1.Do you believe in love at first sight? What’s your definition of “true love”? To be honest, I don’t believe love at first sight. It’s more like that two people are appealed to each other’s pretty face. But there is no true love if love is not based on solid trust, respect and understanding between two people. Love develops overtime, and I do believe that you don’t just see that person and know that he/she is the right person. Maybe you can like someone at first sight, but in the tide of time, you’ll find out whether or not you truly love him/her.

Crushes are fleeting feelings of attraction for someone. You see someone that you like and would like to be with them but these feelings never last for very long.

In the book pride and prejudice, Lizzie finds Mr. Darcy a snobbish and proud man, and she swears to loathe him forever. But in the end she marries him. So the first sight is sometimes inaccurate.

For me true love is when you can say, and honestly mean, that you would do anything for someone without question except a few things. When you know you would give your life for theirs without thought. When you would sacrifice your happiness, your wants, your needs, your life too give them just one good day. All without asking for anything. To me that is true love, even if it is not returned. I don’t believe true love has a limit, but if it does it would be your breaking point.

2.What are the essential qualities to success?

Ambition. No doubt ambition is of vital importance to the success of each individual. Only when we have our own ambition can we find the origin of energy and enthusiasm in life, and become active and perseverant.

Commitment and perseverance. People who are committed to their work have equipped themselves with an essential tool that will see them through challenges. They will persistently forge on until they see the resolution to their problems. They may have to change direction to reach the target, but they will never quit. Cooperation of Family. Whenever you embark on a new path it is extremely important that you acquire the support and cooperation of your loved ones. If you doubt this you either live alone, or you have never tried to do something BIG.

Time Management Skills. Time is something that only happens once. You can't go back, only forward. Make that time count. The most significant portion of your commitment to your Internet business is in the time that you devote to it.

A keen intelligence. Like any other latent power, it can be developed. Just like we gain muscle strength by exercising, we can gain mental strength by putting the mind to work. The mind should be exercised in original thinking.

The spirit of teamwork. In modern society, teamwork becomes a basic requirement for our survival in society. Nowadays, you can hard complete a task without others' help. Teamwork makes our work more efficient and benefits us a lot. We can overcome our shortcomings by learning from others' strong points.

3.What’s your opinion on low-carbon life?

Low-carbon refers to a minimal output of greenhouse gas emissions into the

biosphere, specifically refers to carbon dioxide. Because of the development of the world industrial economy and the fast increase of population, the human living environment, health and safety are becoming worse. Therefore, low-carbon life is needed by man's own health, harmony between human beings and nature and the development of mankind.

Then, how can we live a low-carbon life?

Firstly, we should recognize that low-carbon life is not only a kind of lifestyle but also life attitude. Each of us is responsible for the greenhouse gases we emit in our daily actions. Secondly, we should develop good habits in our daily lives. We can select products with longer shift life when we shop. This can reduce waste and ultimately reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Paper cups are made from cutting forests. We should try not to use them, or select the smaller ones when we do because trees can absorb carbon dioxide and reduce greenhouse gas. The lights should be turned off when not needed. This will greatly reduced electricity consumption. We print things out only when necessary, and print double-sided and reduce the margins. All motorized travel is carbon-intensive. Buses and trains are better than cars, but walking or cycling is better still. It's also better for our health and cheaper. There are so many low-carbon life actions that it is impossible to list all of them. Low-carbon life can be summarized as moderate food, house, transportation, more sports and not wasting. In terms of traditional Chinese culture, the concept of low-carbon life can also be simplified as industry and thrift.

If possible, I avoid taking the elevator, commute to work by bus or bicycle, use both sides of every piece of paper, and save electricity. Many of my colleagues are interested in a low-carbon lifestyle now.

4.What kind of extracurricular activities do you like?

When I saw the topic, the first thing occurred to my mind is bowling which is my favorite extracurricular activity. I strongly recommend you to give a shot at this fabulous ball game. Bowling is not so popular and prevalent in china although it is suitable for people on a wide range of age and most people have no notion of how to play it and what the specific rules are. So did I. I didn’t come into contact with bowling until the second semester of my freshman year in Minhang campus. At that time, I attended a student association in which all the members learned to play bowling and participated in all kinds of competitive games such as the individual competition, the team race and the novelty game. We gave each other a high-five after making a strike. I made a lot of friends occupied in different majors and I often came back to Minhang campus to play bowling with them. Actually, bowling is a great way to relax yourself. When you are bothered by trivial things or upset by certain obstacles, you can make a date with your friends to go bowling or just play it alone to give a vent to your repressed emotions. And it is a perfect activity for girl which is played in a relatively e legant way and doesn’t have a high demand for energy.

I am already looking forward to playing bowling when the ensuing exams are over.

5.What’s your opinion on college students’ taking part-time jobs? Nowadays, there is a growing number of students who are taking part-time jobs. Whether the students should take part-time jobs? It’s a question which has been

much controversy all the time.

People who are against it hold the point that the main purpose of higher education is for the students to acquire knowledge.

However, if they are engaged in part-time job, they will be distracted from the colourful lives in the society. As a result, they will neglect their studies.

And add to the worries of their parents.

I don’t agree:

1. provide a lot of experience. From their work, their working skills will be developed.

2. learn how to get along with people and know the society better.

3. make money ,which helps to unload their families’ financial burden.

4. Cultivate students’ sense of independence which is necessary to their development.

6.Green food is now becoming more and more popular. Do you know why? And

can you say something about the changes in people’s diet nowadays?

Green food does not refer to the food with green color, but to the safe, high-quality and nutritious and non-polluted food which is produced with special production manner, authorized by special organ to use the label of green food.

Green food has gained good comment from consumers with its distinctive image of non-pollution and non-hazard. Its market coverage is gaining with each passing day with increasing market share.

Health is everything.

Commercials promoting the concept of green food

Change:

There is a general trend of decrease in the consumption of grain, but an increase in the consumption of some high protein, high energy food, such as milk and meet. Reason:

1. after the carrying out of the reform and open to the outside world policy, people have become rich, which enables them to afford food with more nutrition.

2. people have more knowledge in improving the structure of their diet. They not only pay attention to the quantity but also the quality of what they eat.

3. busy/little time/fast food/too much calories

The best way to make sure that we will feel and look fine is to develop healthy eating habits. We ought to learn more about our body and the fuel it needs to keep fit.Only in that way will we be ready for the challenges and opportunities in life.

7.Finding a job, further study or going abroad, which will you choose and how

do you prepare to achieve the goal?

Finding a job, further study or going abroad, as different individuals hold different views about life, about living, the decisions come different for everybody. On my part,

if admitted, I will go abroad for further study first, and then I will find a job. Studying abroad can practice the ability of independence and solving problems alone on youngsters. Furthermore, we can experience cultural differences which broaden our horizons. Besides, we will be accessible to the advanced teaching methods and better educational systems abroad.

However, generally speaking, studying abroad spends much more money than studying internally. So the economic burdens are much heavier. To lighten the burden on my family, I will try my best to get a state scholarship. First of all, I should study the specialized knowledge hard to be qualified to get the opportunity. In addition, to master a foreign language is of great importance. Only if I stick on practicing for long enough can I get improved. Besides, quite a lot of customs in the west are 180 degree different from those in China. I should learn to understand the customs of the country to get along well with the native residents.

By the way, if I am not admitted to go abroad, I would rather find a job than future study. In my opinion, as a future dentist, operational skills outweigh high diplomas. If the high diploma can't be translated to high-level working ability and experience, it will be of no use.

That’s all.

8.It seems usual for Shanghai residents to show up with pajamas in public

places. What’s your opinion?

Actually, I cannot accept this phenomenon that shows up with pajamas in public place anywhere not just Shanghai. Certainly, it also can’t be accepted by the general public. Therefore, we should never regard it as a city style but a bad habit. And I hate that someone is going out with pajamas, particular for someone show up with a pair of flip-flops on public place. That's very in bad taste and infects our life too. Even I am a fashion girl but I never do that and my parents never promise me to do that too. On anywhere except at home that I suggest we ought to keep up good impression to everybody. Shows up with pajamas outside not stand for how fashion you are but reveal how lazy and random you are.

If residents don't care their impression on public place, it will take from our cultural quality, civilization to others and will show up in bad taste to all. Emphasizing good manners and civility is not only country's duty but also citizen's responsibility. Not Shanghai should prohibit this phenomenon but everywhere.

However, up to now, there is no rule to prohibit people from showing up in public with pajama, it is not individual behavior but social behavior, wearing pajama on the street means you from private space to public which will influence others or the city. Therefore, it is bad action to wear pajamas in public.

If you can't be there at the given moment, say something like, "I wish I could be with you. May I call you tomorrow? " Be sure your friend knows she's cared about. Nowadays many college students like to highlight their personalities, to be their own. They have taken special ways to show their personalities. For example, some college students who are tattooed think tattooing is cool and shows great personality. But teachers and parents do not think tattooing is right for students. They believe to be a student you should dress like a student--no tattoos, of cause. Some people even believe that those who are tattooed are not good students. As far as I am concerned, although many people can not accept students’tattooing, nothing is wrong with tattooing. College students are grown-ups. They can tell right from wrong. If they want to be tattooed, just remember to tell them to select clean places, preferably with parental consents. 3.What do cultural difference mean ? Can you give some examples? In China, people prefer vegetables and fruits, for the Chinese believe that such things are rich in vc, which are good to health. However, western people are more likely to eat meat. Known as having a good tradition of hospitality , Chinese people always greet their guests with warm hand. Chinese meal table normally is filled with delicious food, yet the host is used to saying " I am sorry. I don’t think the food is good enough today" and other courtesies. Host or hostess sometimes use their chopsticks to take food to the guest’s bowl, which is considered as a way to show hospitality in China. Topics for Oral test 1. Which great leader do you admire most? What qualities did/does he/she have? bill gates 2. Which do you cherish more, your friendship with a good friend or your romantic relationship? obviously, friend is easy to make, but lover is kind of hard to seek for. Since relationship between friends might be not that close compared to romantic relationship, I will probably take it serious and cherish this sweet relationship. Also, I believe that my friends will support me and our relationship won’t be tense and freezing because of this. As the Chinese saying goes, once you got a boyfriend or a girlfriend, you may leave your friends out of your mind. I partly agree this, and when I fall in love, especially at the very beginning, I think I will cherish it more than friendship. 3. What factors would you consider first if you were to find a job (even a part-time job)? I will first consider whether this company and the offered position is high potential. I think high potential is a quality that is vital for the company’s future development and its personnel’s self improvement. Every one need a room to promote and realize one’s self-value. Another factor I concern is—its location. I’d like to work and live in big cities because big cities offer so many opportunities and a higher salary while small cities can’t. 4. Whom do you usually turn to when in trouble, vour parents or your friends? They know me better than anyone else and their vision is wide, their thoughts are mature.
