Giving a helping hand to those who are in need in the local community seems reasonable. It is because even in the richest countries, there are still a lot of people, such as disabled people and orphanages, suffering from famine and extreme poverty. For this reason, it is easy and convenient for us to help our fellow citizens, such as donating food or clothing to them, so that we can see the result of our actions immediately. By contrast, it is rather difficult to track expenditure of international aids, which might result in corruption in some cases.

Those who donate money to domestic and international charities believe that the collection of money has a tremendous effect on the poor countries compared with other forms of help. This is because few people are able to donate a large amount of money to construct schools, hospitals and roads in poor areas. Instead, governments and charities can achieve this. International aids can also purchase vaccines which are available in developed countries by using the money raised worldwide and save millions children’s life.

In my view, minor proportion of donated money and other sorts of help should be appreciated equally as long as the money reaches to those who need it desperately. The government could run campaign and encourage door-to door help. At the same time, charitable organizations should make every penny count for donors.(word count：274)

It is not rare to see that some well-to-do countries like to give financial aid or other forms of assistance to poor ones. Conflicting ideas clash in whether or not economic donation is the best effective means of assistance. Speaking for myself, those developed countries should assume the responsibility of helping those countries, which are still suffering from the agonies of popular disease, poor education and undeveloped trade. However, financial aids have both its merits and demerits，other suitable ways of assistance should be considered.

Indeed, some arguments could be explored to justify that those well-off countries ought to give a financial aid to the poverty-stricken nations’charities. For a start, it is out of the reason of humanism and could benefit the straitened nations directly. More precisely, financial beneficence from the developed countries could help to accelerate the construction of infrastructure and establishing more houses. Also, when some rich countries donate large sums of money to those needy countries, more job opportunities could be created and thus living standards of the poor countries could be enhanced. Nonetheless, we should be alert to the possible risks of economic assistance. For one thing, it might make needy countries become over-dependent on the donors. For another, international aid might bright about possible political interference and economic exploitation. Apart from financial aids, there are still many other options available to assist the undeveloped nations. One way is by opening up trade barriers, which enables the poor countries to sell their goods. Another way is to forgive economic debts so that the self-supporting ability of the poor nations could be promoted. Eventually, the teams of volunteer teachers and doctors from rich countries could be dispatched to the impoverished countries to take the responsibilities of educational and medical assistance.

Travelling abroad has become a new lifestyle nowadays. However, complaints about the potential negative effects of international travel have been sparked among the public in recent years. This essay will outline two main reasons for these complaints and provide certain measures to change the opinion.

First of all, it is a widespread phenomenon that foreign travellers might repel the local community because of their inappropriate languages and behaviour in some resorts. Due to the cultural differences, visitors’behavior may break traditional rules in travel destinations sometimes. For example, a visitor will annoy an Indian when he passes food by his left hand. For this reason, the local government can take actions to provide more specific travelling tips in popular scene spots for foreign travellers.

In addition, more and more transnational travels will cause damage to the unique nature of a culture. Foreign visitors will bring not only tangible matters like food and clothes but also something intangible, such as their festivals or customs. In other words, these visitors are assimilating their country’s culture while they are travelling abroad, which will be bound to cause antipathy in racist society. Germany is a case in point. For this reason, the government can encourage locals to hold a tolerant attitude toward foreign arrivals as they have no common knowledge of local conventions in most times. Travelling is for cultural communication instead of invasion.

Nowadays, whether evaluating and criticising teachers should be supported in the classroom has become a controversial issue. From my perspective, evaluation and criticism of teachers are necessary for the improvement of education if they are objective and reasonable.

On the one hand, proposing changes to teachers’lesson content contributes to the improvement of teaching quality. Usually, it is difficult for teachers to realise the mistakes and slips in their teaching unless students remind them. Additionally, teachers may not clearly know what students have known and want to know when planning their lessons. If students can put forward their ideas and suggestions towards the lesson, it will be of great help for teachers to upgrade the teaching projects. Moreover, trying to evaluate teachers’lesson is particularly beneficial for students’academic and career development in the future. The modern education emphasises criticism and innovation. Undoubtedly, it is an effective way for students to debate or discuss with teachers.

On the other hand, the disruptive students will probably disturb the class and negatively affect both teaching and learning outcomes. When students voice their opinions in the classroom, it will be hard to maintain the order and discipline and the teachers may feel disrespected. Also, students will suffer a loss in terms of knowledge and other learning content. This is because teachers always devote much to delivering knowledge and explaining theories. If they are disrupted, the teaching plan may not be able to be fulfilled. As a result, both teachers and students have to face a loss in the quality of education.

To sum up, it can be recommended that students evaluate and criticise teachers in the classroom on the premise that they have decent manners without disturbing the learning atmosphere. Only in this way will teachers and students achieve a win-win outcome in education.

According to the statistics, during the last 100 years, the earth's surface temperature has risen dramatically because of human activities. Therefore, some people feel that the changes in our lifestyles can reverse this worrying trend. For example, the growing number of vehicles on the road emits a large quantity of green house gases, such as carbon dioxide, which will worsen the air quality. If residents chose other modes of transport, like buses or subways, this serious condition would be alleviated to a large extent. However, in my opinion, this policy would be very unpopular with some people, especially those living in the suburb, who do need to travel on roads.

While it is undeniable that an individual's behaviour has a profound effect on the environment, other people argue that the improvement in technology can tackle some problems in turn. For example, the technology today is available to produce electric cars that would be both quieter and cleaner to use. Persuading manufacturers and travellers to adopt this new technology would be a more effective strategy for improving air quality fundamentally.My own view is that apart from individual effort and environmental friendly technologies, we need to do more, such as introducing related laws and regulations. Environmental problems are so complex that each effort should be combined together to win the battle.

Ironically, we, human beings，are now facing with a series of environment-related issues such as global warming or the depletion of resources. People differ greatly in their views as to how to protect the environment, to resort to the high-tech or to opt for a simpler lifestyle. To voice my opinion, the perfect combination of the two approaches will be the ideal way to resolve environment-related problems.

Indeed, plenty of evidence could be explored to justify that it works to safeguard our surroundings via high-tech. First, efforts should be made to explore and popularize new environmentally friendly energy sources to substitute those highly polluted fossil fuels. For example, the public should be advocated to avoid driving private cars and take public transit, in this sense, it will diminish the waste of natural resources and minimize the use of fossil fuels. Further, people’s environmental protection awareness should be strengthened. Last, people can also be encouraged to visit the beautiful places that are close to home, rather than traveling for long distance on holidays.

Overall, I re-affirm my conviction that both living a simple life and relying on high-tech could play an indispensable part in the process of environmental preservation. Therefore, the combination of both methods is highly recommended.

It is sometimes argued that young lawbreakers should be tried as adults for crimes. I personally believe that this is partly reasonable.

On the one hand, those who participate in violent crimes should not be treated differently than adult offenders. This is because most crimes, such as rape or murder, are thoughtful, deliberate and cunning in its planning and execution. If our courts trend toward a more lenient position, then the related laws and punishment will not have a deterring effect on teenagers. As a result, teenagers are likely to commit horrible crimes since they are aware that they have legal protection. What’s worse, these teens might recommit after they are released from jails. In some cases, the lighter sentencing might also lead to resentment towards the judicial system as victims might argue that these young offenders do not confess what they have done. This could also result in insecurity in our society eventually.

On the other hand, the circumstances of a crime and its motivation should be taken into consideration when it comes to juvenile delinquency. For example, because of distress and hunger, some teens may turn to stealing food or robbery during a period of famine. Under this circumstance, harsh punishment, such as long-term jail might not be the best solution. In my view, most of the young offenders lack parenting and self-discipline, which would mean that other alternatives, such as community service and rehabilitation might be better alternatives for them.

In conclusion, I feel that it is vitally important for judges and state legislators to ensure the justice equality regardless of the criminal’s age.
