1. A camel is much inferior to an elephant in strength.

2. It was very quiet at the moment.

(省译it)

3. Don’t put your hands in your rocket.

4. Those who are in favour please hold up their hands.

1. It has been three years since he began to smoke.

2. Instead of one old woman knocking me about and starving me, everybody of all ages knocked me about and starved me.

3. It is required that the machine should be maintained at regular intervals.

4. Williams Sidney Porter, who is known under his pen name, O. Henry, is one of the best known writers of America.

5. There was no snow, the leaves were gone from the trees, the grass was dead.

The ones who concerned me were the mouthy college kids traveling to school; the yuppie snobs who secretly polish their silverware with their napkins for fear of catching some dreaded “truck-stop germ;”and the pairs of white-shirted businessmen on expense accounts who think every truck-stop waitress wants to be flirted with. I knew those people would be uncomfortable around Stevie, so I closely watched him for the first few weeks. I shouldn’t have worried. After the first week, Stevie had my staff wrapped around his little finger. Within a month my trucker regulars had adopted him as their official truck-stop mascot. After that I really didn’t care what the rest of the customers thought. He was a 21-year-old in blue jeans and Nikes, eager to laugh and eager

M.Lesage:下周六
