Unit9 How was your weekend?

Good afternoon! Today I’m very pleased to have an opportunity to talk about some of my teaching ideas. My topic is that how was your weekend. It takes from Unit 6 in Grade 7 (2). It is made up of four parts.

Part 1 my understanding of the lesson

1. the analysis of the teaching material

This lesson is talking about weekend. After learning this lesson, students are able to talk with their classmates about weekend and show their opinions. What’s more, they should receive ideological education, so that they are able to arrange their weekend more reasonably.

2. teaching aims

1) knowledge aim: catch the new words, phrases and sentence

2) ability aim: talk about their last weekend

3) emotional aim: arrange their weekend more reasonably Key points:Catch phrases and sentences

Teaching difficult points:

1) Talk about their last weekend

2) Catch the simple past tense

Something about the Ss:

1. They know little about the simple past tense.

2. They are lack of vocabulary.

3. They don’t often use English to express themselves and communicate with others.

4. Some Ss are not active in the class because they are afraid of making mistakes.

Step 1 lead-in (1’)

1) Share my happy weekend: did some sports with my friends;

2) Ask questions: How was your weekend? / What did you do? Purpose: Arouse the students’ interest of study.

Bring in new subject: How was your weekend?

Step 2 Ask and answer:

What did you do last weekend? /What did she/he do last weekend? /What did they do last weekend? (15)

Here I will ask students one by one. Meanwhile, I write the questions: What did you do last weekend? /What did she/he do last weekend? /What did they do last weekend? And the answerers they give on the blackboard

Purposes:

1) Let the students catch the sentences learnt this lesson.

2) Encourage students to speak out.

1.概念concept:过去某个时间里发生的动作或状态;过去习惯性、经常性的动作、行为。

2.时间状语adverbial modifier:ago, yesterday, the day before yesterday, last week, last(year, night, month…), in 1989, just now, at the age of 5, one day, long long ago, once upon

a time, etc.

3.基本结构basic structure:主语+动词或be的过去时+名词

4.否定形式negation:主语+was/were +not+其他;在行为动词前加

didn’t,同时还原行为动词。

5.一般疑问句general question:was或were放于句首;用助动词

do的过去式did 提问,同时还原行为动词。

6.例句:She often came to help us in those days.那些天她经

来帮助我们。

Purposes: Let students catch the simple past tense.

Step 4 pair work (exercise section A 1a) (8)

Ask the students to finish the exercise section A 1a, and ask some pairs to act out the dialogue. And then I will explain some phrases.

Purposes:

1) Train students’ ability of reading, writing and speaking;

2) Check whether they catch the sentences caught just now. Step 5 listen to the tape and catch the information. Purpose: train their ability of listening.

(If there is still time left, I will ask the students to do exercise section A 2a and act out the dialogue.)

Part 4 blackboard design

In my opinion, the blackboard design can reflect the teacher’s ability of mastering the text and leading the students to

master the text easily.

In this lesson, the difficult point is the simple past tense.

I write the concept, adverbial modifier, general question, basic structure of the simple past tense so that the students can catch it easily.

1、课前复习。 2、导入新课。先让学生自行讨论可以避免受教师的想法所局限没有自己的见解。学生合作精神的培养尤为重要,学生通过这一环节既能够有自主学习的机会,锻炼了与他人的合作,并在探索中有其个性思维发散的空间。 3、听力训练。听两遍录音,了解课文大意。 4、阅读。 5、重点词句讲解。 6、最后一个环节是作业。当学生探讨完这些问题后,我会问他们,面对这种现状,我们能做些什么呢?如何保持健康?以此为题写一篇作文。我布置这项作业的依据是新课标的要求。新课标指出:写作需有明确的动机和积极的态度,写作的题目应结合学生的实际需要,是他们具有写作的愿望这样他们才能了与写作才能重返自己的思维能力,而不是为了应付教师而做的作业。 当然,在具体的教学过程中,仍有许多问题存在。如:对学生学习的积极性的调动不够,课堂上学生的表现不够活跃。知识点的讲解还有不够清楚的地方,要在以后的教学中多努力。
