雅思口语测试第一部分介绍（IELTS SPEAKING SECTION 1）

If you are planning to pursue a position abroad as a post-doc or a visiting scholar, you need to keep in mind that you may need to offer some type of proof of English Proficiency. One of several methods to prove your command of English is good, is by taking the IELTS Test.

如果您计划到国外做博士后或者访问学者，您有可能需要提供某种类型的英语熟练程度的证明。而雅思考试就是证明自己具有良好英语水平的方式之一。

IELTS stands for ‘International English Language Testing System’, and it is an international standardized test of English language proficiency for non-native English language speakers. The speaking module is a key component of IELTS. It consist of a face-to-face interview between the test taker and an examiner, and it is divided into 3 sections. This time, we are going to be talking about Section 1.

雅思考试是"国际英语语言测试系统"的简称，用于测试非母语的英语使用者的英语能力。口语测试部分是雅思考试的关键部分。今天，我们先来介绍第一部分。

Section 1: Introduction & Interview

第一部分：介绍和面试

v Lasts 4–5 minutes.

v 用时4-5分钟。

v You will be asked questions about: home, family, work, studies, hobbies, reasons for taking IELTS, etc.

v 您将被问及以下问题：家乡、家庭、工作、学习、爱好、以及参加雅思考试的原因等。

A: Good Mornin g. My name is Kevin Powell… Could tell me your full name and where you are from, please.

B:Good Morning. My name is Anna Liu. I’m from China.

B:早上好，我是刘安娜，我来自中国。

A: Can I see your identification please.

B:Yes, sure. (Hands over her passport)

B: 当然，可以的。（递护照给考官）

A: Thank you. Now in this first section let’s talk about what you do. So, do you work or are you a student?

A: 谢谢。现在我们开始第一部分，谈一谈您是做什么的吧。嗯，您是已经参加工作了还是在读学生？

B:I work as a researcher in the department of biochemistry and molecular biology at XXX University.

B: 我在XXX大学生物化学与分子生物学系做研究员。

A: Why did you choose that job?

A: 您为什么选择在那工作呢？

B:XXX University has a good ranking, it is also equipped with modern laboratories. In recent years, XXX University has undertaken several research projects for state science and technology. Most of these projects were supported by the National Science Foundation and various ministries and national enterprises. This motivated me to apply for this job 2 years ago. I’m glad I get to work there.

B: XXX大学排名很好，拥有有现代化的实验室。近年来，XXX大学承担了多项国家科技攻关项目，其中大部分项目得到国家科学基金会、各部委和国企的资助。正是这些促使我两年前申请到这份工作。我在这里工作非常开心。

A:Do you plan to continue with your job in the future?

A: 您以后打算继续做现在的工作吗？

B:Yes. I plan to continue working there for at least one more year, which is the time I believe it will take me to finish my current research project. Afterwards I would like to pursue a post-doctoral position abroad.

B: 是的，我计划继续留在这里至少一年，这段时间我会完成我目前的研究项目。之后，我想申请国外博士后职位。

A:Interesting. Where would like to go for your post-doc?

A: 很好。您准备申请哪里的博士后职位呢？

B:I would like to go to the US or the UK. Both countries are home to a great number of well-known academic institutions. Also, living in an English-speaking country will help me improve my command of English. Furthermore, I’ve never been outside of Asia before, and I would like to experience living in a western society.

B: 我想去美国或者英国。这两个国家都有很多顶尖的学术机构。另外，生活在一个说英语的国家将能帮助提高我的英语水平。此外，我以前从未离开过亚洲，我很想体验西方社会生活。

A: Now, let’s talk about free time. Do you enjoy your weeke nds now more than you did when you were a child?

A: 现在，来谈一下您的业余时间吧。您现在比小时候更享受周末吗？

B:No. I enjoyed my weekends more when I was a child. As I am an adult, I have much more responsibilities than I did when I was in my childhood years. As a kid, I mostly spent my weekends playing with my sister and watching TV. Now, I mostly spend my weekends reviewing my work, as I am quite busy with a deadline for a paper.

B: 不。我小时候更享受周末时光。作为一个成年人，我承担的责任要比童年时多的多。小时候，我大部分时间是和姐姐一起玩，看电视。现在，我周末大多在总结我的工作，因为我有一篇论文就快要截稿了，所以非常地忙。

A:How important is it for you to relax at the end of the week?

A:在周末放松对您有多重要呢？

B:Well, it is important to me. I believe relaxing is key for clearing the mind. Although I do spend some time reviewing my work during the weekends, I often go out with friends to get lunch and catch up. And if I don’t have time to make plans with friends or family, I relax by myself reading a book or watching TV.

B: 嗯，这对我来说很重要。我认为放松能够帮助捋清思路。尽管周末期间我会花时间总结我的工作，但也常常和朋友一起出去吃吃午饭、聊聊近况。如果没有时间和朋友或者家人一起，我就自己看书或者看电视。

IELTS Speaking scores are calculated using 4 criteria:
