1.⑴the number of 表示“......的数量”作主语时,谓语动词用

单数。

Eg:①The number of students is about twenty.

②The number of pages in this book is 60.

⑵a number of表示“若干的,许多的”(相当于many, a lot),后接可数名词复数,如作主语谓语动词用复数。number前可用small, large等词修饰,以表示程度。

Eg:①A number of students are playing football.

②A number of students are from the South.

2. less and less“越来越少”

Eg: The water in the bowl is getting less and less.

3. in the following days

Eg:①In the following days he often came to see us.

②There will be a change in the weather in the follow days.

4.⑴not ... at all用于否定结构,加强语气,意为“一点也不”。Eg:①This question is not difficult at all.

②The box is too heavy; I can’t move it at all.

⑵not at all用于回答感谢或者道歉,意为“不用谢,不客气,没关系”。

Eg:①A:Thank you very much

B: Not at all

②A:I’m sorry, I’m late.

B: Not at all, do come in.

6. pull out拔出,拿出

一、概念:

现在进行时表示说话时正在进行或发生的动作,也可表示当前一段时间内的活动或现阶段正在进行的动作。

Eg: ① He is watching TV now. ② I am reading a book this week.

二、构成:主语+助动词be (is、am、are)+动词的现在分词

三、动词现在分词的变化规则

规则动词原形-ing形式

一般在动词原形末尾加-ing work

go

ask working going asking

以不发音e结尾的动词,去e加-ing write

take

make writing taking making

以重读闭音节结尾的动词,如果末尾只有一个辅音字母,双写这个辅音字母,再加-ing get

begin

以ie为重度闭音节结尾的动词,把ie 变为y, 再加-ing die

四、句型结构

⑴肯定句:主语+be(am、is、are)+现在分词+其他部分

Eg: ① I am reading English book.

② He is writing.

③ You are running.

④ They are eating hamburgers.

⑤ Tom is playing football right now.

⑥ We are having a picnic in the park.

⑵否定句:主语+be(am、is、are)+not+现在分词+其他部分Eg: ① I am not reading English book.

② He is not writing.

③ Tom is not listening to music now.

④ They are not sweeping the floor.

⑶一般疑问句及回答:Be(am、is、are)+主语+现在分词+其他部分

肯定回答:Yes,主语+be

回答

否定回答: No, 主语+be+not

Eg: ① Are they writing? Yes, they are. / No, they aren’t.

②Is he writing? Yes, he is. / No, he isn’t.

③Are you sing now? Yes, I am. / No, I’m not.

⑷特殊疑问句及回答:

特殊疑问句结构:特殊疑问词+一般疑问句

现在进行时的特殊疑问句结构:

特殊疑问词+be(am、is、are)+主语+现在分词+其他部分

Eg: ① What are you doing? I am doing my homework.

② What is he(she) doing? He is riding a bike.

③ What are they doing? They are dancing.

④ What is the old man doing under the tree?

The old man/He is reading a book.

⑤ Where is the boy swimming?

The boy/He is swimming in the river.

注意:不是所有的动词都能用现在进行时态,如:see、like、want、know等动词往往都不能用进行时态。

五、用法

1、表示现在或说话时正在进行的动作,常用now、at the moment 连用,有时也和look、listen、It’s …o’clock等连用。

Eg: ① Listen! Who is singing in the classroom?

②It’s 12 o’clock. Mr. Black is watching TV.

③ Look! The train is coming.

④ He is playing the piano now.

2、表示当前一段时间内的活动或现阶段正在进行的动作。

Eg: ① They are working in a factory these days.

② More and more people giving up smoking.

3、表示经常反复的动作,常与always等频度副词连用。含有赞、厌恶、不满等感情色彩。

Eg:①She is always helping others.

②He is always singing at night, and we can’t fall asleep late at night.

③You are always changing your mind.

4、现在进行时有时可以代替将来时,用来表示最近安排或计划要进行的动作,一般与表示将来的时间状语连用。这种用法仅限于少量动词。如:go, come, arrive, leave, return, stay等。

Eg: ① Tom is coming tomorrow evening.

② Is your father leaving for Hong Kong next month?

③ He’s arriving tomorrow morning.
