第一部分前言

一、课程的性质

综合英语是外国语学院商务英语、旅游英语和应用英语专业的必修课程,是一门英语综合能力课。主要是传授英语基础知识,对学生进行全面的、严格的语言基本技能训练,奠定良好的语言基础,培养和提高学生综合运用英语的能力。

综合英语课程教学对象为商务英语、旅游英语和应用英语专业一、二年级学生,共开设三个学期,每周四学时。

该课程先修课程为高中英语,同修及后续课程包括英语视听说、基础英语口语、高级英语口语等。

二、课程的基本理念

1、坚持以高职教育培养目标为依据,秉承实用为主、够用为度的原则,以英语语言知识与应用技能、学习策略和跨文化交际为重点。

2、通过对英语原文材料的讲解分析,向学生系统传授词汇、语法、句法、篇章、修辞等英语语言基本知识。

3、采用行之有效的教学方法,通过课内外实训练习提高学生听、说、读、写、译综合能力。

4、在整个教学过程中有意识地培养学生多元文化思维能力及跨文化交际能力。

三、课程的设计思路

综合英语课程以现代外语教学理论为指导,以遵循语言教学和语言习得的客观规律为前提,集多种教学模式和教学手段为一体。依据高职教育培养目标,在帮助学生打好语言基础的同时,重视培养学生英语实际应用和交际能力,加大对听、说、写等产出技能的训练强度和考核比重,为学生真正具有国际交流能力打下厚实的基础。

坚持以人为本,关注学生情感,激发学生学习英语的兴趣,注重培养和提高学生的自主学习能力,为学生提供自主学习资源,在帮助其形成有效的学习策略的同时,提高他们的创新意识、创新能力、应用能力、分析和解决问题能力,为学生的后续学习和发展打下坚实的基础。

注重学生的语言实践活动。坚持以学生为中心、以教师为主导的教学原则,运用交际为目的、师生互动的教学方法,充分调动、发挥学生主体性,培养学生参与课堂教学实践活动的意识和习惯。同时最大限度地超越课堂和语言学习的限制,尽可能地拉

近课堂与社会实践的距离,使学生掌握实际工作英语交际本领,为学生步入社会打下良好的基础。

充分运用多媒体、语言实验室、网络等现代化教育技术,采用全方位、立体化、网络化的教学手段,提高教学效率和教学质量;充分利用丰富的英语教学资源,创造良好的英语学习环境,形成完整合理的教学体系。

创建客观高效的考核评价模式。对学生能力的评估实行具有综合性和全方位性的形成性评价与终结性评价相结合的方式,客观考核学生学习情况。

第二部分课程目标

一、课程目标

综合英语课程划分为第一学年和第二学年两个阶段。

第一学年主要目标是传授英语语音、词汇、语法、句法、篇章结构、语言功能意念等基础知识,对学生进行全面的、严格的听、说、读、写、译基本技能训练,使学生学会运用英语进行一般交际,培养学生形成良好的学习习惯及逻辑思维能力,为进入下一阶段学习打下坚实的基础。

第二学年主要目标是加强英语各项技能的综合训练,提高学生的逻辑思维及判断能力,培养和强化跨文化意识,使学生能够把握英语篇章主旨、文体修辞、语言技巧,学会使用工具书获取所需信息,独立完成规定的学习任务,在英语知识、应用技能及

文化素质方面得到提高,在今后的工作和国际交往中较熟练得体地进行英汉口笔头的双向交流。

二、职业能力目标

1、知识目标

1)掌握英语语音、词汇、语法、句法、修辞、语篇等基本语言知识。

2)熟悉英语国家文化背景差异。

3)掌握跨文化交际知识与交际策略。

2、能力目标

1)听力理解能力:能听懂英语授课;能听懂日常英语和一般性题材的英语讲座;能基本听懂慢速英语节目,语速为每分钟120词左右,能掌握其中心大意,抓住要点。能运用基本的听力技巧帮助理解。

2)口语表达能力:能在学习过程中用英语交流,并能就某一主题进行讨论;能就日常话题与英语国家的人士进行交谈;能就所熟悉的话题经准备后作简短发言;能在交谈中使用基本的会话策略。

3)阅读理解能力:能读懂一般性题材的英文文章,阅读速度达到每分钟80词;能基本读懂国内英文报刊,掌握中心意思,理解主要事实和有关细节;能读懂工作、生活中常见的应用型问题的材料;能在阅读中使用有效的阅读技巧和方法。

4)书面表达能力:能完成一般性写作任务,描述个人经历、观感、情感和发生的事件等;能写常见的应用文;能就一般性话题或提纲在30分钟内写出120单词左右的短文,内容完整,用词恰当,语意连贯;能掌握基本的写作技能。

5)翻译能力:能借助词典对题材熟悉的文章进行英汉互译,译文基本流畅;能在翻译时使用适当的翻译技巧。

6)词汇量:掌握5000个单词和800个词组的基本用法,并对其中2000个积极词汇能够在认知的基础上学会熟练运用。

3、素质目标

通过本课程的学习及语言综合技能的训练和实际运用,掌握语言知识和语言交际的基本技能;同时培养学生自主学习和协作学习的能力,提高学生的综合文化素养,最终能够熟练运用语言基础知识、语言技巧及跨文化交际能力来说明、处理日常工作中的事情,解决实际问题,满足工作时继续学习英语的需要。

第三部分课程内容与要求

《新21世纪大学英语综合教程》每册8个单元,每单元包括四大板块,即:视频导入(Video Starter)、精读课文(Text A)、辅助阅读(Text B)和与主题相关的补充学习活动(Additional Theme-related Activities)。视频导入板块,由一段或一组围绕单元主题展开的热身练习,教师即藉此以“拉家常”的方式跟学生交流互动,引出学习主题并启发学生的思路,激发学生的学

习热情。课文由同一题材的两篇文章及相关练习组成, 其中A课文为精读材料,配有大声朗读(Reading Aloud)、课文理解(Understanding the Text)、语言学习(Learning the Language)三大项;B课文为泛读材料,配有阅读理解检测(Comprehension Check)和深度讨论(In-depth Discussion)等练习。与主题相关的补充学习活动,旨在进一步拓宽学生视野,如引入与主题相关的名人名言(Famous quotes to appreciate)、补充视听和口语练习(Viewing comprehension and oral practice)等内容。《综合练习》每册共8个单元。每单元均由五部分组成:第一部分为听力,第二部分为词汇和结构,第三部分为翻译,第四部分为阅读,第五部分为写作,可由学生自主学习,也可由教师在课堂上择用讲解。

1、重视从掌握语言知识到对所学知识的综合应用。以学生为主体,以教师为主导,采用多种教学方法和手段,创造课堂英语语言环境,引导学生积极参与学习的全过程。

2、用热身听力训练方法,巩固语音教学成果,强调听的习惯的养成和信息捕捉能力的培养。

3、对已学词汇和语汇整理、巩固和强化,完成语音、听说、词汇、语法、句法的衔接,培养口语输出能力。

4、通过篇章阅读教学,词法教学及写作、翻译等相关技能和知识的扩展性训练,以及融合听说、听写、口译、笔译、读写等于一体的任务型教学活动,逐步提高学生语篇阅读理解能力,了解英语各种文体表达方式和特点,吸收语言和文化背景知识,扩大词汇量,充分锻炼学生的综合语言技能。

5、将学生分组,以学生为中心,以小组为单位进行各类合作学习、合作探究与演示等,培养学生的团队意识、探究能力和创新能力。

6、小班化教学了解学生个性、能力、知识结构等方面的差别,兼顾每一个体,挖掘学生学能和潜能,调动学习积极性,培养自主学习能力,充分体现因材施教、开发个性的原则。

7、课堂讲授及课堂练习、充分利用多媒体、语音室、电子课件、光盘等现代化教学手段,发挥其图、文、声、像并茂的优势提高教学效果。

8、利用校园语言教学互动平台,将教师课程教学资源与海

量网络资源结合起来,延伸课堂教学内容,增强师生互动,提高课程教学的有效性。

三、教学评价与考核方式

1、本课程对学生的评价与考核方式为形成性评价与终结性评价相结合。总评成绩满分为100分,60分及以上为及格。

形成性评价占总评成绩的40%,包括背诵课文(5%)、听写单词词组(5%)、课堂提问(5%)、课堂讨论(5%)、合作展示(5%)、课后作业(5%)、出勤情况(5%)、自主学习(5%)。形成性评价的任务是对学生日常学习过程中的表现、所取得的成绩等做出评价,激励学生学习,帮助学生有效调控自己的学习过程,使学生获得成就感,增强自信心。

2、对教师的评价按照学校教学督导与学生评教有关规定执行。
