Unit 4 Making the news

Period 1 Warming up and reading

Learning aims:

Enable the Ss to recognize the variety of jobs there are in newspapers and what

is needed to work in a newspaper office.

Enable the Ss to know what is needed to become a reporter and how to conduct

an interview.

Language aim:

Teaching aims: To help students learn to use Grammar (倒装句)

Important&Difficult Points:1.定义:在英语中,主语和谓语的语序通常是主语在

前,谓语在后。但有时谓语的全部或者一部分(通常是助动词或情态动词)却

提到主语的前面,这种语序叫做“倒装”。

2.对部分倒装句型的判断。

Seldom does he go to see his parents. 他很少去看望他父母。

Under no condition will I give up.无论任何我都不会放弃的。

Hardly/ Scarcely had he reached home when it began to rain heavily. 他一到家天就下起大雨来。

2. 对全部倒装句型的判断:

某些表示时间或地点的副词here/there/now/ then; 表示方向性的副词in, out, up, down, away, off;表示地点的介词短语at the foot of, in front of, to the

句型以及east of等放在句首均使用全部倒装句型。此外,表示存在的“There be”

为了强调表语而将其提前的“表语+be +主语”的结构也属于完全倒装之列。例如:There goes the bell. 铃响了。

In front of the house stands a tall tree. 门前有一棵大树。

注意: 全部倒装句型的谓语动词应是不及物动词,常见的有: be,come,go,follow,stand,lie,sit,fly,flow,exist,live等。
