2.My daughter, Jane, never dreamed of receiving a letter from a girl of her own age in Holland.

( cf. 第 20课语法)receive… from…

https://www.sodocs.net/doc/6717727452.html,st year, we were travelling across the Channel and Jane put a piece of paper with her name and address on it into a bottle.

(2)the Channel=the English Channel(channel如果大写,并且除了the以外没有其他定语时,则指英吉利海峡)。

4.She never thought of it again…

Do you ever think of the girls you met at a party?

5.Both girls write to each other regularly now.

在both girls中,both为形容词;在both of the…

6.Letters will cost a little more, but they will certainly travel faster.

It costs a lot to buy a house.

The dress cost me twenty pounds.

1.I had a letter from my sister yesterday.

2.She lives in Nigeria… We are now living in a beautiful new house in the country.

I enjoy living in the country.

My country is China.

3.If she comes, she will get a surprise.

It’s a surprise to me that they can’t sell their flat.
