no side-effects are to be expected, but some patients may develop the well-known “nitrate headache” which in itself is harmless. in such instances, it is recommended that the dosage be reduced. because this nitrate effect is subject to tachyphylaxis, the isoket retard medication need not be interrupted. security for angina pectoris patients for 8-10 hours. in case of extreme severity, immediate relief can be obtained
by chewing isoket retard.

引言
随着中国对外改革开放的不断深入和发展，特别是加入wto之后，
越来越多的中国商品不断地进入世界市场，与外国的商品进行竞争。而几乎任何的商品在出口时，通常都要将中文的产品说明书翻译成
外文，方可在相应的国家或地区销售，其中绝大部分都是汉译英的
翻译。随着我国进出口贸易的不断发展，产品说明书的翻译在当今
社会上的需求将愈来愈广泛。在实践中，广大的翻译工作者进行了
大量的产品说明书的翻译实践工作；在理论上，对这一具体的科技
经贸文体的翻译现象进行研究也受到了越来越的重视。因此，本文
旨在运用描写、比较、和实例分析等文体学研究方法以及语篇翻译
理论对中文产品说明书的文体特征及其英译特点进行归纳和研究。
1. 中文产品说明书的语篇特征
产品说明书一般属于科技和经贸实用文体的一部分。科技文体由于
题材内容、使用方式和应用范围的特殊性而形成了自身在体例、用词、语用和修辞等多方面的文体特征。而在科技实用文体中，产品
说明书又是一种独特的文体。通过实例分析可以看出，说明书在文
体上既具有科技文体的一般性，又具有自身特殊性，其内容、体例、格式、句子结构等均与其它科技文体有较大的区别。
产品说明书承担着向消费者介绍产品的性能、作用、生产工艺、使
用方法等多种信息的重要作用，目的在于对产品进行全面介绍与宣传。其体例和内容由于产品的不同也会有较大的差别。如工业产品
使用说明书“一般将安全使用，工作原理、结构、技术参数、安装、
调试、操作和故障排除等部分（或选用几部分）作为并列的章节安排，形成语篇”（朱植德，2003：
58）。药品使用说明书中一般包括药品名称，成份，性状，作用类别，功能主治，用法用量，注意事项，规格，有效期，生产日期等等。食品使用说明书一般包括食品名称，配料，食用方法，保质期
和生产日期等。而家用电器说明书则“一般来说它通常由特别功能，
零件说明，操作要领，注意事项，保养方法几大部分组成。”（潘月，2003： 45）
就其句子结构特点而言，由于其内容一般均为解释、说明、规定和
建议等，所以各种说明书所使用的句子结构，与其它类型的科技论
文比较，一般相对要简短一些, 多使用简单句、陈述句、无主句和祈
使句等，少见冗长复杂的叠床架屋式的复合句，因此，它具备一般
说明性文本的语言特点，如简洁、明了、轻快等。
从词汇上来看，其特点则一般是大量使用专有名词或专业术语和缩
略词等。（朱植德，2003：58）
2. 产品说明书英译的特点
2.1专有名词或专业术语的英译
在各种各样的产品说明书里，一般都会包含大量有关的专有名词或
专业术语,比如工业产品说明书中的球轴承（ball bearing）、大圆
头螺钉（truss head screw）、数码声显（digital indicator）；化
妆品说明书中的粉底（foundation）、粉扑（powder puff）、睫毛膏（mascara）以及医药产品说明刘坚（1968─），男，湖南湘潭人，在读硕士，湖南科技大学外国语学院讲师，主要从事应用语言
学研究。
书中的单甘脂（glycery monostearafe）、十八醇、（octadocnol）、人参(ginseng)等等。根据科技术语翻译的一般原
则（如确切性，单义性，系统性，简明性，理据性，稳定性，能产
性等），（樊才云，钟含春， 2003： 57）中文产品说明书中术语的英译一般应采取直译的方法，即将中文术语照字面意思直接翻译成
相对应、对等的英文术语。当中文术语和英文对应术语的相关信息（所指、内涵、用法）都基本吻合（或无根本忤逆）时，直译法一
般具有简单明了的效果。如：电子产品中的“直流电压”和“电容器”
可分别直译为“dc voltage”和“capacitor”；医药化工产品中的“巯基乙酸”和“洁面泡沫”可分别直译为“mercptoacetic acid”和“cleaning foam”；而食用产品中的“防腐剂”和“稳定剂”则可分别直
译为“preservative”和“stabilizer”等等。
2.2 简单句、无主句和并列句的英译
中文化妆品说明书中多习惯使用简单句,而英译时则多转换为长句、
复合句。这一特点一般在说明书中的“功能”说明部分尤为突出。这
是因为“在科技英语中，为了论理准确（即所下的定义、定律、定理
要精确，所描绘的概念、叙述的生产工艺过程要清楚），往往会加
入一定修饰性、限制性的语句??有的句子甚至构成整整一个段落”。（范武邱，2001：63）但这些句子“结构长而不乱，信息分布合理，给人以一气呵成之感”。（同上，58）并且正是由于这些长句、复合
句的使用，使得英文说明书更显得条理清晰，逻辑性强。中文说明
书里的简单句、无主句和并列句在英译时多采用归化法，将其转化
为英文的长句或复合句，主要表现为定语从句、-ing结构以及并列
结构。
2.2.1 转化为定语从句
1) 可蒙新配方含丰富天然植物精华，配合维他命b5，从发根至发梢深入滋养您的发丝，令干性头发恢复弹性光泽和健康，如丝般柔顺，易于梳理。

2.2.2 转化为-ing结构

2.2.3 并列结构的转换

2.3 大量祈使句的英译
所有的“说明书都属the-d’s-and –don’ts style(‘注意事项’文体)”。（朱植德，2003：58）广泛使用祈使句是中英文产品说明书的突出
的句法特点。特别是在“使用方法”、“注意事项”或“警告”部分，几
乎句句皆是。在翻译方法上，一般采取直译法，仍然译成英语的祈
使句。
1）把2颗”aa”电池按照电池箱内所示的极性方向放入；

2) 请保存在幼儿拿不到的地方。keep out of reach of
children./keep away from children.
3) 如果出现过敏现象，请停止使用。discontinue use if signs of irritation of rash appear. 在“使用方法”或“注意事项”一栏里，何以
如此普遍地使用祈使句？这是因为文本中所叙述的，所强调的是动
作或事实本身，而不是由谁来完成某动作或事情。此外，祈使句还
有一大优势：在其使用过程中让每一位消费者都觉得就像是专门为
自己介绍的，有种亲切感，能拉近厂商与消费者之间的距离。
结语
中文产品说明书的品种种类繁多，但由于其作用和目的的基本一致性，在文体上均有许多共同之处，因此，笔者才得以总结出中文说
明书的一些文体特点及其英译词句的一些基本特征。希望这些总结
能对广大的译者提高中文产品说明书英译的速度和效率提供帮助。
但要使译文真正正确、规范、简练而又富有吸引力，还需要译者在
实践中广泛收集资料，注意积累，认真查阅；而且还要根据具体的
产品自身的特点，再三斟酌，灵活变通，方能实现通过译文“对产品
进行全面介绍与宣传”的目的。

定期检查柜内各种元器件，确认任一单元都没有松动的螺钉，所有电源和电线的连接都安全可靠；并保持外观完好。
定期吹扫柜内，清除积下的灰尘、杂物，保持柜内卫生。
定期检查控制柜内保险丝、继电器和其他可更换元件

二、安装及接线installation and wiring
2.1控制箱的安装方法installation of cabinet body
（柜内与柜外接线请查阅共同提交的接线图纸）

控制柜顶部有吊耳，用于吊装。吊装时应注意不得将柜体（特别是转角
边缘）上的烤漆磨损或有划伤。柜体应水平放置并紧固在底座上。在技术图纸中，控制柜有专门的接线图，要掌握控制柜原理以及在现场完成外部接线，都要仔细查阅相关接线图。
接线图上的每一根线都有唯一的线号，没有重复。
柜内元件与柜外设备发生联系时，都通过接线端子排转接。在接线图上，端子排横放，其上侧为柜内接线，下侧为柜外接线。在端子排两侧的线上除了线号之外还标有去向（即接至哪一个柜内元件或柜外设备），并注有文字说明。
控制柜在底部预留有进线孔，在接外部电缆时，应将电缆从柜底接入，并作标识。在全部接线完成并经调试投入运行后，应在柜底将接进电缆用防火泥封堵。

2.2调试regulation

run it through dcs or operation panel. the adjusting is to simulate real operation step by step, and inspect each working state.
