一．课程的性质和教学目的
《普通物理》是应用物理学专业第一门重要的专业基础课，是后续专业核心课程《理论力学》、《热力学与统计物理》、《量子力学》、《电动力学》的基础。在物理学专业人才培养中占有十分重要的地位。
开展双语教学是培养具有创新能力、跨文化交流能力和国际竞争能力人才的重要手段和有效途径。本课程以基础物理为平台，以引发学生研究探索兴趣为着眼点，使学生了解和掌握物理学的基本概念和基本规律，具备应用这些基本概念和基本规律解决一般物理问题的能力，培养他们的科学思维能力，并为后续专业核心课程的学习打下坚实的基础。通过中英文双语教学，使学生掌握本学科基本概念和基本规律的书面及口头的英语表达，并初步具备用英语思维和进行交流的能力。
