MARRIAGE

1.What is the legal age for marrying in China?

In China, the legal marrying age is 20 years old for men and 22 years old for women. Couples can get married easier if they are both single and not

previously married.

2.Why is there a difference between the marrying age of men and women

in China?

I think that the reason for a 2-year difference between the marrying age

of men and women is because men physically mature a little faster than

women. I don’t think it matters too much because in ideal relationships,

people are able to wait for the time

3.Describe a wedding that you have participated in.

I remember when my best friend got married. The wedding was held in

the countryside where there were a lot of trees and colourful plants.

There were a lot of people who attended. Everyone was dressed formally

and was very happy to be able to come to the wedding.

4.Are you married? If yes, for how long?

Yes, I am married. I have been happily married since the age of 25. I met my wife when we were still in college. She was a sophomore and I was a

senior.

5.If you were getting married, how would you prepare for it?

I may have to hire wedding planner to do most of the things needed for

the marriage. Of course I will also make sure that I have enough money

for my wedding.

past. Why is it so?

Sample Answer:

The reason why wedding nowadays are bigger and more expensive is because of the value that people attach to weddings. They think that having a big and expensive wedding makes them very popular. And also, spending lots of money for a wedding is like giving proof that a person is willing to spend any amount just to be with a person.

I think there are both positive and negative results of having a big wedding. The major positive result is that the event becomes very memorable and not easily forgotten by those people who attended it. A negative result would be when a couple overdraws their money for the payment of their wedding and are not able to afford anything else afterwards. I believe that for a marriage to be ideal the couple should have mutual feelings of love with each other and they should already be at an age where they can afford to raise a family in relative comfort.
