Getting rid of dirt*, in the opinion of most people, is a good

thing. However, there is nothing fixed about attitudes to

dirt.

In the early 16th century, people thought that dirt on the skin was a means to block out disease, as medical opinion had it that washing off dirt with hot water could open up the skin and let ills in. Yet, it seems that standards of cleanliness have moved beyond science since World War II. Advertise ments repeatedly sell the idea: clothes need to be whiter than white, cloths ever softer, surfaces to shine. Has the hate for dirt, however, gone too far?

泰顺简介 1 自然状况 泰顺县自然状况 1、地质地貌 泰顺是浙江南部的山区县，隶属浙江省地级市温州市，总面积1700平方公里，素有“九山半水半分田”之称。地势从西北向东南倾斜，位于华夏构造体系断裂和复式褶的向斜部，中生代火山岩系厚度大，出露面积约占全县总面积的五分之三。在零星山间小盆地、大溪流的两侧及交叉口地带，主要是近代坡积、冲积、河积和河漫滩或小沼泽的积水洼地堆积。境内矿藏种类多，分布广，以非金属矿为优。泰顺地处洞宫山脉东南翼，山峦连绵，涧谷深切，属低中山区高丘山地地貌。 2、气候条件 泰顺属中亚热带海洋型季风气候区，季风交替，四季分明，雨水充沛，春夏水热同步，秋冬光热互补，高山云雾弥漫，低山丘陵湿润，但常有旱、风、涝、寒等自然灾害。 泰顺地区气候温和，春季平均气温18.6℃，夏季平均气温25.1℃，秋季平均气温16.7℃，冬季平均气温7.7℃，年平均气温16.1℃，大于10.0℃的年活动积温4999.1℃，无霜期242天。 泰顺多山近海，雷雨频繁，泰顺降水丰富，年平均降水量2008.8毫米，为全省多雨中心之一，但时空分布极不均匀。雨量基本集中在春、夏季的春雨、梅雨及台风雨，约占全年的70～75%，其中，6至8月雨量偏多较为明显。从降水低地域来看，泰顺东南部、西北部是境内多雨量中心。高山云雾弥漫，低山丘陵湿润，气候适合于南北动植物生长，开展种植业和养殖业具有很大的潜力。日照少、云雾多也有利于茶叶、药材等经济作物的栽培。 3、水文条件 泰顺是典型的山水城市，境内大小溪流百余条，纵横密布，汊坑密布，分属飞云江、交溪、沙埕港、鳌江四大水系，流域面积为1761.5平方公里。水域面积86.6平方公里，占土地总面积的4.9%。因受地质构造运动影响，溪谷狭窄，河床峻陡，河道比降大，源短流急，溪水暴涨暴落。县内降水丰沛，溪流纵横，水资源丰富。 在地域上，县境西北部、东南部溪流纵横，降水多，径流量大；东北部、南部降水较少，径流量也较小。 4、生态环境条件 泰顺县境内林木繁茂、水质清澈、旅游环境质量较高。乌岩岭国家级自然保护区森林覆盖率保持在95%以上。全县三大水系的地面水质量符合规定的地面水功能区要求，除个别溪流外，均符合国家《地面水环境质量标准》二级标准。泰顺县1997年被国家环保总局列为全国第二批生态示范区建设试点县，2000年底通过省级验收，2002年3月国家环保总局正式授予“国家生态示范区”称号。
