The West Lake
You may have heard of the saying “In the sky, the best is heaven, on the earth; the best are Suzhou and Hangzhou.” Why has Hangzhou been described as heaven on the earth? Mostly, it is because there is the West Lake in Hangzhou. I bet you will fall in love with the West Lake at the first sight if you pay a visit to it.
In ancient, Hangzhou is a city of “fish and rice”. Thousands of years have passed; Hangzhou is still as attractive as ever. Hangzhou is so beautiful that many people are reluctant to leave it, for example, Bai Juyi，a famous poet of Tang Dynasty, wrote many poems to describe the beauty of Hangzhou’s West Lake.
The West lake lies in the west of Hangzhou with mountains surrounding on it’s three sides. The Su Causeway and Bai causeway separate the Lake into several small parts. The West Lake has lots of beautiful sceneries spots, historical sites and moving legends.The ten famous sceneries of West Lake are well known in China：

In spring, the West Lake is green and red everywhere. Red, white and yellow flowers dot here and there. Tourists may have the feeling of being in a fairy yard. Lotus bloom in summer. It brings joy to one’s soul and refreshes the mind. Autumn is the most beautiful time of San Tan Yin Yue, especially in the Mid autumn night. The West Lake is exceeding beautiful when it is covered with snow. One of the ten famous sceneries of West Lake is “The Broken Bridge under Snow”. If you come to Hangzhou in snow season, you will absolutely not able to tear yourself away from it.
The West Lake is the most beautiful place I have ever visited. We enjoyed being so close to the nature and relaxed ourselves. It was a wonderful experience for me and it will remain in my memory forever. Indeed, Xihu’s beauty is far beyond my words. My knowledge and the ability of English writing are limited. As CC TV 9 says, “come to Xihu and discovery the mystery of China”.
