Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay commenting on the saying “Knowledge is a treasure, but practice is the key to it。” Y ou can give one example or two to illustrate your point of view. Y ou should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words。

1、本题首段应该通过理论知识与实践技能之间的关系引出主题;

2、第二段可以进行举例论证,列举自己参加兼职打工、志愿者活动等亲身经验证明实践技能的重要性;

W ould you want a doctor to operate on you who has only learned about operations from a textbook? The answer to this is obviously a resounding “No!” Knowledge gained from books must always be complemented by knowledge gained from actual experience, to be of real value。

For me actually practicing a particular action or experiment myself and experiencing the result, leaves a much deeper and lasting impression than what I get from simply reading or listening. If I read about how to write an essay or listened to someone talk about writing an essay, I still wouldn’t feel that I knew how to write an essay until I wrote one for myself. It is the case, however, that writing the essay would be based on the methods I learned intellectually. The same can be said for other skills, like sports, for example. A person can know all the rules of a game, associated skills and strategies, but until that person gets on a court with a ball in motion, the theory remains flat, useless。

To sum up, as to theoretical knowledge and practical skills, the latter is certainly more important. Just as British churchman Thomas Fuller put it, “Knowledge is a treasure, but practice is the key to it。”

Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay commenting on the saying “If you cannot do great things, do sm all things in a great way. ” Y ou can give one example or two to illustrate your point of view. Y ou should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words。

Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a short essay. Y ou should start your essay with a brief description of the picture and then express your views on the importance of doing small things before undertaking something big. Y ou should write at least 120 words but no more than 180 words。

本题第一段应该通过做大事和做小事的关系引出主题;

第二段可以进行举例论证,列举自己身边的例子或社会热点例子来支持自己的观点,如雷锋、焦裕禄等等;

Success is something that many people strive for, but that not everyone among us

attains. When we consider the various factors that play a role in determining whether a person is successful in life, ambition and action are wtwo of the first to come to mind. Just as American writer Na poleon Hill put it, “If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way. ”

Numerous examples can be given, but this will suffice. A young person who aspires to be a great chef might decide to buy some cookbooks, spend weekends practicing and refining his culinary techniques, or take on a part-time job at a local restaurant. On the other hand, if he simply end up spending all has spare time surfing the Internet or playing video games, neither of which would give him the skills or experience needed to succeed。

In conclusion, doing great things and doing small things are both essential in determining whether we flourish or fall behind. The former gives us the drive and direction to move forward, while the latter enables us to implement our vision and “make things happen”. In combination, they represent the winning formula that wil l put us firmly on the road to success。

Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay commenting on Albert Einstein’s remark “I have no special talents, but I am only passionately curious. ” Y ou can give one example or two to illustrate your point of view. Y ou should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words。

本文第一段应该通过爱因斯坦的这句名言引出主题:好奇心的重要性;

第二段可以举出一到两个例子阐明自己的观点,例如爱迪生搞发明、牛顿发现万有引力、华罗庚学数学等等;

Complexities of human psychology are unlimited, very complicated and often difficult to comprehend. On characteristic of human beings is seldom to be satisfied with what we have and often to want something more or something different. Just as

Albert Einstein’s put it, “I have no special talents, but I am only passionately curious. ”

If there was no curiosity, we would still be living in the stone ages. Most of us are driven to do things in the most efficient way possible, which leads to experimentation and innovation. This is why we no longer use ice blocks in our refrigerators and why we drive motorized cars instead of horse drawn carriages. W e have taken this proclivity to a positive extreme by investigating every aspect of the tangible and intangible world, in the name of satisfying our thirst for knowledge and understanding。

Generally speaking, most people know that they are prone to being curious with the outside world and some try harder than others to control it. How we recognize and deal with these feelings will dictate whether our outcome is constructive or destructive。

In the modern society, with competition becomes increasingly fierce, to find a job is too difficult for the young generation. Academic qualification, as a job a

stepping-stone, is an essential factor during the job hunting.

Some people think that the highly educated must be able to find a good job, because education can prove that a person has a good capacity. Therefore, it is commonly believe that a job seeker with a master degree must be easier to find a promising job than a undergraduate. However, now the company interviewers generally prefer to required a even higher academic qualification, like a doctor degree.

Otherwise, the applicants, even though he or she has tremendous potential, will be refused relentlessly.

As far as I am concerned, education should not be the single standard in an interview. As for the companies, it is not necessarily a good principle as well. Now the whole community often talk about working ability and efficiency. For example, some people may have high academic qualification, but actually his ability is very limited. So both the individual and the community ought to change their attitude on academic qualification. We should realize that it is the operational capability and service ability which can help you to find a good job.

This picture vividly show a particularly common phenomenon that more and more college students who have low diplomas cannot find the satisfying jobs. That is to say, they have great trouble in finding fairly satisfactory jobs.

Here are some reasons why some university students with lower degrees have difficulty in getting good jobs. On one hand, more and more students are enrolled by the universities and colleges year after year, and the number is still getting larger and larger. On the other hand, quite a few employers believe that the higher degree the students have, the more competent they will become, so the companies try to recruit some high quality workers with higher diplomas.

In a word, education plays a significant role in acquiring a good job, however, just as the saying goes, don’t judge a book only by its cover, so it is not wise to interview a student by his educational background. In my opinion, we should not only put a great emphasis on the higher diplomas, but also try our utmost to raise our comprehensive abilities to a higher level, only in this way can we find ourselves highly-paid jobs.

As is vividly depicted in the picture, before the circulation desk stands a student, who wants to find a shortcut to learning, with the librarian pointing it to

him.On the lower part of the picture,we can see some English characters which read “' How To Do Well In School Without S tudying' is over there in the fiction section”.

As to me, I think there is no shortcut to success, and the English characters under the picture also mean that the shortcut to success only exist in the virtual

world.Whether you can do well in school is based on the effort that you spend on study. That is to say,the more diligent you are,the better your study is.Diligent is momentous and fundamental to people what the soul is vital and significant to us.Had it not been for it,we could not have been success. The story of Ma Yun,founder of China’s online trad ing empire, best prove the significance of diligent in realizing personal ambition and creating value to the world.

“The most crucial part of your life,”once wrote a distinguished professor, “is to cultivate the quality of diligent.”I was,and remains, the supporter of the idea that “There is no shortcut to learning.”

The picture vividly depicts that a teaching is asking a pupil to answer a simple math-related question——what’s two plus two? Unfortunately, the child cannot answer such an easy question without tech help. In fact, the phenomenon conveyed in the picture does not surprise us, because as the science and technology develops, the topic concerning the side effects of technological advancement increasingly arouses people’s attent ion.

Undoubtedly, the drawer of the picture aims at reminding us that we should use technology in a proper way and not be too tech-dependent to solve the simple problem independently. It is well known that thanks to the development of human civilization, many formerly unimaginable things come into reality. But, while enjoying the convenience produced by tech, we must alert its harm. Being over-addicted to technology will cost our health, independence, wisdom, creativity and even our ability to live.

Weighing the pros and cons of the technology, perhaps the best policy is to apply it properly. At the same time, we must avoid its harmful part. Furthermore, young people should be advised that depending too much on technology is hardly beneficial for them at all and more importantly they are expected to acquire the capacity to think independently.

Directions: For this part, your are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay explaining why it is unwise to judge a person by appearance. You can give explain to illustrate your point. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words .

In recent years, there has been a widely-held feeling towards evaluating a person on the basis of his/her appearance. On the surface, it may seem a sound idea, but on closer analysis we find it unscientific and unconvincing. There are numerous reasons for this argument, but I shall here explore only one of the most important ones.

We can never judge a person by his/herexternal appearance because no one is able to gain a full appreciation of a person merely by it. One’s good impression on

others does not usually develop from the way one looks, but the inner qualities one possesses. For example, the virtues of the Chinese people are regarded as beautiful, because they have helped to produce such a magnificent culture in the world.

From what have been discussed ablve, we may draw the conclusion that we should adopt appropriate standards to estimate persons, like their inner qualities or practical actions.

These days there is a general discussion about the issue of judging a person by their appearance. People’s opinions differ greatly concerning this phenomenon. Is it wise to judge a person by their appearance? It is definitely not.

There are numerous reasons explaining this phenomenon. First and foremost, although good appearance is helpful to leave others a good impression in the first meeting, kindness and inner thought are the most important to make friends for all life time. Secondly, many facts reflect that some people with charming appearance make no successful events, while others without handsome appearance achieve a lot. Last but not the least, with the development of science and technology, plastic surgery can change ones appearance, so maybe the people with sourness only alter their appearance but not develop their virtue.

Admittedly, it is unwise to judge a person by their appearance. So people should have more communication with others to find the beauty of their inner thought.

It is unwise to put all eggs in one basket.

Every coin has two sides. Putting all your eggs in one basket, likely, has both advantages and disadvantages. Yet, in my opinion, the disadvantages of putting your

eggs in one basket far outweigh its advantages. Thus, it is never too careful to always have plan B when we cope with important events.

Nobody can know what is going to happen in the future. When unexpected accidents happened, you would find yourself in a desperate situation, losing everything you have. Putting all you have in one thing equals to putting all the risks and pressures together. That’s why we need to think about all the possible risks and prepare extra plans ahead before we make decisions on important events. In other words, we must have different plans and preparations for fear of undesirable results.

In conclusion, it is unadvisable to put all eggs in only one basket. That’s because this may give rise to unaffordable and unexpected consequences which might make you disappointed and annoyed. Therefore, I assert that we should have alternative choices to assure everything goes well.

Part 1 Writing (30 minutes)

Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay on happiness by referring to the saying “Happiness is not the absence of problems, but the ability to deal with them.” You can cite examples to illu strate your points and then explain how you can develop your ability to deal with problem and be happy, you should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.

To solve problem, to taste happiness

“What is happiness?” is a cliché topic. Everyone has a different definition to the true meaning of happiness. For Franklin Roosevelt, “happiness is not the mere possession of money; it lies in the joy of achievement, in the thrill of creative effort.” For Elbert Einstein, “if you want to live in a happy life, tie it to the goal, not the people or the things.” Although the two great men grant different definitions to happiness, there is something in common, that is, happiness derives from the capacity to solve problems. I believe that this is true.

There is no denying that life is full of problems. Let’s take environmental pollution for example. Pollution poses a great threat to our existence. Fortunately, this public hazard has drawn our greatly attention and many effective measures are being taking to solve it. In fact, now the public are benefiting more and more from pollution prevention and control. We can enjoy clear air, health food and beautiful scenes again. Isn’t this happiness?

All in all, indeed, equipped with the ability to cope with problems should suppose to be happiness. In other worlds, in the middle of problems lies happiness.

Happiness Depends on Solving Problems

There is a saying that happiness is not the absence of problems, but the ability to deal with them. Yes, if there are no problems, we will have no development, because the problem can lead us to think and to practice, which makes us develop further. If we have no development, we cannot have true happiness. Therefore, our happiness does not rely on the absence of problems but our ability to deal with them.

If we want to grasp true happiness, we should improve our abilities to deal with them. Now that the problems have appeared, firstly what we should do is not to ignore them but to pay our attention to them. Secondly, we should think about them and analyze what we can do to handle them. Thirdly, put our hands to the solving of the problems.

After you have solved the problems, you will feel very happy, as solving the problems brings you a feeling of achievement. Therefore, if we are encountered with problems in our life, welcome them and solve them. In the process of solving one problem after another, you will feel happier and happier.

本次作文要求以“Good habits result from resisting temptation.”

Keep Our Hearts Strong

As the proverb goes, constant drops wear out the stone. Good habits help pave our way to success. However, during the cultivation of good habits we are frequently bewildered and baffled by temptations from the world around us. Only when we are alert and determined enough to resist these temptations can we take a right and unswerving road to success.

In our daily life, it is essential for us to be self-disciplined. A healthy lifestyle, which may consist of regular exercise and balanced diet, is what most people are pursuing in contemporary society. Yet many people cannot resist the coziness of staying in and temptation of tasty but fatty food, thus giving up half way cultivating

healthy habits and getting decreasingly robust. In addition, our progress in academic performance depends on good habits. We must restrain ourselves from endless entertainment. Otherwise, distracted and indulged, we can never maintain a good learning habit, let alone achieve academic excellence.

In summary, good habits rely on strong hearts that are not disturbed by temptations. With persistence and perseverance, we are heading to success.

Say No to Temptation

We are living in a world full of temptations. Due to lack of experience and determined will, many people cannot discriminate right from wrong and make bad decisions. For example, some students wallow in internet and lose themselves. Finally, they abandon their studies and ruin their future. Such things are horrible.

As the saying goes, good habits result from resisting temptation. For us college students, it is particularly important to say no to temptation and form good habits. To achieve this, firstly, distinguish between right and wrong. Stay away from adverse temptations such as smoking and playing computer games. Secondly, it is necessary

to have a long-term program, in other words, a dream. Once we have a dream, we will be conscious that our time is precious. Then we could have a strong will to say no to temptations and focus on meaningful issues. At last, in face of temptations, encourage yourself and refuse self-indulgence. Awards can be given yourself if you successfully resist a temptation. Meanwhile, good habits are formed in this process.

Only by resisting adverse temptations and developing good habits can we achieve happiness and success. Otherwise, we would pay a heavy price.

Good habits result

It is not exaggerating to say that habits determine how much a person can achieve. This is due to the magical power that habits have. It can redouble the effort of our daily behavior.

Take this for example: if you recite one word every day, you will add 365 words to your vocabulary by one year, and 700 words by two years, and 1400 words before graduation which is by far beyond the curricular of CET-6. While if you spend two hours on playing computer games—which is far less than how much time is spent in reality for college students—you will probably get addicted to it and fail your study. This phenomenon can be easily found in the college that it is high time for us to be aware of the importance of habits. We should cultivate good habits and get rid of the bad habits such as staying up late, being addicted to games, consuming

extravagantly, etc as soon as possible.

Rome was not built in one day. We can accumulate a great fortune by the tiny efforts we made every day. From now on say good bye to the bad habits and stick to the good ones, we will enjoy a profitable return in the future.

The impact of the Internet on interpersonal communication

要求:commenting on "Dad:Hi sweetie, how was school, today? Daughter: You can read all about it on my blog, Dad"

范文:

In contemporary society, our life is filled with a variety of anecdotes or stories, and the following is no exception: "Dad:Hi sweetie, how was school, today? Daughter: Y ou can read all about it on my blog, Dad." Funny as it seems, this conversation can be naturally associated with the impacts of Internet on our life: In an era of Internet, the time for interpersonal communication is impaired by online chats or blogs。

Apparently, the impacts of the Internet on interpersonal communication are diverse. For one thing, as a vital invention, Internet brings great convenience to our communication, eliminates the barrier of distance, and helps humans to keep in touch wherever and whenever. For another, it is Internet that does not enables family members, friends or classmates to communicate more in a face-to-face way. One case in point is that youngsters may spend hours chatting with acquaintances through QQ or MSN, but rarely do they talk with other face to face. Unfortunately, it we let this trend to continue as it is, the interpersonal relationship will, definitely, become alienated。

To my understanding, it is advisable for people to communicate more with their families, friends and acquaintances in real life instead of merely through the Internet. Do bear in mind: Internet is just a tool.

The Way to Success

"Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration." And here comes our question, what is the way to success?

A strong will and great efforts are the most essential two keys to the door of success.

Why do people fail to achieve their goal? The reason is that most of them give up halfway due to their lack of a strong will once they encounter any difficulty. A man of a strong will always sticks to his cause no matter how tough it might be.

W ould Thomas Edison be such a great man in history if he had done nothing but possessing a strong will? W e are all familiar with his story that he had tried one thousand kinds of materials before he finally made his great bulb light up. Without hard effort, Edison might have been a nobody. Without efforts, no one can succeed.

To sum up, a strong will and great efforts can help one open up the way to success. Where there is a will with efforts, there is a way.

本次六级考试作文题为The way to success,与本次四级考试作文Nothing succeeds without a strong will遥相呼应,大同小异,都是在讨论成功这一话题。

The Certificate Craze

Almost no one in China has failed to notice the phenomenon that a growing number of people are enthusiastic about pursuing various kinds of certificates. Taking a look around, one can find numerous examples with ease. A common case in point is that students spend a great deal of time and energy attending a great variety of certificate-oriented training courses to ensure a better score。

The purpose of acquiring certificates varies from individuals to individuals. For students, as the job market competition is becoming increasingly fierce, not only can a certain certificate prove their capabilities, but also will put them in a favorable position in the employment market and the development of their career. When it comes to white-collared workers, more job-related certificates often guarantee greater opportunities for a salary raise and promotion. What’s more, it is also a ideal way to enhance their job techniques and sharpen their competitiveness。

From my perspective, the merits of pursuing certificates are self-evident. However, we should also bear in mind that it is the practical skills, such as management, cooperation, communication, rather than certificates that guarantee one’s accomplishment in career. Accordingly, we might as well attach great importance to both certificates and the improvement of one’s comprehensive abilities。

My View on University Ranking

Nobody could have failed to notice the fact that university ranking has gained increasing popularity --- institutions home and abroad are always interested in it; newspapers and magazines are fond of carrying the news. Unfortunately, it has also given rise to some problems never thought of. Confronted with the dilemma, should we carry on the practice? When it comes to this question, people’s views vary from one to another.

People who support ranking have their reasons. They are convinced that it can stimulate people, teachers and students alike, to work harder so that they can climb on the ladder or at least maintain their position. In this way, universities can produce

more talents and knowledge demanded by our society. Also, supporters of university ranking maintain that it can act as a guide for employers when they decide where to find right employees..

But others may not agree. These people would argue that university ranking might force universities to care more about their position in the ranking but not about research that they are expected to do. For instance, it is often reported that some professors spend more time in bribing than in labs in order to have an edge in the fierce competition. Another good case in point is that some scholars even sacrifice their integrity to plagiarize under the pressure of “publish or perish”.

Who is right? Of course both sides have their reasons. As far as I am concerned, we might as well stop the practice for the good of universities and society. Universities are a place for free academic study. Only when scholars are free to in their pursuits, can they make contribution to society.

Currently, there is a growing concern for difficulty in the mother tongue language among university students. Foreign language learning, not Chinese, has become a common occurrence on our campus. Obviously, more and more experts are beginning to be aware of the seriousness of this problem.

A number of reasons can be easily found for this. For one thing, students pay more attention to English study than Chinese training. For another thing, the companies, especially the gainful employment, focus on the candidates' foreign language skills. What's more, Chinese plays a less important role in university courses. In other words, teachers also feel unnecessary to hold further studies on Chinese. Consequently, language learners found inability in gaining English successfully, or

they may feel having difficulties in understanding in other languages.

As far as I am concerned, the correct and exact expression in Chinese ought to be the primary concern for foreign languages studies, which means Chinese, our mother tongue, is the foundation for understanding, expressing and learning other languages. Obviously, it is necessary that effective actions should be taken to prevent the above situation.

Recently it often hits headlines of newspapers that some prestigious universities like Tongji exclude Chinese from the subjects to be tested in their practice of independent admission. This has aroused heated discussion among the public -- Is Chinese not so important as English? What if we neglect the study of our mother tongue?

First of all, globalization counts much for this phenomenon. In modern society, information in most media, be it the Internet or newspaper, is conveyed in English. As a saying goes, one can go to every corner of the world without any difficulty in communicating with local people. Unfortunately, while we emphasize the importance of English, we underrate the value of Chinese though China has been developing at an amazing speed.

But neglecting the study of Chinese is extremely harmful if the situation is left unfettered. The major harm is that China’s traditional value is likely to get lost because language and ideas are interlocked in most cases. For example, when interviewed, most youngsters show that they are quite unfamiliar with some famous figures and their sayings.

To sum up, many reasons are responsible for the phenomenon and it will do us harm if we leave the situation as it is. Faced with the problem, we are expected to take effective measures. For one thing, the government should work out rules to ensure the time for the study of Chinese in school. Only in this way, can we find a cure for the problem.

There is a growing tendency nowadays for parents to send their children to register and attend a great variety of arts courses, such as dancing, calligraphy and musical instruments training, etc. The attitudes of people towards this phenomenon vary from person to person.

Some people maintain that these extra curriculums are of great necessity and benefits to students. According to a recent survey on pre-school intelligence level, the respondents who take part in out-class courses tend to perform better than those who haven’t. Moreover, the former can have an all-round development by acquiring knowledge and skills which are not taught in their schools. On the contrary, others argue that these courses would bring about heavy burdens to students and thus oppose to this practice. They worry about that students might not have adequate time to take rest and reflect on what they have learned in school.

As a university student, I have ever participated in some arts courses, such as singing and painting classes and they proved to be helpful for my hobby development. Therefore, as far as I’m concerned, taking some extra curriculum courses properly is meaningful to stude nts’ development in the long-term.

The Importance of Name

Directions: For this part, you are allowed thirty minutes to write a composition on the topic The Importance of Name. You should write at least 150 words, and base your composition on the outline (given in Chinese) below:

Do “Lucky Numbers” Really Bring Good Luck?

There are people who believe that some numbers bring good luck, while others bring bad luck. For instance, in China the number eight is thought to be lucky. Turning our attention to the West, we find that the number seven is considered lucky, but the number 13 is avoided like the plague.

In spite of all these claims, most people would agree that there is little evidence that numbers have any influence on our lives. In fact, they say, the reverse seems to be the case. For one thing, we might expect calculators to break down every time they note the number 13, and for another, although every week has seven days we know that not every week is lucky for us.

Weighing the pros and cons of these arguments, I am inclined to agree with the latter point of view. It is obvious that there is no scientific basis for the belief that there is a connection between luck and numbers.

All in all, it seems to me to be superstition.

The Importance of Name

There are individuals who believe that names are of vital importance for them. They argue that some names bring good luck, while others bring bad luck. For instance, in China the name Wangcai is thought to be lucky. Turning our attention to the West, we find that the Bill Gates is considered important, but some names are avoided like the plague.

Many times, the obligations are actually fun and fulfilling, and we want to be there. At the same time, we all sometimes experience resistance to meeting these obligations, especially when they pile up all at once and we begin to feel exhausted, longing for nothing so much as a quiet evening at home. At times like these, we may want to say no but feel too guilty at the idea of not being there. Still, our primary obligation is to take care of ourselves, and if saying no to someone else is what we have to do, then we do not need to feel bad about it. There is a skill to balancing our obligations, and it starts with simply becoming aware of our schedule. We may notice that three invitations have arisen in one weekend, and we know that we will pay energetically if we attempt to fulfill all three. At this point, we can take the time to weigh the repercussions of not going to each event, considering how we will feel if we miss it and how our absence might affect other people. Most of the time, it will be clear which obligation we can most easily let go and which one we simply can’t miss. Sometimes we have to miss something really important to us, and that can be painful for everyone concerned. At times like this, reaching out with a phone call, a thoughtful card, or a gift lets people know that you are there in spirit and that your absence is by no means a result of you not caring. Meeting our obligations to others is an important part of being human and not one to take lightly. At the same time, we cannot meet every obligation without neglecting our primary duty to take care of ourselves. We can navigate this quandary by being conscious of what we choose to do and not do and by finding concrete ways to extend our caring when we are not able to be there in person.YouTheme Recreational Activities In the era of information and technology, there are all kinds of recreational activities. Some people think those recreational activities are great and necessary, because they can help people relax from the hard work and study. Some of the activities, such as hiking, jogging, can help people relax physically; while some of them, such as surfing the Internet, can help people relax mentally. However, some people think that so many kinds of recreational activities may have a bad effect on our lives. Some people may not resist some temptations from those activities, and indulge themselves in those activities. At last they are lured away from their study or their work. In my opinion, we should pay more attention to the advantages of various recreational activities and make the most of them. Meanwhile, we should learn how to use those activities positively, and make them a helpful tool for our development. I’m very lucky to attend this world-famous university, but I’m afraid I’m not content with the canteen service on campus. Firstly, the quality of the dishes should be improved. Undoubtedly, there are a lot of delicious dishes, but all the year round, they are the same. More and more students are plaining about eating the same food each day. So I think the most urgent problem is variety. Secondly, the price is a bit too high. Many of us hope that the canteen can provide us with not only delicious but also cheaper food. Finally, the environment is so noisy that we can’t enjoy our meals in good mood. I suggest that there be some soft music to help us relax. These suggestions are not just of my own, but also of may other students. We hope our respectable president will pay attention to our suggestions.

" You can give an example or two to illustrate your point of view. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words. Would you want a doctor to operate on you who has only learned about operations from a textbook? The answer to this is obviously a resounding “No!”Knowledge gained from books must always be complemented by knowledge gained from actual experience, to be of real value。 For me actually practicing a particular action or experiment myself and experiencing the result, leaves a much deeper and lasting impression than what I get from simply reading or listening. If I read about how to write an essay or listened to someone ta lk about writing an essay, I still wouldn’t feel that I knew how to write an essay until I wrote one for myself. It is the case, however, that writing the essay would be based on the methods I learned intellectually. The same can be said for other skills, like sports, for example. A person can know all the rules of a game, associated skills and strategies, but until that person gets on a court with a ball in motion, the theory remains flat, useless。 To sum up, as to theoretical knowledge and practical skills, the latter is certainly more important. Just as British churchman Thomas Fuller put it, “Knowledge is a treasure, but practice is the key to it。” For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay commenting on Alert Einstein'sremark "I have no special talents. Daughter: You can read all about it on my blog, Dad" The impact of the Internet on interpersonal communication In contemporary society, our life is filled with a variety of anecdotes or stories, and the following is no exception: "Dad:Hi sweetie, how was school, today? Daughter: You can read all about it on my blog, Dad." Funny as it seems, this conversation can be naturally associated with the impacts of Internet on our life: In an era of Internet, the time for interpersonal communication is impaired by online chats or blogs. Unfortunately, it we let this trend to continue as it is, the interpersonal relationship will, definitely, become alienated. To my understanding, it is advisable for people to communicate more with their families, friends and acquaintances in real life instead of merely through the Internet. Do bear in mind: Internet is just a tool. Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a short essay entitled The Way to Success by commenting on Abraham Lincoln s famous remark, "Give me six hours to chop down a tree, and I will spend, the first four sharpening the axe." 2013年6月英语六级作文范文及点评

1、Good Habits Result from Refusing Temptation 2、Smile is the shortst distance between two people 3、earth provided you enought thing to satisify someone's needs but not someone's greed Good Habits Result from Refusing Temptation It is not exaggerating to say that habits determine how much a person can achieve. We should cultivate good habits and get rid of the bad habits such as staying up late, being addicted to games, consuming extravagantly, etc as soon as possible. Rome was not built in one day. We can accumulate a great fortune by the tiny efforts we made every day. From now on say good bye to the bad habits and stick to the good ones, we will enjoy a profitable return in the future. Keep Our Hearts Strong As the proverb goes, constant drops wear out the stone. Yet many people cannot resist the coziness of staying in and temptation of tasty but fatty food, thus giving up half way cultivating healthy habits and getting decreasingly robust.

People vary from one another in their purposes for acquiring certificates. Some of them hold that professional certificates are important supplement for their school work because the employer values professional competence, while the school courses lay particular stress on the imparting of knowledge. Besides, diplomas and vocational credentials can effectively enhance the competitiveness of university graduates. Professional certificates will improve the chances of employment, without a doubt. But there is no lack of people, who hold down quite a good job, taking professional certificates to enhance their self-worth.
