Section I Use of English

2. A.本题考查动词短语,happen to(碰巧),fear to(唯恐,),be threatened to被恐吓,。

5. C.本题考查动词短语,turns out证明是,insist on坚持,sum up总结,put forward提出。

10.D.cast a glance backward“回顾”,固定搭配。

12.B.本题考查介词,on the mind of“为,着想”,by the mind“通过思考”,outside和across不与mind的搭配。

by chance偶然,in contrast相反,as usual照常。

所填动词表明实验的目的,并且所填动词的宾语是limits of our patience, our faithfulness, our memory for terrain ,选项中“determine确定”符合题意,并与下文的decide相呼应。

17.B.本题考查介词,四个选项中for 表示表示目的,这个句子的正常句序是intelligence in humans is really for what.

18.A. 四个选项中,Above all 最重要,After all毕竟,However然而,Otherwise否则,故选Above all。

四个选项中,By accident “偶然”,In time“及时”,So far“到目前为止”,Better still“更好的是”,只有So far符合语意。

We reach for them mindlessly, setting our brains on auto-pilot and relaxing into the unconscious comfort of familiar routine.

Text 3

Text 4

些段中的第二句提到,we may consider the original Puritans as carriers of European culture,,,选项中的New Englanders对应文中的Puritans, brought with them the culture of the Old World对应该文章中的carriers of European culture,故此选项为此句中的同义

There men wrote and publish ed extensively, reaching both New World and Old World audiences, and giving New England an atmosphere of intellectual earnestness. A选项中in the new world缩小了原文所表述的范围,B选项在文章中没有提到,C选项不够全面。

39.【A】例证题。

Part B

回到文章,我们在第3段找到了the uniqueness of all cultures, 我们可以断定,这个选项中的he指的就是Franz Boas。

二段的时候,文章说,在他的作品里,他尽量说明了how aspects of culture changed together in the evolution of societies.

Part C

结构分析:句子主干是:it may be said that,, but this effect, its effect及its original motive.

结构分析:强调句的正常语序是:the by-product of the institution was noted Only gradually, and this effect ,was only still more gradually (noted). considered as a directive factor in the conduct of the institution作this effect的后置定语。

in our contact with 作为一个插入成分,分

隔了ignore和它的宾语the effect of,。

Since,we cannot help considering,其中whether or no we are forming the powers which will secure this ability作cannot help considering的宾语,which will secure this ability作为嵌套定语从句修饰the powers。

结构分析:within the broad educational process which we have been so far considering 作为插入语,which we have been so far considering为定语从句修饰process,本句主干是:We are thus led to distinguish a more formal kind of education. that of direct tuition or schooling与a more formal kind of education 是同位语关系。

我在强化班讲匹配比较型的范文时,讲的《网络是福还是祸》(“Is the Internet a Blessing or a Curse”),

Now, it is generally accepted that the Internet is very important. But when it comes to this hot

topic, there has sprung up a heated discussion as to whether the Internet is blessing or the Internet is a curse.”。

距离(increase the distance between,or decrease the distance between,)即可。

Different people have (hold)

different opinions about (on) this issue. Some people think that,Others might resolutely argue that the opposite is true. (24 words)

The relationship between formal education and economic growth in poor countries is widely misunderstood by economists and politicians alike. Progress in both area is undoubtedly necessary for the social, political and intellectual development of these and all other societies; however, the conventional view that education should be one of the very highest priorities for promoting rapid economic development in poor countries is wrong. We are fortunate that it is, because building new educational systems there and putting enough people through them to improve economic performance would require two or three generations. 31. The author holds that the importance of education in poor countries______. [A] is subject to groundless doubts [B] has fallen victim of bias [C] is conventional downgraded [D] has been overestimated 解析:首先依据题干关键词the importance of education in poor countries定位到第一句The relationship between formal education and economic growth in poor countries is widely misunderstood,但是仔细研读后发现贫穷国家中正规教育与经济发展之间的关系为经济学家及政治家们普遍误解。 继续定位到第三句however, the conventional view that education should be one of the very highest priorities for promoting rapid economic development in poor countries is wrong.

Section II Use of English Directions: Read the following text. Choose the best word (s) for each numbered blank and mark [A], [B], [C] or [D] on ANSWER SHEET 1. (10 points) Many theories concerning the causes of juvenile delinquency (crimes committed by young people) focus either on the individual or on society as the major contributing influence. Theories 21on the individual suggest that children engage in criminal behavior 22they were not sufficiently penalized for previous misdeeds or that they have learned criminal behavior through 23with others. Theories focusing on the role of society suggest that children commit crimes in 24to their failure to rise above their socioeconomic status, 25as a rejection of middle-class values. Most theories of juvenile delinquency have focused on children from disadvantaged families, 26 the fact that children from wealthy homes also commit crimes. The latter may commit crimes 27 lack of adequate parental control. All theories, however, are tentative and are 28to criticism. Changes in the social structure may indirectly 29juvenile crime rates. For example, changes in the economy that 30to fewer job opportunities for youth and rising unemployment 31make gainful employment increasingly difficult to obtain. The resulting discontent may in 32lead more youths into criminal behavior. Families have also 33changes these years. More families consist of one-parent households or two working parents; 34, children are likely to have less supervision at home 35was common in the traditional family 36. This lack of parental supervision is thought to be an influence on juvenile crime rates. Other 37causes of offensive acts include frustration or failure in school, the increased 38of drugs and alcohol, and the growing 39of child abuse and child neglect. All these conditions tend to increase the probability of a child committing a criminal act, 40 a direct causal relationship has not yet been established. 21.[A] acting[B] relying[C] centering[D] commenting 22.[A] before[B] unless[C] until[D] because 23.[A] interaction[B] assimilation[C] cooperation[D] consultation 24.[A] return[B] reply[C] reference[D] response 25.[A] or[B] but rather[C] but[D] or else 26.[A] considering[B] ignoring[C] highlighting[D] discarding
