Personally, I prefer living in the countryside. I just want to live closer to the nature. And I will have access to clean water and fresh air. And the scenery there is very picturesque(如画般的). And I hope to live a slow-paced life(过慢节奏的生活) there.

Well, I feel most proud of my country’s rich culture and history as well as its incredibly rapid development. You know, within just 2 decades, it has become the second largest economy in the world. Besides, development in technology, such as the high-tech industry, is phenomenal (惊人的).

(回答一) Unfortunately, no. I don’t know it so well. Because, you know, China is a great country with more than 5000 years of history. I only know a few things like some important events happened in various dynasties. But there are still so much more to explore and learn.

Actually, I take a rest for 2 hours in the afternoon during weekdays, which helps me get more focused and I also have 2 days off every weekend.

Well, if it’s a short time rest of 1 or 2 hours. I usually take a nap, or sip a cup of coffee or just chitchat with friends online. But if it’s a long time rest, like a couple of days off, I would rather stay at home, not going anywhere.

Well, I celebrate Chinese new year in various ways. You know, I celebrate it by having an elaborate(丰盛的) family dinner. And I also set up fireworks to welcome the new year.

(回答一) Definitely I do. I still remember the new year of 2018. I celebrated it with a bunch of my friends in Hongkong because there was a new year countdown celebration(倒数活动). We enjoyed the most stunning light show and firework show. Anyway, we had a whale of a time(度过愉快的时光).

about the reasons. But i recon it’s because people feel that they need to make changes,do new things. And they start making new plans and new resolutions. Maybe that’s why.

●Have you visited a farm?

(回答一) Honestly, I have never visited a farm before, you know, I always live in the city. Farms are usually in the countryside. I only see farms from books. But I would like to visit one in the future.

(回答二) Yeah, actually, I lived in the countryside when I was little. There were farms around my house. And I could see lots of crops, chickens and sheep.

Well, I suppose I’m into dairy farms.

I would say farming is really essential/ vital. You know, it’s the main source of people’s livelihood. I mean, farming provides fresh produce, like fruits and vegetables, and all kinds of meat. Without farming, people would suffer from hunger.

(回答一) Well, I never did farm work when I was little. You know, I never lived on a farm before. I always live in the city. So, I didn’t.

New activities

Do you like to try new activities? Why?

Honestly, I quite enjoy my current stage of life. I think one day life will flash before my eyes.

Well, I would say that my childhood was the happiest phase of life. My childhood was carefree (无忧无虑的) and innocent (天真无邪的). I had no worries and no tensions. I had all kinds of fantasies(幻想), so I really enjoyed it.

I mean, you can receive a reply immediately, if you use texting, you might receive a reply 30 minutes later or even a few hours later.

Honestly, I do make a list when I shop. I think it’s very essential because it helps me remember all the items I need.

Yes, I’m a very forgetful (健忘的) person so I make a to-do list (必做清单) for my work. I like to have everything planned. I make a list so as to (为了;以便于) check out my schedule and not to miss any appointments(不错过任何约定行程). I believe it’s a great way to manage my time effectively(有效地管理时间).

●Why don’t some people like making lists?

Well, I’m not sure, but I suppose maybe they are lazy. They don’t know how to manage their time properly and efficiently. Or maybe some of them have good memories, they keep everything in mind(牢记;放在心上), so they don’t create a list.

●Do you prefer to make a list on paper or on your phone?

I definitely prefer to make a list on my phone. It’s portable and more convenient. I mean, I can check my to-do list anywhere at anytime. So, it saves my time as well.

●Do you have a lot of furniture in your home?

I think yes, I have lots of furniture in my home. There are some modern ones, like the end table(茶几) and fancy couch(沙发) in my living room. There are also some valuable antique furniture.

(回答一) Yeah, there is, actually. Last year, my sister bought me a new washing machine with many new features. Because I used to hand-wash clothes, the washing machine is really helpful to me.

I guess I can. If someone’s handwriting is neat and easy to read, he or she may be a careful and attentive(专注的) person. But if someone scribbles a lot. He or she might be a little sloppy.

Well, I definitely use a pen. And I use it to take notes during classes/work, or jot down(记下) my ideas or some important messages.

In a hurry

Concentration

●When do you need to be focused?

I think I need to be focused when I’m doing a test or when I’m working(writing homework/ writing a report) . Because staying focused will make me more efficient (更有效率) and more productive.

●What may distract you when you’re trying to stay focused?

(回答一) I think noises can be a distraction for me, which are so annoying(烦扰的). And the most nagging(难以摆脱的) distraction is my phone, actually. Because I can’t resist(忍住) to check the notifications (消息通知) from time to time.

(回答二) Well, I think I’m easily distracted by all kinds of stuffs around. Like the noises made by others and especially all kinds of notifications(消息) on my phone.

●What do you do to help you concentrate?

(回答一) I would create a schedule or a to-do list and stick to(坚持) it, which helps me to eliminate(消除) all the distracting thoughts. Besides, I will find the best time and environment. And turning off my phone would be very helpful as well.

(回答二) I guess it’s helpful for me to stay concentrated as long as I switch my phone to silent mode(调到静音模式) or just put aside(放在一边) my phone. Then I would be able to focus on the things that I’m doing.

●Is it difficult for you to stay focused on something?

To be honest, it’s not difficult for me to be concentrated. I can immerse(沉浸;专注) myself in the things that I’m doing and try to clear away(清除) all the distractions and keep working on things until they’re completely done.
