Teaching Objectives

In this unit, students are going to watch and listen to some news reports, news stories and interviews. Through doing a series of tasks, they will

grasp the main ideas of the passages about genders;

identify the detailed information from the passages / video clips;

get to know some differences between men and women.

Part 1 Lead-in

Difference between men and women

Task1. Fill in the blanks with “a man” or “a woman”, “women” or “men”.

Task 2 Answer some questions.

Part 2 Watching & Listening

Section A

Directions: In this section, you are going to listen to the pa ssage “Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus”. Read the following words and phrase aloud first and then finish the tasks below.
