(二)【语法讲解】

1. 本课中出现了好几次反意疑问句。反意疑问句是口语中常用

的一种句子形式，一般由两部分组成，即“陈述句+附加疑问句”。陈

述句的谓语含有动词be或助动词，附加疑问句助动词要重复这些词，

且前半部分为肯定时，后半部分要否定;反之，如果陈述句为否定，则

附加疑问句要用肯定形式。

2. 今天的对话是在电话中实行的，那么电话中有什么特定表达呢?

Yes, speaking.

这两句话是朋友间打电话时的常用语。speaking 可译作“请讲”，

句中we will be late...是一个宾语从句，作动词tell的宾语。这个宾语从句省略了引导词that。

4. She invited Charlotte and me to dinner this evening.

她邀请我和夏洛特今晚去吃饭。

在英语中，为了表示客气常常把其他人的姓名放在“我”之前，请注意中英文不同的语序。

5. I don't know when I'll finish.

这也是一个宾语从句，从句中的引导词when不能省略。类似的句子还有：My wife wants to know if Mary needs any help; I don't know what you're talking about等。

An American team explored a temple which stands in an ancient city on the promontory of Ayia Irini. The city at one time must have been prosperous, for it enjoyed a high level of civilization.
