基于多媒体网络技术的大学英语 教学模式初探 陈 蕾 (河南工业大学外语学院,河南郑州 450052) 摘 要:多媒体与网络技术的日益发展,促使了传统英语教学模式的变革。多媒体网络技术条件下,网络英语教学模式是双向的、互动的、开放的。在该模式下进行英语教学,对于提高英语教学效果有一定的促进作用。 关键词:网络教学模式;大学英语教学;多媒体;网络 中图分类号:G712 文献标识码:A 文章编号:1008-7516(2006)05-0111-02 一、传统大学英语教学模式的弊端 长期以来,我国大学英语教学一直以“教师讲授、学生听讲”这种传统的英语教学模式为主,尽管这种模式的产生是语言学习过程中诸多因素综合作用的结果,但在具体实践的过程中却有不少的问题。 (一)语言学习的主体错位 语言学习的主体应该是学生,但传统的英语教学模式在整个课堂教学过程中始终以教师为中心,一支粉笔、一张嘴占据了整个课堂,学生一直处于消极被动的地位。这种模式忽视了学生独立获取知识以及实际运用语言能力的培养,导致学生很难主动参与课堂学习,课堂气氛不活跃,语言学习变得枯燥无味,使学生的英语学习缺乏主动性、自主性和创造性。任何语言都是一种交流工具,只有让学生积极主动参与到语言交流学习过程中,他们才能真正领悟和理解语言,才能真正学会运用语言。 (二)英语教学单调乏味 近年来,由于高校大量扩招,导致英语教师严重缺编,大学英语教学基本上都是大班上课,每个教学班至少有两三个小班组成。面对如此多的学生,在课堂上教师根本无法开展诸如小组活动、角色扮演、课堂提问等生动活泼的教学活动,为了应付考试,教师不得不继续采用以教师为中心的传统的“满堂灌、满堂记”的教学方法。另外,传统的教科书虽然以图文为主,但都是静态的,内容陈旧,单一乏味,缺乏生动形象的语言环境,使得学生在课堂学习中普遍感到疲倦厌学,严重影响课堂教学的效果。 (三)无法兼顾学生的个体差异 学生无论在个性还是在学习方法方面都存在着个体差异,这种差异在英语学习中体现得更为突出。但由于各方面主、客观条件的限制,教师没有足够的时间和精力针对各个学生的具体情况进行必要的大量的操练与辅导,只能为照顾大多数学生的英语水平而顾此失彼,不利于整体教学质量的提高。 计算机多媒体网络技术的发展对传统的英语教学模式产生了巨大的冲击,多媒体网络技术具有交互性、形象性和高效性等特点,为英语教学打开了新天地,将多媒体网络技术运用于英语教学,可有效克服传统教学模式的弊病,最终将建立起一种新型的教育模式。 二、基于多媒体网络技术的大学英语教学模式 基于多媒体网络技术的大学英语教学模式就是利用计算机多媒体技术结合网络技术,打破时间和空间的界限,而建立的一种互动开放型的英语教学模式。 (一)实现多媒体网络英语教学的基础条件 111 2006年第5期 河南职业技术师范学院学报(职业教育版) 收稿日期:2006-07-20 作者简介:陈 蕾(1978—),女,河南西平人,河南工业大学外语学院讲师,主要研究方向为英语应用语言学。

网络多媒体技术与英语教学 发表时间:2009-11-18T10:30:41.513Z 来源:《中外企业家》2009年第5期下供稿作者:薛小妹(西安欧亚学院,西安 710065) [导读] 随着网络时代的到来,信息技术已逐步深入到各个领域 摘要:随着网络时代的到来,信息技术已逐步深入到各个领域,并在各个领域发挥了越来越重要的作用。那么,在现代教育中,通过网络多媒体技术辅助教学已经越来越引起教育者的关注。通过分析英语教学与网络的关系,网络时代对英语教学提出的新的要求,发现网络多媒体技术在英语教学中的优点,提出可将网络多媒体技术应用于英语教学的观点,并提出了应该注意的问题。 关键词:网络多媒体技术;课程整合;课件教学;英语教学 中图分类号:G424 文献标识码:A 文章编号:1000-8772(2009)10-0179-02 一、英语与网络的关系 英语作为吸取人类文明成果和对外交流的重要工具,能否有效地提高质量将直接影响我国综合国力和国际竞争能力的增强。因此如何调动学生学习英语的热情,使他们全身心地投入到英语学习中去,是我们全体英语老师必须思考的一个重要问题。在当今信息社会,计算机已被认为是现代人不可缺少的基本技能。而当今的学生对于电脑、对于网络有着空前的热情,这是由于网络作为全球信息中心的特性所决定的。而想要真正地、充分地享受网络所带给我们的好处、便利和乐趣,掌握英语这门语言,是驶上Internet这条信息高速公路的必要的交通工具。反之,网络无所不包的特性,又为英语学习者提供了广阔的学习天地。因此,作为一个英语教师,如何把这两者紧密的联系起来,是摆在我们所有教师面前的一个重要课题。 二、网络多媒体技术在英语教学中的优点 “多媒体课件”简单来说就是老师用来辅助教学的工具,创作人员根据自己的创意,先从总体上对信息进行分类组织,然后把文字、图形、图像、声音、动画、影像等多种媒体素材在时间和空间两方面进行集成,使它们融为一体并赋予它们以交互特性,从而制作出各种精彩纷呈的多媒体应用软件产品。多媒体课件教学具有以下几个优点: 1.大大增加了课堂知识容量,提高了课堂效果。传统教学中课堂知识的传播主要来源于教师的口授与黑板板书,这两者速度的局限性限制课堂信息含量,使之具有一定的局限性。而通过多媒体课件,教师把课堂的主要内容,要点,通过投影让学生掌握,大大节约了黑板板书时间,让学生一目了然。 2.影音媒体的应用使课堂丰富多彩。传统教学中信息的传播依赖于老师的语言和板书,再会调动课堂气氛的教师也有疲惫的时候,而课件教学中影音媒体的应用却大大调动了课堂气氛。 3.课件教学能有效的解决教学难点。在教学中遇到比较抽象的知识点时,单凭老师的讲解会显得枯燥乏味,或有些知识凭老师的叙述,学生无法清晰的理解。这时候课件教学却能收到奇特的效果。 三、英语教学中网络课件的应用 网络教学其教学活动的组织不可能仅仅依托网络,而是在传统的课堂、网络等方面同时展开。具体到我们所设计的教学课件中,其在教学过程中的使用主要为以下三个方面: (一)课堂辅助教学过程 当网络多媒体课件应用于常规的课堂教学时,和我们以往所使用的多媒体辅助教学课件的功能基本是相同的。在这里我依然想简单地陈述一下使用时应注意的几个方面: 1.教师应发挥其主导作用。在英语课堂上,教师所具有的很多作用是计算机的功能所不可取代的。师生之间课堂上互动性的交流是最有效的教和学的途径。因此,英语课堂上开始时的Free Talk、Duty Report,及师生之间的口头交流依然保留,教师仍然应该是整个教学活动的组织者和灵魂。媒体始终应该是教师教学活动的辅助设备,是处在被支配的地位,只有将教师的理念和创造性赋予其中,才能真正显示出其活力。 2.发挥学生的主体性。我们在制作课件时,应充分体现学生的主动性和创造性,多为学生创造思考的空间。这就要求教师在使用多媒体辅助教学系统时,要善于通过多媒体教学系统引导学生思考、讨论、回答问题,而不是限制学生的思维,被动地跟着老师走。 (二)评价反馈自主学习过程 当课堂教学进行到了一定程度,学生们对本课内容、情境有了基本认识之后,下一步,开始让学生在学校自己上网,复习、补充、验证自己课堂学习效果。因为在最初课件制作中,我们已经将所有的教学目标,课文内容讲解、分析、录音、习题,课外补充知识等都放在了课件之中,所以,学生们只要登陆上网站,就可以自主地选择学习内容、方式,学习在课堂上未能完全理解、接受的知识体系。对于其不理解的问题,即可以直接向教师提问,也可以在BBS上留言进行讨论或等待教师回答。 (三)网络研究性学习过程 比如在我所设计的“Dealing with Aids”一课中,加入了很多关于本课的课外知识内容,及一些扩展知识相关网站的超级链接,并且根据教学需要调整了相应BBS内容,以便于师生们通过BBS实时进行交流讨论。 在对课本基础知识有了较完整理解后,由任课教师提出研究性课题内容“Nowadays How about the sex education in China?”要求学生分小组上网浏览查找相关内容,将自己的论点、论据整理起来,供大家研究。最后,还要请同学们上来用口头语言表达,以达到想、说、写同时训练的目的。 四、值得注意的问题 (一)唯网至上 网络引进教育教学,有目共睹的网络给教育教学带来了一次深刻的革命,但它不能代替学生的操作、实践等活动,也不能取代教师的地位,它只是一个帮助我们认识世界的好工具。 (二)操作技能 网络是一把锋利的双刃剑。师生操作技能的高低直接影响到教学效果的好坏,加强网络技术操作技能的培养十分重要。教师素质的提
