THE LAST LEAF

O.Herry is one of my favorite writers and in his short stories THE LAST LEAF has a deep impression on me . The story eulogizes the sinsere emotion which presents with all respects for friendship . A young painter called Johnsy lost the confidence to facing the life , because she was attacked by the Pneumonia. She regarded the vine as the symbol of her life . If the last leaf left from the vine, she would die away,too . In order to assist Johnsy to get back the courage to live better , her friend Sue asked a painter calling himself Old Behrman who lived on the ground floor for help . So on a night when the rain was beating and the wind was fiercy , Old Behrman painted the last leaf on the wall which would never fall down . The last leaf brought Johnsy's vigour and courage . Ultimately , she was out of danger . However, Old Behrman passed away due to the Pneumonia .

I was touched deeply by the story which promoted me to read it again and again . Every time I readed it , the tear was filled with eyes . Friendship can beyond eveything . Moreover , the love between friends let you defeat any fears,living with smile forever . The true friendship can make people abandon lives to save friends . I'm always looking forward to this kind of friendship and I believe that I can recieve it someday .
