I feel so honored to have this privilege to give you a speech which entitled
“ A Chinese Dream”. Over two thousand years ago, Confucius, the greatest
educator and philosopher in ancient China, first came up with the idea
of “ building a world of , Datong’”. What is “ Datong” ? In modern people ?s eyes, it means “ Great Unity ” . It refers to a world in which everyone,
rich or poor, noble or humble, plays his part appropriately and everything
is righteously placed and distributed. It seems that only those
illustrious figures like state leaders or great scholars and scientists
have the obligation to shoulder this dream of establishing “great unity. ”
It seems that such an ordinary sophomore in college like me has nothing
to do with the realization of this lofty dream. If you should think so,
ladies and gentlemen, I am afraid you are wrong, for tonight, I am here
to say that as a Chinese, I strongly feel the call of duty from my soul.
I am studying here in college to carry on this dream, and I am confident
enough to say that I can make my contribution to shape the face of future

hard ” or “protecting the environment ”. Well, I feel exactly the same.
