A perfect vacation that I have been on was my trip to Phuket. Phuket is a beautiful island in Thailand. It’s a popular travel destination for Chinese people. I think it’s a perfect vacation getaway. In phuket I stayed in a really nice hotel with a romantic ambience. Everyday I woke up looking at the beautiful ocean and during the day I did some water activities such as scuba diving and boating, I also took some nice strolls by the sea and sun batched on the beach while I enjoyed a nice cocktail not to mention the fresh seafood I ate almost every meal. I went there with my family. I had a great time with my parents and grandparents even though, I really wished that I could go to a romantic place like this with someone I am in love with. it was really nice because it was a clear contrast to my city life. You know the air pollution, life pressure and crowded environments that I am used to. I think this vacation was

rejuvenating and gave me chance to take my breath and just enjoy life.

An important traditional event

An important traditional event in my country is the dragon boat festival, called “Duan Wu Jie” in Chinese. This event is held on May 5th of the Chinese lunar calendar. The dragon boat festival is not a family holiday like the spring festival or the mid-autumn festival, it’s more of a holiday for fun and festivities. This holiday is to commemorate a famous patriot poet named “Qu Yuan”who lived during the spring autumn period of China. It was a famous historical event in which Qu Yuan jumps into the yellow river to commit suicide rather than see his country fall. To remember him, people eat a traditional Chinese snack called “Zong Zi”(扩展)and we hold dragon boat racing on the river. This event is important because it’s a reminds people about Qu Yuan, the man who loved his country so much that he gave up his life for his country and it’s also a national holiday so we can get an extra day off on this day.

A project that I did with others was a charity program for kids in poverty.

I was a part of a volunteer group back in 2010. We were in charge of coordinating with schools and universities to get people to donate their used books for the kids who could not afford books. I was with many other volunteers, like about 30 people. It was quite a challenge because most of us were students, so it was the first time we did something like this and we don’t have an prior experience. I had lots of fun and I really enjoyed the feeling of working in a team. You know, at the same time it gave me a sense of belonging and when we got the job done, I felt a sense of achievement. I’m very thankful I was part of this group because there were so many tasks to do, and it would be impossible to do all the tasks without the team. When we got the books into the hands of the children, when we saw the happiness in their eyes, I think we all felt we were making a difference.

A plan I have for the future is to do some volunteer work. For example doing some work at an orphanage or at a senior center. I think it will be something new for me and through doing volunteer work I will get a sense of self-worth. Initially, I think I will need to get in touch with some non-profit organizations to introduce me to a place where I can do community service. Then I will be able to go to institutions to begin my service. To make my plan work, I think I will first have to change myself.

I will have to cultivate the qualities and skills that are necessary for being a volunteer. Patience, diligence, understanding are just some of the qualities I can pull of the top of my head. So I think by doing service like this, I will become a better individual, what’s more, I think an experience like this will be rewarding and I will have a personal transformation in one way or another.

On this trip we ate together, we went sight-seeing together and we even played games together. This game is wonderful because it allows boys and girls a chance to play together. A type of clothing that I wear on special occasions is known as Tang Zhuang. Tang Zhuang is a traditional type of Chinese clothing that we wear during the spring festival. You know my family is kind of traditional, so in my family, we have kept the traditional of wearing Tang Zhuang during the spring festival. Everyone in my family will wear it to get into the holiday spirit. The Tang Zhuang I have is top quality, make of silk, most Tang Zhuang is made of plain cloth. The one I have has peony patterns on it to represent prosperity and good fortune. I really enjoy wearing it because I think it’s really sentimental and it’s always nice to wear something special. It looks really nice and it’s really comfortable to wear. What’s more, I feel that customs should not be forgotten because it reflects our own unique culture.

An animal that I know is a turtle. There are many kinds of turtles from all over the world and it comes in all sizes. All turtles have a hard shell on their back and they come in different colors. I spent a lot of work to make a nice little habitat for my turtle. I really like turtles because I think they are peaceful creatures. They don’t make sounds an they don’t have a bad odor. What’s more turtles are easy to take care of and I don’t have to take it for a walk or get it’s hair trimmed. I only have to feed it dried shrimp pieces and fish pieces and change it’s water occasionally. 雅思口语考试中有一类常见题型，即要求考生对于某个时间进行描述。近期常见的考题有Describe an important occasion when you are late等。而分析发现，在以往的雅思口语考题中也有许多与描述事件顺序相关的话题，试略举几例如下： 1. a picnic 2. a meal outdoors 3. a special/strange meal 4. a sport event(describe the process) 5. a party/a party you threw for your family members or friends 6. a public event(except sport events) 7. a traditional event 8. a traditional festival 9. a walk with a friend 10. a traffic jam 11. describe last week 以上话题大多可以从描述事件顺序的角度来回答，而这样一类话题在口语中不在少数;因此，掌握一个行之有效的描述事件顺序的方法是非常必要的。 但考生们在备考过程中，往往容易出现如下问题：1，无法使用相应的场景词汇;2，不会使用合理的连接词;3，无法有条理的展开描述。针对学生出现的以上问题，笔者在教学中采用了利用剑桥听力练口语的方法。 众所周知，剑桥听力的Section 2为个人独白，且时常会出现旅游等场景;而这些场景中的说话者往往会按顺序描述整个行程，这就为考生准备了一个很好的描述事件的范例。因此，在准备口语考试的时候，建议考生可以灵活应用剑桥雅思的听力材料，作为口语练习的辅助。 一、利用剑桥听力积累场景词汇。 剑桥听力本来就以场景为主，因此在背诵听力场景词汇之后，考生可将它们用于口语表达。此方法简便易行且十分有效，所以本文不再赘述。 二、利用剑桥听力合理使用连接词。 考生在准备描述事件题的时候，最大的问题往往是不知如何使用连接词。很多学生，包括基础比较好的学生，往往也都只会使用firstly，secondly这样生硬的连接词来描述事件的发展经过。事实上，只要对剑桥真题的听力原文稍加研究，就能从中归纳出有用模板，并应用在口语当中。 最好的实例当然是剑7 Test 3的Section 2。这是一个旅游场景，说话者对某个景点进行了描述。研究相对应的听力原文并进行归纳，很容易得到如下的几个句型： 1. …start by …，on Day One. 2. After a couple of days to …，you’ll …on Day Three …which will the whole of the day. 3. Day Four takes us …。 4. Then …，that’s Day Five， 5. …before going to …and that’s Day Six. 6. We stay …for Day Seven because then comes the …day，…。 7. Day Nine is …，with part of the day spent in …。 8. Then back down to …and the journey home. 以上都是口语中能用得上的连接词。这些词与考生常用的连接词相比，显得自然、地道很多。而且，由于它们来自雅思真题，其合理性和可靠性也是毋庸置疑的。最重要的是，只要考生在省略号处根据想表达的意思填入合适的词和句型，就可以说出较为地道合理的句子。只要

雅思口语Part 2范文 人物类： Describe a good parent you know. You should say: ?Who the parent is ?How you know the parent ?What the parent looks like ?And explain why you think the parent is good. Ok right then, well the parent I'd like to talk about is the mother of a good friend of mine, and the reason for choosing to talk about her is that my friend is always going on about how lucky he is to have such a nice mum. And from what I know about her, I'd say he's absolutely right! Anyway, as for how I know her, well it's basically due to the fact that I went to the same middle school as her son. And because we became pretty good friends, we ended up seeing quite a lot of each other's parents, especially during the holidays when we often went over to each other's homes. And regarding what his mother looks like, well interestingly enough, she actually looks pretty similar to my own mother, because they both have quite round faces and long wavy hair. Having said that though, I've noticed that my friend's mother often ties her hair up in a bun, whereas my mother usually always keeps it down. And another thing to mention would be that whenever I see her, she always seems to be wearing red clothes of some sort, which I guess is probably because red suits her quite well. But anyway, finally then, with regard to why I think she's a good parent, well I'd say there are quite a few reasons, one of which would be that she's always been fully supportive to her son. And just to give you an example, when he was deciding what major to study at university, he ended up choosing music. And his mother gave him her full support, which is probably not what many other parents would have done, as music doesn't really leave open a lot of career choices, if you know what I mean! And I think it's fair to say that nowadays, a lot of parents persuade their children to do things which they think are best for them, but my friend has said that his parents have never been like this with him, especially his mother. So I kind of get the impression that she's never forced him to do anything against his will, and has always let him make his own decisions, which I think is really great.
