-based feature is more suitable for Chinese relation extraction than a word-based feature. In addition, the paper also performs a set of experiments to assess the Chinese relation extraction on different assumptions of an entity categorization feature. These experiments showed the comparison among models with correct entity types and imperfect entity type classified by DBN and without entity type. The results show that DBN is a successful approach in the high-dimensional-feature-space information extraction task. It outperforms state-of-the-art learning models such as SVM and back-propagation networks.
