英语药品说明书由以下12项内容组成，大多数英语药品说明书结
构基本相同。

药品名称
一、英语药品说明书一般用商品名，由生产厂家向该国政府有关部
门申请注册正式名称，受该国政府法律保护，在药品名称的右上角
有个○r的符号，意思是已经申请注册的法定名称，不可随意改变名称。○r=recive
在药品之后有时issued to(for) the medical profession only短语，意：仅供医界参考。
r例：mobic ○ issued to(for) the medical prfession.
二、译法：分四种译法
1. 音译：按英语读音用相应的汉字译出
例： mobic莫比可 rifampicin利福平
2. 意译：按药品名称各组成部份的英语意义译成汉语
例： streptomycine是由strepto和mycine组成，其中
strepto(链球状)，mycine(霉素)，则按英语意思，译成：链霉素。
因此必须掌握大量前、后缀，才以准确翻译，此种译法多数是抗生
素类药物。
nitroglycerine 由nitro(硝基)+glycerin(甘油)组成，则意为硝酸甘
油 aminophylline由amino+phylline译:氨茶碱
3. 音意并译：按英语药名组成，前面部份按音译，后面部份按意译。例：kanamycine由kama(卡那)+mycine(霉素)组成，按前音后的
方法，译为卡那霉素。
gentamycine由genta+mycine 译为庆大霉素。
4. 谐意译法：按英语发音，用相应的汉语的音译出，尽可能用汉字
表达出药品的作用。

说明书的翻译技巧与翻译原则 说明书(又称使用手册是“介绍物品性能、规格、使用方法的实用应用性文 体”。按其用途可分为家用电器说明书、药品说明书、化妆品说明书、食品类说明 书、机械装备说明书、仪器器械说明书、书籍说明书等。随着我国经济蓬勃发展以 及对外开放步伐日益加快,国内各品牌产品纷纷抢滩国际市场。这一过程中,说明书的翻译扮演了至关重要角色。遗憾的是,广大翻译研究者对说明书的英译似乎认识 不足,说明书的翻译也存在着诸多问题,译文不够精准,译语不够地道等问题时有发生。有鉴于此,通过汉语说明书英译准则研究,希望对说明书翻译实践有所裨益。 一、说明书的文体特征与翻译目标 从遣词造句方面来看,说明书频繁使用祈使句、无人称句,十分讲究逻辑性。从语气上看,说明书的语气通常较为正式,用语严谨规范、客观公允。从修辞角度来说,说明书文风一般比较质朴,避免铺叙婉曲,特别是很少使用不必要的修辞格。不过说 明书与纯粹的科技类文章还是有一定区别的。例如,说明书“较少使用复合性扩展句, 刘宓庆,1998:443,句子结构也简单得多。更为重要的是,为而代之以宽展的简单句”（ 了达到吸引消费者的目的,某些说明书(如化妆品说明书有时大量使用华丽语言,富于修辞手段和艺术特色。 由于说明书在产品营销过程中主要起到吸引消费者,激发消费者产生购买欲,指导消费者顺利实现消费行为之功用,因此,译者在翻译说明书时主要不是原封不动地 移植原文信息,而是实现纽马克(2002所说的祈使功能(vocative function,即通过译文的激励,使读者(潜在消费者采取消费行动,进而促使厂商获得所追求的利润。鉴于说 明书的语言特点和翻译目标,我们以为好的说明书译文不仅要准确、客观,还必须保证能为译语读者所接受并激发他们的购买行为。这就意味着译者在翻译说明书时至 少要坚持“忠实、准确”与“可读性” 这两项基本原则。 二、“忠实、准确”原则

谈化妆品说明书的翻译 【摘要】随着国内外商品的进出口日益增多，化妆品也不例外。消费者选购某种化妆品首先要看它的说明书。化妆品说明书的翻译属于实用文体翻译，有它自己的特点，因此，翻译时应根据消费者的不同，在内容及形式上适当调整。 【关键词】化妆品；翻译；实用文体；消费者 0 引言 一次同事要笔者帮忙翻译一款化妆品的中文说明书，我感到有些为难，因为它属于一种实用文体翻译，肯定和我们一般的写作文体不同，为了翻译这份材料，因此我就搜集了一些中外著名的化妆品来研究上边英文和中文的说明。发现中英文说明中有许多不能一一对应的地方。联想到因为国际贸易的发展许多国际品牌化妆品大量进入我国，同时我国一些著名品牌也开始出口国外，因此想写一篇文章谈一谈中文化妆品的翻译问题，促进我国化妆品的出口。我国的翻译现下问题多多，因此最重要的问题之一就是要有正确的翻译理论来指导。对于实用文体翻译，我认为德国学者赖斯的功能翻译理论是比较合适的理论。 1 功能翻译理论 德国学者赖斯是功能翻译理论的创始人。她在1971年出版的《翻译批评——潜力与制约》一书中提出了将文本功能确定为翻译批评的一个标准。她根据主要的交际功能不同把文本分为“传意功能文本：主要功能是告知读者文本的内容，表情性文本强调文本的形式，诉求性文本强调它的召唤功能”（Reiss，2004：25）。如果译文仍需为诉求性，译者应以读者的同等反应这一总体目标为指导原则，虽然这可能要改变原作的内容和（或）文体特征。赖斯的学生沃米尔突破了对等理论的原则，他以文本目的（skopos）为翻译过程的第一准则。 20世纪90年代德国翻译家诺德对所有的功能翻译理论进行总结。关于翻译的标准，诺德认为：“将预定的译文交际功能作为翻译的制定原则似乎更加合理一些”（Nord，2005：50）。这就是德国功能翻译理论的基本观点之一。 化妆品说明的英文翻译是以国外普通消费者为对象，推销我国化妆品的一种文本。赖斯认为，在译文中要从译文读者角度出发，对译文的内容和形式进行适当的调整，要注意译文的可接受性。那怎样才是合适的翻译呢？在讨论翻译标准时李运兴认为：“从严格的科学意义上说，译文和原文之间的‘等’是不存在的”（李运兴，2001：35）。成功的化妆品说明的翻译绝不是依样画葫芦，一字不动地译成另一国语言，我们的译文应该在许多方面进行适当变通，让外国读者觉得译文清晰易懂，喜闻乐见。要达到推销的目的，译文应当根据译语读者的阅读习惯在内容和形式上加以改变。下面从众多例子中摘取两例来看一看一些著名品牌的化妆品说明的中英文对照写法。
