Do you speak English? Yes? Well, do you speak mail English? Maybe not. E-mail English is a new kind of English that many people use to save time. A lot of e-mail English words come from a computer program called ICQ. It means I see you. ICQ is an mail chatline that people use to send messages quickly, Ian Lancashire, a Canadian teacher, likes ICQ. “People can use ICQ to talk with each other with computers."

A message in e-mail English mostly uses two kinds of new words. The first kind is made up of the first letters of other words. These are called acronyms(首字母组合词). The second kind is homophones(同音异义词).

Acronyms in an mail save space and time. It takes a long time to write by the way, BTW is much faster. F2F stands for face to face, CSL for can't stop laughing and DBEYR for don't believe everything you read!

For most kids , homework is just part of their daily lives , but have you ever imagined that one day you won't need to do any homework at all? Such a thing has just happened in a school in the UK.

Nottingham East Academy, a school in the UK, has established a non-homework policy(政策)recently. The school plans to give an extra lesson and provide more activities for students to do at school.
