A.Well, I would love to talk about my little girlfriend‘s iPod, a trendy mp3 player, which I would

always take along with me wherever I go. Though it is an mp3 player I seldom use it to listen to music ,but to something called a Podcast, which basically it is a kind of ―radio‖ program broadcasting on the web. There are so many different programs, about culture, news, politics and even language learning. I am particularly fascinated by the free educational resources it provides. Now I have French, German and Japanese learning programs on my iPod .Given me some time, I am pretty sure I can speak some French, German or Japanese or at least some daily phrases. In a word, iPod is special to me not only because it can accompany me wherever I go just like my girlfriend, but also because it is a new technology that I have greatly benefited in language learning .

B Well, if the question is presented to my close friends, I am pretty sure all of

them would say the iPhone. So do I. I got my iPhonefrom my dad as a birthday present last year. Si nce then, it‘s become a total necessity in my life.

For me, it's WAY more than a phone. I think of the iPhoneas a platform, a great platform actually, th at allows millions of apps to be presented and used. For instance, there is an awesome app on my iP honecalled WeChat, which is a convenient tool of sending instant voice messages that can be read o n-demand. Every day, I can hear voices from my friends and vice versa. This free app

spares me from the high cost of making phone calls and draws close friends who are thousands mile s apart. Moreover, because of the iPhone‘sextraordinary graphics performance, we can play high qu ality games in the palm of our hand. Game apps, like Fruit Ninja or Angry Birds, are a good way of killing time and make the long waiting time less irritating.

I really love my iPhone. It‘s practical, it‘s clever and it‘s also stylish. I really can‘t think of any other

electronic product that is so irreplaceable in my life.

Well, there are lots of plants which are important to people in my country, such as

peonies, orchids, pines and cypresses, to name a few. They are all beautiful as well as ornamental. B ut what I am going to say is a lot more common and practical. It is peanut. When I was little, nea rly every family in my village grew peanuts. Therefore, I know

exactly how a considerable number of peanuts cling closely to the roots when they are pulled out of soil. You will feel refreshed as you breathe in the soothing aroma they give out along with the smell of wet soil and grass. To tell you the truth, I‘ve never heard people I know hate peanut. It is so ta sty. The

goodies made out of the peanuts are necessities for people who drink bears, watch TV or celebrate f estivals. Besides, it is extremely useful. We Chinese consume a large amount of peanut oil. And som e traditional Chinese medicines contain peanut to cure symptoms like malnutrition and coughing. M ost importantly, peanuts are cheap. Anyone can afford to eat them. I myself love peanuts too. Fo r me, they are not merely a kind of food but a symbol

that represents humility and usefulness. Coz unlike nice-looking apples and

cherries, which win people‘s admiration with their brilliant colors, tiny little peanuts bury themselve s underground and remain unearthed until they are ripe. So I would like to take after peanuts, being

humble and useful, though not great or nice-looking.

Last summer, I went to a personal garden which belongs to one of my relatives. It is situated in the downtown, and not far from the central park. I spent a nice day there and I saw a lot of rocks and beautiful flowers, trees and a clean, clear stream right in the front of the house. My relatives told me the history of the garden which was passed down from the last generation, having hundreds of years‘ hist ory. I liked this typical Chinese style and seemed forget everything, my sorrows, worries

all gone.

Well. The room that I spend most of my time in is my bedroom. Actually, because of my father‘s bu siness, my family moved around many times when I was young. And we finally settled down in a n ewly-built housing estate about six years ago. You just can‘t imagine how excited I was when knowi ng that I could have a permanent bedroom of my own. It is quite run of the mill at the first glance. T he wall is white and the floor is covered with light yellow square ceramic tiles. But if you take a clo ser look at it, you will marvel at the ingenuity of the designer. There is an emerald green apple-shap ed light on the ceiling. It makes me happy when I lie on the bed staring at it and doing nothing. Besi de my bed, there is a big built-in desk and several closets. I have to say, every space of my room is perfectly utilized. Most of time, I would study in my bedroom. It is well-lighted. I don‘t have to turn on the table lamp in the day time. It is in this room that I went through a hard time preparing for the college entrance exam whole-heartedly. So it means a lot to me. Apart from studying, I‘ve planted q

uite a lot of small green plants and flowers on the windowsill. My room would be full of vitality wh en the light shines in through the window.Staying in this room makes me feel safe and calm. You kn ow, as the door is closed, me and all the secrets, perplexities or joys are locked in this private space. Sometimes, I just love being alone and enjoy a little bitof privacy

Opening : what it is

I‘ve seen quite a fewfilms based on real stories, most of which are from Hollywood. The one I‘d lik e to talk about is Titanic, which is truly a masterpiece of the world-renowneddirector James Camero n. What story it tells:

The film is a romance story set amid the sinking of Titanic -the most astonishingshipwreckin history , which caused the deaths of over a thousand people. The director fully capturesthe horror and scale of the tragedy, and delicately portraysthe love between Jack, a third class passenger who was a talen ted, yet penniless artist, and Rose, a first class passenger who was supposed to marry a proud and w ealthy guy.

When and where you saw it:

I think it‘s safe to say that almost everyone has seen it. And I actually saw this film several months a go, in a 3D theatre with my friends.

What you feel about the film:

I went to see the film because everyone was talking about it, and I really wanted to find out what all the fuss was about. Having watched it, I have to admit, it is truly one of the best films I've ever see n. I particularly applaud the scenes that depictthe love between Jack and Ross. For example, there w as a scene that Jack gave up the small piece of wooden slab to Rose when they were both soaked in nipping cold water. It tugged at my heartstringsas I watched Jack slowly lose his strength and tempe rature and finally stop breathing. Ending:

Well, to sum up, I think the movie is really sad but inspirational, for it makes me believe that love c an triumph over the fear of death.

I took a psychology class last summer in the city center. My company sent me there to get better know the skills to deal with customers. I learned a lot from the class. A professor of the psychological field came all the way here to tell us how to be a successful seller and how to face emergency when you are in trouble. We even did an experiment that one of our classmates played to be a customer and the other became a seller. Our teacher told us how to make the price sounds reasonable and acceptable to the consumer. He asked us to know the consumer‘s hobbies and habits at first time so as to build a solid connection between each other. I really appreciated this lesson and I will use these experiences to my work.

Well. There are times when people need other‘s help and lend a helping hand to others as well. I am no exception. Last year, I helped my roommate to see a doctor as she could barely walk because of the great pain caused by kidney stone.

Actually, it was in a snowy morning, I waked up and saw that she was trembling all over and as white as a sheet in her bed. She thought it would be alright after a while. Without a second thought,

I took all the cash I had and helped her to get dressed, and then we hurried to the nearest hospital in

a taxi. However, after all the difficulties we had in catching a taxi and all the coldness and pain my roommate suffered, the hospital did not put an immediate end to it. We had to stand in a long line to pay the registration fee first. What pissed me off was that there were still more patients before us waiting to see the doctor. Later, with prescription in hand, I had to do the whole waiting thing again to pay for and pick up medicine separately. Thankfully, the acute pain of my roommate was greatly relieved by a shot of painkiller. As we returned to school, I put her to bed and saw her grateful look. For my part, I think it is quite natural to help people we care about and expect nothing in return. And I believe a friend in need is a friend indeed. Besides, I do enjoy the feeling of being needed.

Actually, there are quite a lot of popular leisure activities people do near the sea, such as strolling al ong the beach, writing characters or drawing pictures on the sand, or playing beach volleyball. Luck y for me I grew up near the sea. When I was little, I could go there everyday with my playmates, doi ng all kinds of fun things. It was more like a large playground for us. There‘s something I still like t o do when I am at the beach in my hometown -digging into sand for shellfish such as clams. It is a v ery relaxing activity. Minimal thinking is required. All you need to do is keep digging slowly and g ently. If you dig them with great strength, you would probably end up withlots of smashed shells. E ach time I can bring home a little bucket of clams. It doesn't necessarily mean that I am very patient.

I just love to spend hours doing things I like. And I bet few people wouldn't love digging clams as i t is so easy and fulfilling. You can imagine how happy I am carrying so many clams home before su nset. Because of me, my family would have one more palatable dishon the table.

Ok, well after a bit of thought, what I‘ve decided I‘d like to talk about is what I learned from my granddad about how to invest in the stock market.

And as for why he taught me this, well firstly, it was because my grandad understood the importance ofinvesting, as he w ould always say that it‘s much better having your money work for you rather than the other way round! So that‘s one thing, and I should also mention the fact that he used to really love playing the stock market, and in fact, I think I would go so far as saying that he spent most of his time doing it,partly, I suppose, because it kept his mind active, but probably more because he kind of saw it as a way of helping the family. In other words, what I mean is that he was doing this in order to try and maximise the inheritance that he would eventually pass down to us, which was very considerate of him.

And I suppose one other reason for him teaching me about the stock market is that he was aware that at school, we weren‘t really taught about money or investment, so he must have realized that this was something that he was in a good position to teach me about, you know, what with all his experience in the business world.

But anyway, regarding how my granddad taught me about the stock market, well what he mainly did was just spent a lot of time explaining to me all the different factors that affected share prices, and he also told me what kind of things to look for in a company before investing in it. A lot of it was also trial-and-error, because naturally, I did n‘t get it right every time, especially at the beginning, but my grandfather would always help me try to learn from my mistakes and see where I went wrong. And in so doing, I became quite good at it!

And it‘s great, coz I‘ll be able to use this knowledge for the rest of my life. So I‘m super grateful to my granddad, and will make sure I pass the same knowledge onto my own children and grandchildren!

Well. I would like to say something about my college library. It was a five-storey buildingresembling the Olympic stadium Bird‘s Nest. Though it was a bit far from the dorms, it was always popular among students, especially at the end of a semester.

In fact, most students loved it for it was a quiet place for studying. But I knew it meant much more than that. There were thousands of appealing books, free internet access and online lectures of various topics. Each time I finished reading a book, I felt positive and full of strength in mind. And thanks to the computer room, I got access to many open classes and other learning materials online, which were truly eye opening. What‘s more, I met my boyfriend in this very library. So I guess love usually comes when you least expect it. We first spoke to each other because of a book we both wanted to lend. It was a little bit dramatic, wasn‘t it?

Anyway, I was grateful for all things that this library gave me. For all four years, I did not fail any subjects, and learning became an indispensable part of my life. I hope all students could go there as often as they can and make full use of it. I am sure that spending time in the library is much more rewarding than merely frittering it away by playing video games or hanging out with friends all day long.

Ok right then, well there are actually quite a few languages that I would like to learn, but probably the one I‘d like to learn most is French, partly because I think it sounds really nice, and also because France is a country that I‘d really love to visit sometime. And so if was able to speak French, I would then be able to converse with the locals, which I think would give me a much better understanding of the country and also make my time there a lot more interesting and enjoyable.

Anyway, as for how I would learn it, well I guess first of all I would try and find a decent self-study course on the Internet. And as well as that, I suppose another thing I would do would be to look for a teacher, preferably a native speaker if possible, because I would then be able to get feedback on what I was doing right and wrong. And having a native speaker as my teacher I think would be extremely beneficial in terms of developing a good accent.

And regarding what equipment I would need to study French, well thinking about it, I suppose it would be more or less the same as what I‘ve been using for learning English, so basically a laptop and mp4 player, with which I would be able to dowload various things like podcasts and other learning materials onto.

So that‘s probably how I would learn the language, and finally, with regard to what difficulties I think I might encounter, well firstly, I imagine I might have quite a bit of difficulty with the pronunciation, as it‘s so different to Chinese. I mean, there are so many sounds in French which we don‘t have in our language,so I‘m sure it would take an extremely long time to speak it well. And besides the pronunciation, I guess it might also be pretty difficult mastering the grammar, simply because every language has its own set of grammar rules, and I‘m sure French is no exception!

So yeah, I suppose that‘s about it then. Thanks for listening!

Describe a car or vehicle you would like to have in the future You should say: Which will you choose What it will look like How much it will cost And explain why you'd like to buy it. Ok, I‘m going to describe a car I would like to have in the future. Well we‘re spoilt for choice nowadays with the huge range of cars and vehicles on the market, but one car that appeals to me a lot is an SUV. And as for what it will look like, well, thinking abou t it, I wouldn‘t want it to be too flashy, as it might draw unwanted attention, so I‘d rather go for something relatively low-key. So this being the case, I would choose a plain and simple colour like white, because although it‘s one of the most common car colours, I still

reckon it looks the best, as long as the car is kept clean! Going on to my next point, then, which is regarding how much it will cost, well, to be honest with you, I‘m not really that sure as I haven‘t done any research, but I guess the price range of a mid-end SUV would be somewhere between three hundred and four hundred thousand renminbi, so it won‘t be cheap, but hopefully by the time I need one I‘ll have sufficient funds to get one! Finally, if there‘s time, with regard to why I‘d choo se an SUV over other cars, well, to put it simply, I reckon SUVs are among the safest cars on the road, and the reason for saying that it is because you are sitting higher up, so on the off chance you collide with another car, you‘re less likely to get inj ured than if you were sitting in a normal car. And just one final thing to add would be that I would definitely make sure the car is equipped with ESC, which stands for electronic stability control, which means that if you make a sudden turn to avoid something, your car will automatically remain in control. So this, for me, would be essential, as the traffic in China is pretty chaotic, as I‘m sure you know! Ok, I think that‘s pretty much everything, so thanks a lot for listening.

Ok then, well the occasio n I‘d like to talk to you about was actually one of my first lectures I had at university, which I suppose must have been about four or five months ago, at the beginning of the semester.

And regarding why I was late, well it was mainly due to the fact that I overslept. You know, I didn‘t hear my alarm go off, so I somehow just slept through it. And the reason for that was probably because I was up quite late the night before. I mean, it was the beginning of the university year, and so I‘d been out with my n ew roommates. You know, we thought it would be good to go out for a few drinks and get to know each other a bit!

So I ended up going to bed at about two or three in the morning, which explains why I overslept a little. And to make matters worse, I remember waking up with a splitting headache and feeling pretty hungover, which is not the best way to start a new course at university I know, but anyway, that‘s the way it was.

And when I finally got to the lecture theatre, it was really quite embarrasing, because the door was right at the front of the room, so everyone saw me walk in late, including the lecturer, who actually stopped talking and turned round to look at me. So it was a horrible feeling, and the first thing I did was apologize to him for being late and disturbing everyone, and then I went to find a seat at the back as soon as possible!

Thankfully though, the guy who was sitting next to me was nice enough to tell me everything that I‘d missed, which I was extremely grateful for. But the only unfo rtunate consequence was that I hadn‘t really left a very good first impresson on my lecturer, as you can imagine! So I decided to make a big effort, from then on, to always be on time for his lectures, which I‘m happy to say I have

been up to now!

So yeah, that‘s about it. Thanks for listening.

Well, the first person that came to mind when looking at this topic was actually one of my neighbours, who I guess must be approaching her 80s now, and so I'd like to tell you a little bit about her and why I enjoy talking with her.

As for how I got to know her in the first place, well if I'm not mistaken, I met her when I was walking my two dogs in the gardens of the apartment complex where I live, and one of my dogs just ran straight up to her, and literally jumped up and gave her a hug! I remember at the time, I was slightly worried because I wasn't sure if she liked dogs or not, but thankfully, it turned out that she was a big animal lover, so she had no problem with my dogs, and she now even looks forward to seeing them every time she comes out for a walk.

Anyway, with regard to what we talk about when we see each other, well, it's kind of hard to say, because there's not really anything in particular that we always talk about, you know, it could be the weather, my studies, something in the news, but generally what normally happens is that she asks me how things are going, and after listening to me she will then offer some of her thoughts and advice, which I really appreciate, because she‘s obviously experie nced a lot more than I have in life. And just to give you a little example of some of the stuff we talk about, when I bumped into her a few days ago, I mentioned to her a problem I was having with an essay I had to write, because it was a two and a half thousand-word essay about something extremely dull, and, for the life of me, I couldn't think of anything to write. But she just said to me, ―forget about how much you need to write, just imagine you can write it as long or as short as you want.‖ And it wa s amazing, because when I changed my mindset to how she suggested, it suddenely became much easier to write the essay, and I even ended up writing over three thousand words.

So this is just one example, and I guess it partly explains why I like talking with her a lot, because, she's always able to give me good advice, whether it be in my studies or any other aspect of my life, and I'm super grateful to her for this.

I should also finally mention that she's an incredibly nice lady, so it's always really enjoyable chatting with her.

Thanks very much for listening.

Well, last month I bought a bag on Taobao, which is the largest online shopping platform in China. The bag was really disappointing, coz the bright sunflowerbag showed on the website turned out to be a brown mustardone. The colourwas ridiculously disgusting, that no one with any sense of fashio n would ever leave the house with it. What‘s worse, I almost fainted when I sniffed the terrible smel lit gave out. And the pungent odourwould not easily dissipate after I‘d washed it over and over agai n. I felt awful at the thought of beingtaken in. And I highly doubted the old saying: seeing is believi ng, for I was totally misled by the pictures posted on the website. In spite of these two main drawbacks, I still kept the bag, because I was reluctant to go through the complex process of returni ng it! The primary reason why I bought the bag online was that I thought I wouldn?t have to make d o with the second best, since there was such a broad selection of bags. But it seemed that the bag wa s not even good. I should be prudent aboutshopping, especially online shopping. Now, this bag is sill tucked in one of my closets, only to serve as a reminder of just how unreliable some online retail ers could be.

Ok righ t then, well the cafe that I‘d like to talk to you about is one called Feibi Cafe, which is somewhere in the outskirts of the city, just a few minutes‘ walk from where I live.

And as for how often I go there, well I actually go there quite a lot, probably something like once or twice a week. Having said that though, it really kind of depends how busy I am. I mean, there are times when I don‘t go for weeks on end because I‘m simply too busy with stuff, but normally that‘s not the case, and I‘m there pretty regularly, as I just mentioned.

Anyway, regarding what kind of things they serve there, well it‘s great, because they‘ve got a really good selection of both Chinese and Western food, so there‘s a lot to choose from. And in terms of drinks, there‘salso quite a lot on the menu, especially coffee, which you can probably imagine, what with it being a cafe and all. And I tend to normally always go for the Americano coffee, cos I think they do it really well, and so I‘ve never really felt the need to try any of the other drinks on the menu.

But anyway, finally then, moving on to why I like this place so much, well I‘d say it‘s a combination of reasons, one of which would be that it‘s really big and spacious, at least compared to most of the other cafes I‘ve bee n to, so you never have to worry about not finding a place to sit. Although having said that, it can sometimes get pretty busy in the evenings, so I usually tend

to go in the morning or afternoon. Anyway, another thing to mention would be that the food and drinks there are pretty good-value. Because I mean, most of the Western food there only costs between about 30 to 50 yuan, which is a lot cheaper than most of the other Western reatuarants in the city. And the price of the coffee there is round about the same price as Starbuck‘s, which some people might see as expensive, but considering the fact that you‘re paying for the environment as well as the drink, I‘d say it‘s definitely worth it.

Oh and the other thing I really like about it is that you can spend as much time as you want relaxing there, without being bothered by the waiters. And the chairs there are nice and comfy, so it‘s actually very easy to spend half the day there using the free wifi or doing whatever.

So yeah, I guess that‘s about it!

Ok, right then, well the person I‘d like to talk to you about is a very good friend of mine called Matthew, the reason being that he must be one of the nicest and most polite people I know, which I‘ll come to explain in a moment.

But firstly, as for how I know him, well we‘ve basically known each other since middle school, because we were in the same class together, and we still see quite a lot of each other. You know, if I

feel like going out and doing something, I normally give him a call and see if he‘s fr ee to meet up. And moving on to why I think he‘s so polite, well it‘s basically because he‘s just got really good manners. And just to give you an example, he always says thank you to people, even for the slightest thing. For instance,I‘ve noticed that wh enever we‘re eating at a restaurant, he will thank the waiters and waitresses every time they bring a dish to the table. And another example would be that whenever he gets off a bus, he will always say thank you to the driver, which a lot of people probabl y think isn‘t necessary, but I‘m sure the bus drivers really appreciate it, as do the waiters and waitresses, because it‘s not all that often they hear people thanking them!

So yeah, that‘s basically why I‘d say he‘s such a polite person, and I‘m just trying to think if there‘s anything more to add, um……, oh yeah, and one other thing to mention would be that he‘s always very complimentary to people. So what I mean is that he tends to always say nice things to people, for example he might make a comment about how nice someone‘s looking, or how good their cooking is, which I know might be seen as being a bit um,…what‘s the word……um… insincere, but I think he genuinely means what he says, at least most of the time anyway!

And I mean, I can‘t remember a single time when he‘s ever been rude or unpleasant to anyone, and I also can‘t really imagine him being nasty to anyone either.

So yeah, that‘s pretty much it then. Thanks for listening.

Ok then, well I‘m actually quite lucky in the fact that I‘ve been invit ed to quite a number of special meals, and the one I‘ve decided to talk to you about was a farewell dinner of a good friend of mine, because he was about to go off to Canada for a few years to start university there, so he invited a few of his close friends for a farewell dinner before heading off.

And one of the reasons I‘ve chosen to talk about this meal instead of some of the others I‘ve been to is simply that it‘s still quite fresh in my memory. You know, it was only about a couple of weeks ago when it happened. And as for where we had the meal, well I can‘t remember the exact name of the place, but it was quite a posh restaurant somewhere in the centre of the city, and judging from how nice it looked when I walked in, it seemed to be a pretty expensive place to dine. So I was kind of relieved that it wouldn‘t be me footing the bill! And we also had our own separate room, which was nice, and probably just as well, seeing as we made quite a bit of noise during the meal, what with all the laughing and stuff going on.

Anyway regarding what we ate, well I couldn‘t tell you every single dish that we had, because there was just so much, you know, the whole table was literally covered with food. I mean, there was crab, chicken, duck, what else, um,……oh yeah, shrimps, and, uh…..oh and a whole load of different vegetables. So by the end of it, I was absolutely stuffed. You know, we all ate masses, because the food was so good, and it would have been a bit of a pity to see it go to waste!

But anyway, finally then, with regard to how I felt about the meal, well to put it simply, I really enjoyed it. Because as well as the food, which was fantastic, I really enjoyed everyone‘s company. You know, it was great being together with so many good friends, many of which I had n‘t seen in quite a while.

So yeah, all in all, it was a really special evening, and I‘m extremely grateful to have been invited, and also very grateful to my friend for his generosity, as the bill must have come to quite a lot, I‘m sure!

Ok right then, well the film I‘m gonna talk about is called Waterworld, the reason being that it‘s the only one I can actually remember watching which was set in the future.

So anyway, as for when I watched it, well I suppose it must have been around five or six years ago, when I was still at middle school, and regarding what the film was about, well basically, it‘s set at a time when the planet is almost completely submerged in water, because the ice caps have all melted due to global warming, and so the sea levels have risen to a point where all land has pretty much been covered by water.

So that‘s the situation, and basically what happens in the film is that everyone‘s living on boats and looking for land. And if I remember correctly, there‘s a girl who‘s got some k ind of map tattooed on her which shows where land can actually be found.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, the film finishes with them eventually finding the land and living happily ever after, which came as no surprise to me, seeing as most Hollywood movies tend to end that way.

So yeah, that‘s basically the gist of it, and as for what I thought of the film, well to tell you the truth I didn‘t really think it was all that good, because I mean the plot was a bit too predictable, you know, there was no real suspense. So in that respect, I thought it could have been better. But saying that, I suppose there were also a few things I did like about it, one of which was the special effects, which I thought were pretty impressive.

And another thing I liked about the film was that it made me really kind of appreciate the land that we have around us, which I know sounds a bit ridiculous, but I mean, before watching the film, I kind of just took it for granted and didn‘t really think much about it. So in a way it sort of helped me appreciate my life a bit more, if you know what I mean!

So yeah, I guess that‘s pretty much all there is to say. Thanks for listening!

Well. When I was little, my granny took care of me for a year or two as my parents were too busy with their work. In granny‘s house, I found a peculiar doll dressed in Turkey red, just like a clown. It was ragged with several holes in its clothes. I could even see its infill through some larger holes. But I still loved it for it was the first doll I got, you know, finders keepers.

There was a time when I stared at it and hugged it all day long with great curiosity and happiness. And the two of us played many games, most of which were role plays. At that time, I regarded it as a friendly and enigmatic playmate, who wore a big smile all the time but hated talking and moving. However, as I grew older and became truly aware that it was nothing but a lifeless doll, I gradually lost interest in it. But I always take it with me when I move to a new place since I am nostalgic and would like to keep it as a precious memento of my childhood memories.

Oftentimes, I would gaze it smilingly and recall many silly but lovely things I once did as a naive kid. Also, I feel a little bit of sadness as I see its patched cloth es. The holes of the doll‘s clothes were neatly mended by my late granny. It was a pity that I came to know how much she loved me after she was long gone.

Ok right then, well to be honest, there aren‘t really that many speeches I‘ve heard which I can remember in much detail, you know, I tend to forget most talks pretty much as soon as I‘ve finished listening to them! Butone talk that did leave a particularly deep impression on me was by Li Kaifu, who I‘m not sure if you‘ve heard of before, but he‘s one of the most accomplished and respected people here in China, which is why I made the effort to listen to what he had to say.

And I listened to his speech at home on my computer, because I haven‘t been fortunate enough to hear him speaking live yet, so I basically just found an mp3 recording on Baidu, which I then downloaded onto my computer and listened to.

But anyway, as for what his speech was about, well it was quite a while ago when I heard it, so I can only remember bits of it, but in a nutshell, it was basically about success and how we can go about achieving it. And so in his speech, he outlined a few things that we can do if we want to lead a successful and fulfilling life, which most of us do of course!

So for example, one thing he touched upon was how we should all follow our dreams, instead of simply doing what other people expect of us. And hearing this from Li Kaifu himself really made me believe in the truth of that statement, because he‘s speaking from experience. And he also went on to explain that many other successful people also attribute their success to the fact that they pursued their dreams.

But anyway, finally, with regard to what I thought of the talk, well to put it simply, I thought it was really informative and so I was able to learn a tremendous amount from it, such as, you know, how to be successful in what we do, and also what values we should live our lives by.

What else?……um……Oh yeah, and another thing that made his talk especially interesting was the fact thathe used a lot of stories. So I mean, even though his talk went on for over an hour or so, I didn‘t feel bored at all listening to it, and in fact I even made a mental note that, if I ever have to do any public speaking myself in the future, I‘ll also try to include a few stories, like Li Kaifu did.

So yeah, that‘s pretty much everything I can remember about it. Thanks for listening!

Well, I'm fortunate enough to have been to a number of musical events, but one which really stands out in my memory was a pop concert I went to about a year or so ago here in Hangzhou.

And as for how I knew about the concert, well I honestly can't remember, but what's probably most likely is that I heard about it through one of my friends called Ronnie, who always seems to know what's going on around the city.

Anyway, as to why I decided to go to it, well, to put it simply, it was because one of my favourite popstars, Jolin Cai, was performing, and I had never been to see her live before, so that was basically why.

And finally, regarding what I thought of it, well, in terms of the music, I thought it was a pretty good concert, because each of the popstars performed a good selection of songs, and even though I was sitting quite far back, I could still hear everything really clearly.

So that was one thing, and another thing I liked was the fact that the concert was quite interactive, because there was a host who interviewed each of the popstars when they came up on stage, and at one point, a female star even invited a guy from the crowd to sing a duet with her. Unfortunately though, I didn't know the lyrics of that particular song, so I didn't put my hand up to volunteer.

But what left the deepest impression on me was when one of the singers, called Xie Tingfeng, invited a fan, who was a disabled girl in a wheelchair, onto the stage, and gave her a big hug, which really moved me. And he then took off his jacket and gave it to the girl as a memento, which was also very touching.

So yeah, it was a pretty memorable concert, which I enjoyed very much. Thanks a lot for listening.

Ok, well the first place that came to mind when I saw this topic was the Beijing Metro, because I remember it being unbelievably crowded, so that‘s what I‘m gonna talk to you about.

And as for when I went there, well it was actually pretty recently, I suppose probably only about two or three weeks ago, so it‘s still pretty fresh in my memory.

And regarding what I was doing there, well basically, I was on my way to see a friend who lives in Beijing, and she had told me that by far the best way to get around the city was using the subway, simply because the roads were so congested. So I took her advice, but it was a huge shock when I actually got into the subway station and saw just how many people there were. I mean, I knew that there would be a lot of people, but I never expected to see that many!

Although looking back on it now, I suppose what made it worse was the fact that I was travelling during rush hour, so it was a lot more crowded than I‘m sure it would have be en during off-peak times. And when I saw how packed the train was when it was pulling into the station, I remember

thinking there was no way I was going to be able to get on. But I was in a bit of a hurry, coz I was actually already running late, so I had no choice really but to join the huge queue of people waiting. Anyway, I did somehow manage to make it onto the train, but I was pressed up against people on all sides, so it was pretty uncomfortable to say the least! I mean, it was absolutely heaving, and I literally couldn‘t move at all!

Thankfully though, I didn‘t have too far to travel, coz if I remember correctly, I was only on the train for about 4 stops. And when I finally got off, I remember feeling incredibly relieved, and also very grateful that I didn‘t have to go through the same experience every day.

So yeah, I guess that‘s pretty much all there is to say!

Ok then, well after thinking about it for a bit just now, I‘ve decided that I‘d like to talk about a song by the Spice Girls called Mama, which I guess you might possibly know, as it was a really popular song when it first came out.

雅思口语Part2话题范例:Skill Question Describe a skill you wish you had. Sample answer If I ever get the chance to learn a new skill, I would like to learn karate which is a form of martial art. I had a great fascination and attraction to learn it but never had the chance actually to learn it. This is important for keeping a sound body and to remain fit. It is also a great weapon of self defense in time of adversity and sudden attack by rouge people. The greatest benefit this karate offers is a discipline and self control. Besides the physical exercise, patience and hard work karate requires a great deal of mental power, calmness and a type of discipline which are necessary for a modest life. 题目: A Handicraft Q. A Handicraft (something made by hand) You should say: What it is? What it looks like? How to make it? And explain what other people thought of it. 范文: When talking about handicrafts, I’d like to share with you my experience of making paper-cut. Paper-cut is a traditional folk art in China and it’s been very popular in some ruralareas. It is paper cut into different shapes and patterns and then pasted on windows as decorations on festive occasions, such as the Spring Festival or a Wedding ceremony. I first learned to make paper- cut in primary school when making paper-cut was part of the extracurricularactivities. The process isn’t very complicated and doesn’t take long. Well, you need a piece of red-coloured paper, a pair of scissors and a pencil. Second, draw a certain pattern or write down some Chinese characters, such as “XI, OR FU ”that represent the auspiciousnessin our culture on the folded paper. Then use the scissors to cut the paper according to the pattern. When you open it up.Ta-da, you will find out a very beautiful pattern in the centre is right in front of your eyes. Finally , paste the pattern of “FU or XI” to the front-door upside down, which means the fortuneand bliss are coming. It is a very good practice for creativityand hands-on skills. 雅思口语话题范文:电影类

环球雅思口语老师给大家带来关于电影类的口语范文一篇,大家可以练习起来囖~ Do you like watching movies? / How often do you go to the cinema? Definitely, watching movies is my cup of tea. You know, I'm always busy in studying. But I will go to the cinema as often as possible, maybe once every other week because it is one of my favourite ways to relax. I believe films are a wonderful form of art. Many of my friends have the same habit, so we always go to Wanda International Cinema on weekends together, which I think is the best cinema in Beijing. Why do you like to watch films? Firstly, I think watching films is a good way to relax. You know, when watching a film, I will throw all of my emotion to the story so that I can forget nearly everything about myself, especially the troubles. Also, I can learn many things from the roles in films, for example, I learned how to join forces to fight again devil from my favourite movie . Do you like to watch films in the cinema or at home? I prefer watching films in the cinema, absolutely. You know, the atmosphere and the sound effect are prefect in the cinema, which you cannot feel at home, facing a small screen, especially for scientific and horror. So you can understand the story and the roles' emotion better, also you are able to learn more from the films. What kind of films do you like? I love fancy film the most. They are full of magic, imagination and creativity. I believe only imagination can make our real life more colorful. My favorite movie is , which is typical of this kind of movies. I admire J.K.Rowling, the producer of it; I really wonder how those wonderful ideas came from her head! Who is your favorite movie star? My favorite movie star is Yang Ziqiong, who is very famous not only in China but also in Hollywood. She is one of the earliest actresses accepted by Hollywood and became popular in the world. She's good at martial arts. She's not very beautiful but her kongfu is really amazing, quick, clear-cut and powerful. I think she's the proud of China, not only for her position in Hollywood, but also because she spread Chinese traditional kongfu in the world. What's the difference between American films and Chinese films? I think the biggest difference lies in the purpose of the film, result from the level of freedom. You know, most of Chinese films just describe an ordinary story and focus on teaching the audience some principles, because the government controls the contents of films stringently. But because of freedom, the purpose of most American films is to give audience an impressive shock, and then earn enormous profits.
