On October 31st, 2009, Chinese famous scientist Qian Xuesen, died in Beijing when he was 98 years old. He is famous as “the country’s father of space tech nology and king of rocketry”.
Qian was born in 1911 in Hangzhou. He left for the United States after winning a schol-arship to graduate school in 1936. He studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and later at the California Institute of Technology.
Qian began his career in the US and was regarded as one of the brightest minds in the new field of aeronautics (航空学) before returning to China in 1955.
After he returned, Qian set up the first missile and rocket research institute (学院) of China. The institute later helped start Chinese space program. He led the development of China's first nuclear-armed ballistic missile (弹道导弹) and worked on its first satellite.
He retired in the year before Chinese manned space program was launched in 1992. But his research formed the basis for the Long March CZ -2F rocket that carried astronaut Yang Li-wei into orbit in 2003.
In August, 2009, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao visited Qian and praised him for devoting his life to Chinese defense technolo gies. Qian told him, “I'm trying to live to be 100 years old”

World Expo 2010 will be held in Shanghai. It will last from May 1st to October 31st, 2010. 1. Get enough nighttime sleep.
That may sound obvious, but many of us succumb to shaving an hour or two off our sleep time in the morning or at night to do other things. Most adults need seven to nine hours a night, and teenagers usually need a full nine hours. Block out eight or nine hours for sleep every night.
2. Set a wake-up time.
People who have problem sleepiness are often advised to go to bed and get up at the same time every day, including on weekends. But randomly setting an ideal bedtime can lead to more frustration if you suffer from insomnia and already have trouble falling asleep, says Barry Krakow, MD, medical director of Maimonides Sleep Arts and Sciences Ltd. in Albuquerque, N.M., and author of Sound Sleep, Sound Mind: 7 Keys to Sleeping Through the Night.
3. Set consistent, healthy mealtimes.
Regular mealtimes, not just regular sleep times, help regulate our circadian rhythms. Eating a healthy breakfast and lunch on time -- rather than grabbing a doughnut and coffee in the morning or a late sandwich on the run -- also prevents energy deficits during the day that
will aggravate your sleepiness. Plan to finish eating meals two to three hours before bedtime.
4. Exercise.
Regular exercise (30 minutes a day on most days) offers multiple benefits for sleep. Exercise, especially aerobic exercise, generally makes it easier to fall asleep and sleep more soundly.
Exercise also gives you more daytime energy and keeps your thinking sharp. And if you exercise outside in daylight, you get still more benefits. Sleep experts recommend 30 minutes
of exposure to sunlight a day because daylight helps regulate our sleep
exercising within three hours of bedtime.
5. Don't nap late in the day.
Late afternoon napping can make daytime sleepiness worse if because it can interfere with nighttime sleep.
