To be honest, I have lots of ambitions. And I'm going to talk about one of them, which is winning the first prize in a table tennis match. You know, winning a prize is always exciting and the winners are adored(受喜爱) by people. Honestly, I didn’t take part in lots of competitions. But I really want to win that one.

Table Tennis is one of the most exciting sports in the world. Besides, the players are admired and respected by people. You know, I’m from China, its national sport is table tennis. Lots of students can play it well. So can I (我也能).

Table tennis is played on a table and the rules are similar to tennis. Usually, two types of matches are played on table tennis – single match, team match. In a single match, usually, there is one opponent(对手) in each of the sides while the opponents become two in the team match. All of the teams or players try to hit the ball.

Winning a table tennis match is difficult indeed. I have to struggle a lot for winning the matches. I usually practice the match solo though one of my friends wants to team up with(组队) me. But I declined(拒绝) him as I am not a good team player(有团队精神的人). In order to win it, I practice different techniques for hours everyday. Usually making the balls to swing is one of the difficult ways in table tennis and if someone could master it, playing and especially defeating becomes easier. So, I practise the specific way at my home with my sister. Moreover, I sometimes play table tennis with some of my friends who come to visit me at my home. Besides, dad also likes to play table tennis. So, I have lots of practice with him as well.

I will try my best to play. If I win the first prize, I will be overwhelmed with joy and excitement(陷入喜悦和激动). It’ll be a proof(证明) of my ability. I will definitely feel a sense of achievement.

Part3:

●What kinds of ambitions do people have?

Well, it really depends. I mean, for students, they may have the ambition to achieve something greater, like better academic performance, going to a top university, studying abroad in the future. For adults, they may have the ambition to create their own businesses. For older people, they have the ambition to live a longer life.

●Why should parents encourage children to have ambitions?

Yeah, definitely, it’s very essential for children to have ambitions or goals. Because in this way, they know what they want to strive for(奋斗). They have a purpose to live their lives. Also, ambitions will act as(作为) an incentive(激励) to improve themselves and give them much motivation to make progress.

●Should parents interfere with children’s ambitions?

Well, from my perspective, parents should not interfere with their children’s ambitions. Children must be self-sufficient (自立的) so they must learn from their choices or mistakes. Moreover, this is children’s life, they should lead it the way the want. Therefore, parents shouldn’t be a hurdle (障碍) to their children’s ambition.

●Is there any difference between children’s ambitions and those of

grown-ups?

Without any doubt, there are huge differences between children’s ambitions and those of grown-ups. Children are very innocent(天真无邪的), their ambitions may be having something they really want, like toys. While for adults, they want to achieve goals like getting a job promotion or earning more money.

Honestly, there are so many traditions in my country. We have different traditions for various festivals, like dragon-boat festival(端午节), Mid-autumn festival, spring festival, etc. It’s tricky to decide which one to talk about. Maybe I can describe the tradition for the most important event in my country, which is the Spring festival.

Spring festival is the most valued(被重视的) traditional festival for Chinese people. It’s also known as Chinese New Year. It’s the time for family reunion(家庭团聚). By the way, Spring Festival usually takes place in January. It’s celebrated by every Chinese household(家庭), no matter where they are.

Now I want to introduce some traditions during Spring festival. For Spring festival dinner, dumplings are a must-have(必有的) item. Sometimes the whole family will sit together, making dumplings from scratch(从头开始). You know, dumplings are made

from dumpling skin and fillings(馅料). The filling are made of meat and vegetables. Traditionally, we would put a coin in one of the dumplings, the one who gets that dumpling is believed to have good luck in the next year.

Another tradition is that children greet their parents and grandparents and other relative and they will receive red packets(红包). When they get red packets, you’ll see smiling faces on them. Also, we celebrate Chinese New Year by setting firecrackers (放烟花) and watching Spring Festival Gala(春节晚会) together. The next day, we will visit our neighbors and relatives to send our best wishes to them.

So, these are the traditions that we have for Spring Festival.

Part3:

●How do people value traditional festival?

people value their traditional festivals by celebrating them with their family. For example, they eat mooncakes and enjoy the moon at night on mid-autumn festival. They watch boat races (船赛) on dragon boat festival.

●What’s the difference between festivals now and those in the past?

I think the main difference between festivals now and in the past is the purpose of celebration.

People celebrated festivals for a purpose, but now people have forgotten the meaning and story behind the festivals.Festivals are only celebrated for joy and entertainment.

●Do you think western festivals like Christmas are replacing traditional

festivals in your country?

Yes, I’m afraid not. Nowadays, not only in China, but in some other countries like Japan, Thailand, Singapore, people love to celebrate Christmas. When Christmas comes, people will decorate trees and send gifts. They regard Christmas as(把...当做) their own festival. But they still value their own traditions. So I don’t think Christmas are replacing traditional festivals.

●Do you think it’s wrong for children not to celebrate traditional festivals? Well, it seems that children nowadays show less interests in their traditions. As I see it (依我看来), children shouldn’t forget their own traditional festivals. It’s a part of their culture and who they are. They should learn the meaning and stories behind the festivals. It’s a great way to pass on (传递) their traditions.

Well, it’s a little bit tricky to decide which one to talk about because I like lots of photographs of me. Maybe I can describe the one that I took during my journey in Chengdu. It always reminds me of some great memories there.

It’s actually a photograph of me and a lovely panda. I just can’t remember precisely(准确地) when it was because, you know, I have a terrible memory for dates. But it was almost 5 years ago when I was travelling around Chengdu, a major city of western China. I was on my summer vacation, and my parents decided to take me to Chengdu. You know, Chengdu is such a popular tourist destination (旅游目的地), which attracts millions of visitors every year. The most fascinating(吸引人的) part about Chengdu is the pandas because there is a panda base there, where you can see a lot of adorable giant pandas.

The panda base is located in the outskirts of(郊区) the city, which is around 25 minutes’ away from the city center. We went there in the morning because pandas were fed in the morning and were active at that time. It was so clamorous(喧闹的).

And we waited in line for 20 minutes to buy a ticket. I still felt so thrilled(激动的) to see real pandas in the flesh(亲眼;亲自). They looked super cute and cuddly(令人想抱的;惹人喜爱的). Some pandas were gorging on(狼吞虎咽的吃) bamboos, which were their favorite food. Some were climbing trees. And a few of them were crawling and prowling around(徘徊). As one of the pandas came closer to me, my mom immediately took a photo to capture that moment. Surprisingly, in that picture, the panda and I were both looking at the camera. It was perfect!

Part3:

●Why do people take photos?

People take photos simply because they wanna capture(捕获) some great memories or record their life. They may take photos of food, gorgeous scenery and people. Or they just want to share them on social media to keep their fans updated(更新).

●What do people use to take photos these days, cameras pr phones?

I think most people use their phones to take photos these days, because phone cameras are very functional(多功能的), more importantly, it’s light and portable(便携的). But for professional photographer, they’re definitely keen on(热衷于) using cameras, which have higher pixels and definition(高像素和清晰度).

●Is it difficult for people to learn how to take good photos?

I don’t think it’s difficult for people to learn how to take good photos. Nowadays, there are lots of videos teaching people how to take good photos. Something like the suitable angle or position or lighting(光线). If people want to take good photos, they

can just follow those tips and try several times.

●How do people keep their photos?

Well, I believe most people keep their photos on their phones or electronic albums(电子相册) on the computer. It’s really convenient when they want to see and share their photos.

Winning a prize is always exciting and the winners are adored(受喜爱). Honestly, I didn’t take part in lots of competitions. But I can share with you the time that I won a prize in the annual(年度的) sports competition of my college. I won the second prize in the table tennis match.

Tennis is one of the most exciting sports in the world. Besides, the players are admired and respected by people. You know, I’m from China, its national sport is table tennis. Lots of students can play it well. So can I (我也能).

Table tennis is played on a table and the rules are similar to tennis. Usually, two types of matches are played on table tennis – single match, team match. believe that I did so well in the matches. I was overwhelmed with joy and excitement(陷入喜悦和激动). I shared my achievement with my family members. I felt a sense of proud (自豪感) and achievement.

Part3:

●What kind of prizes do students get?

Well, generally, students take part in academic competitions, competitions of sports and singing. They may get prizes that are inexpensive, like stationery(文具), schoolbags, medals, or prize money(奖金), maybe 100 or 200 yuan.

●Should student get the same prize in sports and academics?

Well, that’s a very interesting question. I don’t think they should get the same prize. Because academics and sports are two different fields. Students can get sportswear, medals or something related to sports in a sporting event. While for academic prizes, students should get books, stationery, which can be more useful and meaningful(有意义的) for them.

●Why should people be awarded?

I believe it’s essential for people to be awarded. For example, some singers are awarded the Grammy awards, students are awarded for their excellent performance(优秀表现) at school. And workers get prizes for doing a great job. To some extent(某种程度上), awards are the proof(证明) of their ability and achievements, which may motivate(激励) them and help them become better.

●Are awards always good for winner?

It’s true that winners receive better awards. But sometimes those who lose may also receive some awards for their hardwork and efforts, which can encourage them to improve themselves and make more progress.

Science is very important to our lives. Actually, it’s through the science subjects that we begin to think logically and find answers to our questions. When I was in middle school and high school, I had to learn all kinds of science subjects, like math, physics biology, chemistry and so on. I found all the aspects of science difficult but interesting. Speaking of the area of science interests me the most, I would like to talk about

chemistry.

I started to learn chemistry since grade 8. I became fascinated by it since the first class. Though I just learned some basic part of chemistry at the high school level, it was a really eye-opener(令人大开眼界的事物) because it gave me a better understanding of the natural world by teaching me about the periodic table(元素周期表), the mole concept, types of chemical reactions(反应), etc.

Chemistry is very difficult to learn, but it also tells me about chemicals and their interactions and it can help you to understand the world around you, since everything is comprised of(由...组成) chemicals. Cooking, for instance, includes chemical reactions to achieve different types of cooked foods. Baking is a another example of this type, as it often employs(运用) ingredients like baking soda that react with acids in the recipe and help the cake or cookies to rise when heated. This process is a chemical reaction.

Additionally, taking a chemistry class will allow you to better understand other sciences, like biology or anatomy. Besides, chemistry allows me to stay in the lab to take lots of different engaging(有趣的) experiments, such as making smoke bombs. I believe that experimenting is best part of taking a chemistry class.

Part3:

●What’s the best invention in the past 100 years?

Over the past 100 years, there were numerous invention that have considerably changes people’s lives, such as electricity(电力), light bulbs, the Internet, etc. But I believe the best one is the Internet. Thanks to the Internet, we can chat with friends no matter where they are, we can do shopping online, read and watch movies and play games. The world in at our fingertips(在我们的指尖).

●What’s the influence of science on human life?

I think there are two main influences of science. First, science brings logic and reasoning to human life. It reduces the impact of superstition(迷信) and makes us more open-minded and accepting of others. Second, science and inventions have made our life much more comfortable and easier than ever before.

●What can individuals do for scientific research?

I think most science inventions happen accidentally(偶然地). Individuals may meet doubts and problems and they come up with an idea to address(解决) that problem. That is how new inventions take place. Individuals can also donate money to the scientific organizations to fund scientific research.

●What influence can international cooperation in science bring about?

(回答一) There main challenges to scientific research is the lack of funding and lack of

access to information and great ideas. International cooperation can address both of them. If countries share funds and their knowledge, scientific research would definitely have a boost(增加).

(回答二) I believe cooperation between nations in science will bring about more advances(进步) in technologies. They can share their ideas and newest technologies to create something much better, which can benefit the world.

Well, there are many activities that I do throughout the year(全年). And to be honest, I hardly do some activities that are too expensive. After all, I can’t afford them. But speaking of an expensive activity that I enjoy doing occasionally, I would like to describe Bungee Jumping(蹦极), which, I think, is more expensive than other activities.

Bungee jumping is a kind of extreme sports(极限运动). You know, people jump from a great height while connected to large cord(绳索). It seems dangerous and terrifying(令人恐惧的) but exciting at the same time. Of course, those who have high blood pressure(高血压) are not allowed to do it.

I did bungee jumping in Macao, actually. I can’t remember the exact time and date, you know, I have a terrible memory for dates. But it was almost 2 years ago when I was travelling around(在..旅游) Macao. I went there with my friends and we stayed there for a whole week.

One of the most popular activities is doing bungee jumping from the Macao Tower, which is more than 300 meters tall. It’s quite expensive for me and my friends. Because it cost more than 3000 yuan. Before we went there, we made a reservation(预订)in advance(提前). And we waited in line(排队等) for about 1 hour. When it was my turn轮到我的时候), I felt so terrified looking at the ground from such a great height. I could feel the tension(紧张) in my heart. My hands and feet were sweating(流汗) and shaking. I almost wanted to give up. But the instructor kept encouraging me and eventually, I jumped. It was a feeling that was hard to express. Anyway, it was a great challenge for me and I could overcome the fear(克服恐惧).

After doing that, I felt a sense of achievement.

Anyway, that was a really memorable experience. If I have chance in the future, I wanna do it again. Haha...

Part3:

●What kind of expensive things do people like to buy?

I think it varies from person to person(每个人都不同), but generally speaking, men prefer buying expensive watches or cars. While women are more keen on cosmetics, fancy clothes, luxury bags(奢侈品包包), etc.

●What the difference between men and women in buying things?

I think there are some major differences. Men tend to rush into the store, get what they need and leave straight away(立马;马上). They seem to be immune to(对...免疫) various sales and promotions. They are more into cars, electronic products. However, women are more likely to be shopaholics(购物狂). They enjoy spending more time in shopping malls and sometimes they buy things on impulse (冲动). They are normally addicted to(着迷于) fancy clothes and cosmetics.

●What are advantages and disadvantages of being rich?

I think the biggest advantage of being rich is that you can buy whatever you like and do whatever you want. Especially if you want to do some start-ups, you have sufficient funds to support yourself. In terms of the disadvantages, I suppose rich people have more worries and anxieties, and others want something out of them.

●Why are some sports expensive? Are they for everyone?

It’s true that some sports can be a lot more expensive, like golf, yacht(游艇), it’s quite pricey to get a membership(会员). I guess there are expensive because the equipments cost more, and the court or the field require higher maintenance(高维护). They are definitely not for everyone, They’re just for rich people or people with a higher social status(社会地位).

Actually, I like to talk about a wide range of各种各样的topics with my friends. And I also like to meet new people and have a conversation with them. However, there are certain topics that I have no interest in. Recently, my least favorite topic(最不喜欢的话题) is about the COVID-19. I just get really bored hearing my friends discussing this

issue.

I still remember that the last time that I was involved in (参与) this topic was just a few weeks ago. Actually, it was my bosom friend(亲密的朋友) Tom’s birthday and he invited me to his birthday party.

I went to his home to celebrate along with(和...一起) his family and some other good friends. In the first place(起初), I enjoyed a lot at his birthday party, we ate a cake, we sang together. But after a while, their relatives started to have a conversation with us.

The topic on which they were discussing was COVID-19 lockdown (封锁).They were sharing their views on the impact of lockdown on people’s daily lives.

They seemed to have a really long speech. There is not doubt(毫无疑问) that this conversation has its importance. But I was really bored with the conversation because in China, people have been talking about it forever since the outbreak(爆发). Everyday, I saw tons of news about it. I heard my friends, my family talk about it. I even did a survey about it. I was not interested at all in their opinions. So I was really fed up(厌倦).

My friend’s birthday party was a break for me, it was supposed to be relaxing. I thought it would be rude if I just walk away in between that conversation since all the members were senior citizens(年长者) except me.After 2 hours, the conversation was finally over. I went back home right away.

So, this was the topic of conversation that I was not interested in.

Part3:

●What topics do young people in China talk about?

Young people talk about a wide variety of(各种各样的) topics. They nearly talk about everything vary from politics to sports to entertainment and technologies. Personally, I love to talk about the latest news(最新的消息) and high-tech gadgets(高科技设备) with my friends.

●What’s the difference between the topics popular now and those in the

past?

I think earlier people didn’t care so much about technology, but it is a major part of the conversation now. I also love talking about that. In addition, I think other topics like sports, fashion and politics were actively discussed in the past too.

●How do you know if others are not interested in our conversation?

I think I mostly see people’s facial expressions or reactions to see if they are interested. If they are laughing at my jokes or their reactions change as the tone of the conversation progresses(进行), they are interested. Otherwise, they are not. Sometimes if people cut me off and change a different topic, he or she is certainly not interested in my conversation.

●What’s the influence of modern technology, such as the internet and

e-mails, on our communication?

Obviously, modern technologies have both positive and negative impacts on our communication. On one hand, they make it easier for people to communicate. No matter where we are, we can always keep in touch with our friends and family.

One the other hand, the overuse(过度使用) of technologies has negative impacts on people’s interpersonal communication or face-to-face communication. We may find it hard to involve in(参与) social life. Sometimes people have difficulty expressing their ideas or thoughts face-to-face. And people addicted to the internet feel lonely and isolated (孤立的).

Actually, I often receive some good news. So it’s a little tricky to decide which one to talk about. Maybe I can share with you the time I received a really good news about the prize that I won. So I’m gonna share with you particular experience.

But I still remember the time I participated in the school annual sports competition. And I won the second prize in the table tennis match, which was a really great news for me.

When I participated in the matches, I did not think about the results. Instead, I tried to play my best and I did so. In the end, my classmates told me that I won the second prize. I could not believe that. I was overwhelmed with joy and excitement(陷入喜悦和激动).

Part3:

●How do people get news?

People get news through various sources, such as TV, the Internet, newspapers and radio. But I think nowadays the most popular way to get news is from the Internet, people can watch the latest news(最新消息) and information just on their phone.

●What do you think of the news on social media?

Social media such as Facebook and Wechat and Twitter have become very powerful. There are all kinds of news everyday. Some of them are true, while others may be fake. So we should be able to tell good from bad(分辨好坏).

●What kind of news do people like to read?

I think it depends on difference age groups. Young people prefer reading news about sports and entertainment. They want to know more about their favorite teams or TV stars. However, older people are more into political news or news about the weather.

●How can companies tell the public its news? On the internet or through press

conference?

They can actually disseminate(散布;传播) their news through both ways. But I believe the mainstream way(主流方式) these days is though the internet. Because most people are internet users, they prefer reading news on their mobile phones. So news companies have more target readers(目标读者)online.

Sample:

Honestly, reading books is something that I enjoy immensely(非常喜欢). The books that I read vary from history books, novels to biographies. I love to learn new things from every book. However, speaking a very useful book, I’d like to describe a cookery book(烹饪书).

That book is written by a very famous Chinese master chef(厨艺大师). I can’t remember exactly when I first read it. It was so many months back. It was a regular Saturday, I was reading books in the city library, which is located in downtown. It’s the largest library in my city as well. I just stumbled upon(偶然看到) that cookery book on the bookshelf. The cover it is a beautiful and charming woman cooking a dish. The food looked quite appetizing(有食欲的), which intrigued(激发兴趣) me a lot.

After reading through a few pages, I found it very useful to me. There are a couple of reasons. Firstly, I’m a big fan of c ooking, I love trying different dishes. Also, I often invite my friends over and cook a fancy meal for them. It’s a great way to entertain (招待) friends, of course. Actually, later, I bought that book and took it home.

I started to duplicate(复制) some of the recipes on that book. And it turned out to be a huge success, the flavor was sensational. I was so flattered because my friends loved the food that I made so much. I definitely felt a sense of proud.

Now that book is still in my home. It’s very useful because on one hand, it provides lots of great recipes(食谱) with so many details, like how to deal with the ingredient, how to use spices, and it also shows different cooking skills. I’ve found a lot of inspirations(灵感) for cooking through reading this book

Part3:

●What are the types of books that young people like to read?

I think young people like to all kinds of novels, like romantic novel, mysteries and science fictions. Because these books are really intriguing(吸引人的) and very imaginative(充满想象的).

●What’s the difference between reading habits of young people and old people?

I believe the major difference is that young people have a tendency to(倾向于) read online books, they usually read books on a Kindle or just on their phones, it’s convenient, they can read it anywhere. While old people seem to be less interested in technologies, they prefer the traditional way, which is reading paper books.

●What’s the difference between paper books and E-books?

Obviously, there are huge differences between them. Firstly, E-books are more convenient

and portable. For example, you can store numerous(无数的) books in it and carry it everywhere, like on the subway, bus or even on the airplane. And you can read it anywhere at anytime. While paper books are just so heavy and not portable(便携的) at all. Another reason is that E-books are much cheaper and more affordable than paper books. More importantly, E-books are much more environmental-friendly.

Well, it is quite evident that lots of people want to visit developed nations due to (由于) work or study. And I would like to talk about a country named Australia where I would like to go and work a part-time job.

Australia is a developed nation. Many people go there for study and work. There are quite a few renowned universities, lots of job opportunities.I am planning to go there for my further study. I would like to work there.

.

I have heard that students can work part time while studying over there. One of my friends went to study in Australia for his Business Management course. He told me a lot about the education system there. He is working part time in a pizza outlet. He gets 10 Canadian dollars an hour. He can work 20 hours per week but he can be flexible with the number of working hours.

So he works 5 hours on Saturday and 5 on Sunday and two hours per day on weekdays.

In this way, his study is not disturbed.

So, if I study there, I would like to find a part-time job in a restaurant as a

waiter(waitress). It’s a very easy but demanding and tiring job. It’s a job that requires lots of patience. Sometimes, you have to deal with some mean(刻薄刁钻的) customers. But, hopefully, I can get more tips from customers.

Besides, I think it would be a very good way to learn about the culture and to meet new people and make new friends. I believe that’s gonna be a really rewarding (有回报的) experience.

Part3:

●Is it good for young people to have the experience of living in other countries? Well, I think so. It’s beneficial for young people to live in other countries. Because in this way, they can know more about the culture and customs. They may meet people

from diverse cultural backgrounds. Another benefit is that they can actually cultivate their independence(培养独立).

●Why are some people unwilling to work in other countries?

Obviously, some people are reluctant to(不愿意) work in foreign countries. I guess some major reasons. On one hand, there may be some cultural shocks(文化冲击). If they don’t understand the local culture and the working style, conflicts may occur. Another reason is perhaps language barrier(语言隔阂), if you can’t communicate with others fluently, misunderstandings(误解) might happen.

●What kind of work can young people do in foreign countries?

Honestly, I’m not sure. But I suppose young people can do some less demanding jobs in foreign countries. Like waiters or waitresses in restaurants or hotels. And they can also work as a language teacher teaching their mother languages in foreign countries.

●What’s the difference between working in a international company and working in

a domestic one?

In my opinion, there are several major differences between them. First of all, working in a international company requires better language skills, because you will meet and do business with people from different countries. Another difference is that you can learn more about the working modes and ideas of other countries, while you can’t possibly learn these in domestic ones.

Well, I have to say it’s quite tricky to talk about it because I don’t watch movies as often as I used to. But I do remember well a comedy that I watched, so I guess I have to talk about that particular movie.

The name of that film is 大话西游or Journey to the West. I can’t remember the exact time and date because I have a terrible memory for dates. You know, it was 10 years ago when I was a middle school student. It’s actually a very classic Hongkong film, which is directed by a very renowned(有名的) Chinese director. It received tons of great reviews, which made me want to watch it as well. And then I watched the movie trailer(预告片) online, which was very intriguing(引人入胜的). And the protagonists(主演) are my favorite actors as well. When we were watching it, we couldn’t help(情不自禁) laughing out loud from time to time.

I don’t have sufficient(足够的) time to tell you the whole plot. But basically, it’s

about_________(电影梗概4-5句话).(比如love between a young couple. The boy

was obsessed with(迷恋) the girl. The girl had been indifferent to him and turned him down(拒绝了他). But the boy still did a lot of things for the girl. In the end, the boy died in a fight in order to protect the girl. And the girl was crying with grief.)

The film is so hilarious but incredibly thought-provoking(让人深思). It made me realize that it’s important to _______(一种感悟或者道理).(比如: cherish and care about those who love us and who we love.) What’s more, the set design (场景设计) is stunning and the story is engaging (吸引人的). That’s why I love this movie so much.

Part3:

●Do people like comedy?

Yeah, absolutely, people love watching comedies. Because comedies are funny and hilarious, which bring people lots of joy and laughter. Nowadays, people are under much pressure, so they watch comedies to alleviate their stress(减少压力) and relax.

●Why do people of all ages like cartoons?

Of course not. I believe grown-ups and the elderly are not into cartoons. They think they are boring and childish. Children prefer watching cartoons, because it’s easier for them to understand and more interesting.

●Why do some people like to make others laugh?

Some people like making others laugh because they are humorous. Sometimes people make others laugh because they want to eliminate(消除) some tensions. I mean, when you argue with your friends or when your friends feel sad, a good joke can always cheer them up.

●Should teachers tell jokes in class?

Well, as I see it, teachers should crack some jokes(讲笑话) in class. Because I think classes shouldn’t be too serious, sometimes a joke can create a better and relaxing learning environment, which can make the class more lively and more interesting.

Well, I have to say it’s quite tricky to talk about it because I don’t watch movies as often as I used to. But I do remember the last film I watched, so I guess I have to talk about that particular movie.

I can’t remember the exact time and date because I have a terrible memory for dates. You know, it was a couple of weeks ago so it’s a relatively recent film. And it is a Chinese film,by the way, but the name escapes me(我不记不起名字了). It’s directed by a very renowned(有名的) Chinese director. When it first came out, it received tons of great reviews, which made me want to watch it as well. And then I watched the movie trailer(预告片) online, which was very intriguing(引人入胜的). And the protagonists(主演) are my favorite actors as well. So, I asked one of my friends to come to the movie theater with me on a weekend. By the way, we watched it in the evening, and the movie theater is located in downtown.

So the movie is actually a _____(电影类型) movie(或者it’s hard for me to categorize(分类) the genre of the movie.) I don’t have sufficient(足够的) time to tell you the whole plot. But basically, it’s about_________(电影梗概4-5句话).(比如love between a young couple. The boy was obsessed with(迷恋) the girl. The girl had been indifferent to him and turned him down(拒绝了他). But the boy still did a lot of things for the girl. In the end, the boy died in a fight in order to protect the girl. And the girl was crying with grief.

The film is incredibly thought-provoking(让人深思). It’s rare for a film to have such as profound effect(深刻的影响) on me. It made me realize that it’s important to

_______(一种感悟或者道理).(比如: cherish and care about those who love us and who we love.) What’s more, the set design (场景设计) is stunning and the story is engaging (吸引人的). That’s why I love this movie so much.

Part3:

●What do you think makes a good film?

I believe a good film should contain some creative elements and unexpected plots. Like these Hollywood blockbusters always make people feel excited. Besides, I also think a good film has to be visually appealing. Like the set design(场景设计) has to be fascinating, there should be some special effects that can draw the audience attention(吸引观众的注意力).

●Is film industry important for a country?

I believe film industry is important for a country. You know, it’s actually a reflection of our culture. People can learn about a country’s culture and customs by watching movies of that country. On the other hand, films can also be useful because they give the viewers an insight(见解) into what life is like in different parts of the world.

●What kinds of films are popular in China?

Well, I’m not quite sure, to be perfect honest. But I guess action movies and comedies are pretty popular in China. They are always among the best-rated(评价最好的) movies. Actions provide a sense of excitement, while comedies make people laugh, which add spice to their life(给生活增添乐趣) and help to relieve pressure(减少压力) as well.

●Why are special effects used in some movies?

Special effects are widely used in various movies, because they can excite and engage(吸引) viewers. For example, in the Star war Series Movies, a great number of stunts(特效) are used, like outer space, other planets, monsters, aliens and so on, which make the movie more intriguing(有趣的).

Well, I believe everyone has to make decisions every now and then(时常). Maybe some decisions are very trivial(琐碎的), like what to eat for dinner, what to wear for today, what to do on weekends and things like that. However, we also have to make some critical decisions at times(有时候). Speaking of a good decision I made recently, I’d like to talk about the decision I made for my sister. So I’m gonna share with you that particular experience.

I just can’t remember the precise time and date, but it was several months back. My sister just finished high school and passed the college entrance examination. That was a very crucial turning point(重要的转折点) of her life. She had to be really meticulous(谨慎的) about choosing her major in college, which may affect her future.

At first, she struggled a lot choosing which major she should study because there were loads of(许多) them. A lot of factors had to be taken into account(考虑进来). She had no clue(不知道) which one fitted me the most.

Then, she decided to ask me for some advice. I asked her about her personal preference and the field that she was interested in. Eventually, I advised her to study English since she was a big fan of speaking English. And it would be easier for her to find a job in the future. She could be an English teacher, an English interpreter or do business with foreign companies. She would be more competitive as well. So I gave her a few constructive(有建设性的) suggestions. And after serious consideration, she decided to follow my advice.

Now she quite enjoys what she’s learning right now at college and she felt really thankful to me as well.

Part3:

●What decisions do people make everyday?

I think everyone has to make decisions from time to time. They have to make some trivial(琐碎的) decisions on a daily basis (每天). For example, they may have to choose clothes they wear for the day, they may decide what to eat for lunch and dinner.

●Why do people make decisions?

Decisions give us a feeling that we are the masters of our fate (命运的主人) . No one else can control our fate. Decisions also give direction to our life. Every decision has a consequence (后果) and it takes our life in a certain direction.

●Can children make decisions on their own?

I don’t think children can make decisions for themselves. They are just too young, they don’t have much decision-making experience. They don’t take many factors into account (把...考虑进来) when making decisions.

●When do people change their decision?

I think changing a decision is all about our conscience(意识). When we get that feeling inside that we have made a mistake or we are doing the wrong thing, we try and change our decision. And if we don’t change our decision, we always feel guilty(愧疚) about doing the wrong thing.

Honestly, I hardly read poems. But I’m a huge fan of music. And I remember a lot of lines from different songs that I’ve heard. Maybe I can share with you a few lines from one of my favorite band called the Beatles.

The Beatles is a household name, which is actually an English Band. It’s perhaps the most iconic and classic band ever. It was founded in the 1960s, I suppose. And there used to 4 members. But now only one of them is still alive. Their music style is mainly rock and roll.

I still remember it was about 15 years a ago that I first heard about the band. I was a middle school student, by the way. And actually it was through the music that I began to know them and like them. One day my friend was playing one of their songs on the phone, and I just became mesmerized (着迷的) immediately after listening to it. That song was none other than(正是) “ Hey, Jude”. It was the first and the most impressive

English song I heard. And the lyrics are still embedded(牢牢的嵌入) in my mind.

And I want to share with you a few lines, “ Hey, jude, don’t make it bad, take a sad song and make it better. Remember to let her under your skin then you’ll begin to make it better.”

I love these lines because I think they’re so inspiring (鼓舞人的) and encouraging(振奋人心的). Whenever I feel down (失落) and frustrated, it always cheers me up (使我振作) and gives me support. And I feel these words are just so powerful.

Part3:

●Are you good memorizing things?

To be honest, I’m not good at memorizing things. For example, I can’t even remember my friends phone numbers. I can’t memorizing lots of English words precisely. When I was at school, it often took me a long time to remember some poems or notes.

●Do you think children would like the rhythm of songs or poems? Why? Well, I think would like the rhythm of songs. Because it’s easier for them to remember, the melody of songs may sound more interesting and acceptable. Poems are just too difficult and boring for them.

●Do you think it’s easier for children to learn a song or poem than

adults?Why?

I think, yes, it’s easier for children to learn a song or poem. I suppose their brains are more receptive, they are better at (更擅长于) memorizing things. I remember in my childhood, I used to memorize many poems, and I did it very easily. I don’t think I can do the same now.

●What can people learn from songs or poems?

People can actually learn about culture and history through reading poems. And also reading poems improves their writing skills. Besides, through listening to songs, people can learn how to sing it. They can even learn a new language if they listen to songs in a foreign language.

Sample:

Well, it’s a good topic for me because I’ve played lots of indoor games with my friend when I was a child. But I wanna share with you my favorite indoor game, which

You see, because of different culture background in China, not all the birthdays are celebrated. The birthdays which are celebrated big are “when the child is 30 days” in Chinese we call it Manyue (meaning full month), then it is the 100day celebration known as 100Tian, and then is the first birthday, 10th birthday, 15th birthday, 18th birthday and so on. Anyway, I remember on my 18th birthday, which was the birthday I celebrate 3 years ago, my parents arranged a banquet and invited most of the relatives and friends; it’s a big party and more than 100 guests arrived. In the morning my parents gave me my presents, a laptop and a new mobile phone, later I got busy with them until it was time to cut the cake. At the restaurant, we had a wonderful banquet and I received lot of Hongbaos, you see, on big celebration in China people usually put some money inside of a red colour envelop and give it to the person celebrating his birthday or wedding, it’s considered to fortune in the future.

事物/物品篇 Sample: To be honest, I have lots of ambitions. 雅思口语话题:介绍一种流行音乐 Describe a type of music that is popular in your country. You should say: what type of music it is where people listen to (or,can hear)it on what occasions people hear this music what types of people usually like this type of music and explain why it is popular. Actually I am not a big fan of music. I hope that I can properly define the correct type of music that is popular in China. Generally speaking, rock music is going over big in my country。Although it originate in western countries, with the development of globalization, the rock music was introduced to China. It has been really welcomed among the young https://www.sodocs.net/doc/1d15065307.html,ually during parties, such as campus party, friend reunion, young people tend to indulge themselves with the rock music. Two main reasons are contributed to the popularity of the rock music in my country. The first point is that the rock music has amazing beats, awesome melody, deep lyrics ['lirik] and meaning. It concerns about love, family, friendship, and it can be moving optimistic as well as cheerful. It can hit a true emotional level. Rock music is more than just compositions ,it is a way of living,it is a lifelong inspiration. It helps young people release stresses from work or study. It connects people in an emotional way. It reflects the way people approach life. The second point is the rock music is catering to the character of the young people. You know, young people are quite energetic and ebullient, while the rock music is usually associated with fast tempo, strong beat and some aggressive expression. Under the rock music, the young people can better express themselves and obtain resonance 。
