翻译学经验贴~~一点总结

看来翻译学确实不怎么火,都没人写。我只好略写几句,算是抛砖引玉啦。

我10年翻译学初试总分422,政治76,法语85,业务一135,业务二126。感觉这个分数超出自己想象很多,不敢相信是自己考的……

我是09年9月份才真正决定考北外的翻译学的。之前一直想考北大的文学(因为高考发挥失常,一直耿耿于怀~),可是考过去的师哥强烈建议我不要考。我思考再三,终于放弃了北大,现在想想也觉得算是选对了吧。大三之后的暑假本来想学习,可是由于种种原因,基本虚度了。

Ⅰ准备

1..真正开始准备是在九月份开学后。由于北外出参考书目出的晚,一开始并没有买理论的书,只是看法语和基础英语,做翻译练习。上过星光的网站,好多人说Economist不错,就下了一些看看。刚开始感觉有些吃力,很多短语都没见过,有的查都查不到。后来看多了,就觉得不怎么难了。那时开高级阅读的课,我基本每次都去,虽然不怎么认真听讲,但觉得上这个课可以学会分析文章结构,加深对文章的理解,对阅读帮助很大,尤其是长难句的理解。这个跟以往大一大二基础英语主要攻词汇语法不同。所以如果学校开这种课,建议大家不妨去上一下。在网站上下了一些往年的试题,还有些别的学校的,有空就做几套。词汇方面,虽然照单词书背单词不太好,备受批评,但我还是把八级词汇看了三遍。不为别的,怕翻译时想不起来词……最后才做近几年的真题,针对各个题型练习一下。作文后期每周一篇,以雅思作文为主。

2.翻译实践上,我买了张培基的《英译中国现代散文选》,刘士聪的《英汉·汉英美文翻译与鉴赏》和《散文佳作108篇》。从中选一些自己喜欢的文章,先看一遍原文,再看一遍译文,然后英汉对照再看几遍,并试着进行分析。开始真正动笔翻得很少,只是多读多背多分析。后来就开始规定每天必须翻译一点,但并不限时,且不求速度。从图书馆和网上搜了各种文章翻译,经济政治文史哲什么的都有。后来下到北外的真题,发现里面竟然还有古文翻译,就赶紧从图书馆借了杨宪益的古文翻译方面的书进行练习。说来可笑,读原文还不如读译文来的清楚明白,这可能也跟杨译偏向异化有关吧。到最后才限时练习,尽快完成翻译,越快越好。这对考试也有些帮助吧,因为题量实在太大,不快不行啊。

3.北外出来参考书目后,就赶紧买了翻译理论的书。其中马会娟的《当代西方翻译理论》是新书,在网上才能买到。而另两本学校书店就有卖。我先看了马教授的书,一个月才看完,而且基本不懂。看完文章后就找习题的答案,但是有些找不着,有些需要自己总结。但时间太紧,不敢看第二遍再看其他。Gent zler的书显得更乱,各种人物都在里面发表自己的看法,也是弄得一头雾水。这个也用了20多天。第三本《翻译研究》相对来说简单一点,三天看完。个人觉得此书一二三部分重要性递减。看完一遍,对翻译理

论基本无甚了解,因为太难懂了。(虽然说枯燥难懂,里面还是有好多搞笑的地方,看着看着就忍不住笑了。不知道同志们有没有类似体验~)后来看了一些中文的翻译理论,再对照英文的,才清晰一点。廖七一有本书(不好意思,书名忘了)第一章和Gentzler的内容差不多,有本《当代英国翻译理论》,忘了谁写的了,第八章第二节就是《翻译研究》第一章的内容,还有谢天振的一本书,里面有些就是马会娟那本书里的选篇的翻译。自己再找一些别的书看看,就差不多可以有个较清晰的网络。不过貌似不同人的分类方法不同,建议以参考书目为准。到考试前,三本参考书基本看了两遍,中文的反复看了几遍。建议马教授书每单元的introduction,每章的guided reading多看几遍。现在很后悔当时没有做笔记,建议想考的同志自己做点笔记,理清各个流派。

4.法语我用的是孙辉的《简明法语教程》,超喜欢这套书,觉得安排得很好,难易得当,而且有MP3,可以经常听听“最美的语言”。而且还有配套的习题答案(里面也稍微有点小错误),非常方便。法语差不多看了三遍吧。法语系的同学特别好,每周都给我们上次课,讲解语法和习题,真的特别感谢他们。

政治是最后一个月才开始看的。好在是文科生,基础好一点,记忆力还行,课本看了一两遍,(课本相当重要)做了两套配套练习,然后做点时政题就差不多啦。觉得任汝芬的序列一到四还不错。建议时政多看几本书,因为不太可能一本书能包含所有的时政考点。

5.时间安排上,因为准备得晚,所以时间抓得比较紧。每天不到六点就起了,洗刷、吃晚饭就开始学习。我没有制定太多的计划,因为制定了我也不太可能实行,只是规定一个底线,几号之前必须看完哪里之类的。一天分为上午、下午、晚上三个阶段,每阶段前几分钟看单词,进入学习状态。然后用大段时间分别看翻译理论、法语以及进行阅读和背诵,后来又加上政治。中午小憩一会,晚上十二点左右睡觉。好在我身体比较好,不然还真坚持不下来。

Ⅱ初试

每门都是三个小时,政治不说了,能写多少写多少,写整齐了。法语感觉比往年要难一点,好多单词不认识。不过只要好好复习,掌握基本的语法点和词汇,应该不会太差吧。

北外的基础英语比很多学校的都简单,题量小,题型也不难把握。阅读理解60分,其中单项选择36,排序题14,判断对错10。都不算太难。英译汉40分,翻译5个句子。最后看图作文50分,竟然只要求150字。做完前两题后,就在那儿绞尽脑汁怎么样写得言简意赅。时间很充裕,可以慢慢做。

专业课英译汉两篇,汉译英两篇,理论题一个用英语写(400字),一个用汉语写(500字)。时间很紧,每题只有半小时时间。开始我先看完全文再翻,结果做完一篇发现耗时太多,只好看了一句就翻,甚至看了一个词就翻,真是无奈啊。理论题有些出乎我的意料。因为一直以为会出某个理论家的观点,结果是某个流派的观点及对其的看法。我犹豫了很长时间才选了一个,乱写一通。但浪费时间太长,写的字

数不够。建议大家多做笔记,多总结。第二个是对翻译基本问题的看法。也是没写够字数。老师应该比较仁慈,给的分这么高。

Ⅲ复试

初试成绩出来后,颇为震惊,因为实在没想到啊。然后就不知道怎么办了,也无心学习了。所以发挥得很差,分数很低,不好意思写了……

一开始通知17号上午笔试,下午面试,可是17号上午去了才通知变成上午面试,第二天笔试,和M TI的一块。当时震惊了全场,大家都有些紧张。首先是口译。我不太喜欢做口译,而且自认没那个天赋才能,要不然就去高翻了~虽然知道有口译,但并未好好准备,很长时间没练了,做得很差。然后是自我介绍,不超过一分钟。接着老师提问一些问题,有个人的也有专业的。我这个人喜欢想到什么就说什么,一时冲动,就说了一些自己都恨不得把自己杀了的话。最让人受不了的是很多词都想不起来了,被老师提了几次才说下去。郁闷得要死……不过老师们都很和善,呵呵。

笔试是两个小时一篇英译汉,一篇汉译英,三道理论题。时间也很紧张。英译汉不难,汉译英不简单,讲的是胡爷爷的不折腾。自己乱写了一通。初试的理论题偏向参考书,复试时就更注重个人的观点和理解了。第一题给出某人的话,评论下;第二题给出一首诗,分析其中异化的观点;第三题是翻译对中国发展的影响。(貌似是这样,记不太清了)还是要有自己的想法吧。

二外听力基本没听懂,好在比重很低,不用担心。

经验教训:打牢基础,全面提高;理论多做笔记,多思考;广泛阅读,背诵美文;做翻译注重分析;提高口语,练习口译。先写这些吧,已经够啰嗦的了……以上纯属个人观点,请勿进行人身攻击~~~

2016考研英语翻译模拟练习题(5) Relativity theory has had a profound influence on our picture of matter by forcing us to modify our concept of a particle in an essential way. (1)(In classical physics, the mass of an object had always been associated with an indestructible material subst ance, with some “stuff” of which all things were thought to be made.)Relativity theory showed that mass has nothing to do with any substance, but is a form energy. Energy, however, is a dynamic quantity associated with activity, or with processes.(2)(The fact that the mass of a particle is equivalent to a certain of energy means that the particle can no longer be seen as a static object, but has to be conceived as a dynamic pattern, a process involving the energy which manifest itself a s the particle’s mass.) (3)(This new view of particles was initiated by Dirac when he formulated a relativistic equation describing the behavior of electrons.) Dirac’s theory was not only extremely successful in accounting for the fine details of atomic structure, but also revealed a fundamental symmetry between matter and anti-matter. It predicted the existence of an anti-matter with the same mass as the electron but with an opposite charge. This positively charged particle, now called the positron, was indeed discovered two years after Dirac had predicted it. The symmetry between matter and anti-matter implies that for every particle there exists an antiparticles with equal mass and opposite charge. Pairs of particles and antiparticles can be created if enough energy is available and can be made to turn into pure energy in the reverse process of destruction.(4)(These processes of particle creation and destruction had been predicted from Dirac’s theory before they were actually discovered in nature, and since then they have been observed millions of times.)
