我的英语不是很好。我的很多同学的英语也不是很好。但众所周知,随着社会的发展,掌握一门外语是越发的重要。于是,两个月前,我报名参加恩波华英学校的英语辅导。这个机构的多位工作人员给我提供了许多关于英语和其他学科学习的建议。

现在,我在恩波华英学习已经20多天了。我已习惯每天早起,然后花至少半个小时读英语,上课时认知听讲,做笔记,下课时仔细复习课堂上所学的内容。有时候,我和同学一起练习说英语。老实说,我现在还很难掌握所有的知识点,但是在老师和同学的帮助下,我的英语已经有了很大的进步。英语张老师很有耐心,一直在鼓励我们,这让我非常感动。要不然,我很难坚持把英语学习下去。正是在这里我找到了学习英语的兴趣和自信。我越有兴趣,我就越能学好英语。

除了紧张的学习,我也会偶尔放松一下自己。长江路上有一家大型的超市,这家超市离我们恩波华英培训中心大约步行五分钟的路程。有一天,我和几个同学去那儿购物。超市里真凉快!里面有各种各样的商品,有些商品的价格很便宜。我挑选了一辆漂亮的红色玩具车,打算送给我的表弟。小玩具车的价格比地摊上的贵五分之二左右,但质量要好一点。

我有信心,只要我努力学习,我明年一定会成功的。

I am not very good at English. Neither are some of my classmates. However, as we all know, with the development of society, it is important for us to master a foreign language. Therefore, I signed up for the English class of Enbo Huaying Training Center two months ago. Many a worker in the center has provided me with much advice on English and other subjects learning.

Till now, I have been in the center for two dozen days. I have been used to getting up early and spending at least half an hour reading English every morning. When having classes, I listen carefully and take down notes in detail. After class, I go over what I have learnt in the class. Sometimes, I practice speaking English with my classmates. To be honest, I have some difficulty mastering all the language points, but helped by the teachers and the classmates, I have made much progress. Mr. ZHANG, our English teacher, is very patient with us and he has been encouraging us to work hard, which makes me deeply moved. But for the very encouragement, I wouldn’t have continued my English learning. It is in this training center that I have found the confidence and interest in learning English. The more interested I become in English, the more likely I am to learn English well.

Not only do I concentrate on my study, but also I relax myself sometimes. There is a supermarket in Changjiang Road. It takes us five minutes to walk there from our training center. The other day, my classmates and I went shopping there. How cool it was in the supermarket! There were various items and goods, some of whose prices are very low. I chose a beautiful red toy car for my cousin, which was two-fifths more expensive than those in the streets, but whose quality is superior.

I have the confidence that only if I work hard, can I succeed in passing the exams.

1. 此处which引导非限定性定语从句,不可替换成that。注意which和that在引导定语从句时,不仅是关系代词作引导词,还在定语从句中做主语或宾语、表语。

2. imaginary意为“虚构的”,注意其同根词imaginative (充满想象力的)、imaginable(能够想象到的)、imagined(被想象的)、imagine(想象)和image(名词:形象)。此处抛砖引玉,请同学们平时背单词时注意单词表中的同根词比较。

3. make up“编造、化妆”。请同学们在背单词时注意常见词组的记忆和比较。如be made from/ be made of / be made up of / make for / make out等。

4. wishing是现在分词,表明前面的名词与其是主动关系。注意非谓语动词、谓语动词的关系。提醒同学们张老师在课堂上“公老虎与母老虎”、“夫妻”、“夫妾”的分析。

5. remind sb of sth“提醒某人某事”。相同的结构有:inform / deprive / rob / accuse / convince sb of sth等。

6. learned表明前面的名词language points与其是被动关系。

7. may倒装结构,表示祝福。

4. as we all know表示“众所周知”,可以改成被动语态As is known to all, …。注意as 引导定语从句和which引导定语从句的区别。

5. with是介词,表示“随着”,引导短语;如用as表示“随着”,则后接从句,因为as 是连词。

6. 注意it is important / necessary / easy/ difficult / convenient / possible for sb to do的表达。但可以说Sb has difficulty (in) doing sth和sb is likely to do sth.

7. therefore是副词,表示“所以”。

8. two months ago是明确的过去时间,谓语动词signed用一般过去时。

9. 注意many a + noun / more than one + noun等做主语时的主谓一致问题。

10. provide sb with sth / provide sth for sb“提供给某人某物”

11. advice / information / news/ equipment / furniture / machinery / scenery/ poetry等不可数名词的用法,区别advice / suggestion; information / news / message; equipment / appliance / instrument / facility; machine / machinery; scene / scenery / poem / poet / poetry

1. have been表示完成时。完成时常和表示一段时间的词汇连接,如这里的“till now”“for …”。现在完成时还可以强调过去的动作对现在的影响,但不能和时间段的词汇连用。对比:He has got married to her. / He has been married to her for three years.

2. two dozen是“两打”,即“24个”。注意dozen, score(二十), hundred, thousand, million 等数词的用法,three dozen; dozens of。另,注意复合形容词中的数词表达a three-year-old boy。

3. 区别be / get used to doing(习惯); used to do(过去曾经); be used to do(被用来。。。)。另,注意归纳英语中常见介词“to”的搭配。

4. 区分spend / take / cost / pay的用法。

5. 词组take down ; in detail; go ove; be patient with; have interest in的用法;注意deep和deeply的区别。

6. 特别注意what引导名词性从句的用法。这里的what引导宾语从句,且在从句中做learn的宾语。

7. 注意英语中哪些动词后接doing,(如practice doing),哪些动词后接to do(如manage to do);哪些动词后接to do和doing都可以,但有区别(如regret to do/ regret doing)。

8. have trouble / difficulty (in) doing sth; it is no use/good doing; be busy (in) doing; sb spends some time/money (in) doing sth.

9. 分析help为什么使用了过去分词helped的形式!原因在于help和主句主语“I”是被动的关系!注意非谓语动词结构和独立主格结构的使用。

10. progress表示“进步”,是不可数名词。

11. has been encouraging has encouraged和现在完成进

“1”的解释。

12. 特别注意这里which的用法,是非限定性定语从句,其先行词是前面整个句子,在翻译时,把该定语从句后置,并且用“这”“如此”来连接前面的主句和后面的从句。

13. moved是从使役动词“move”(使……感动)转变过来,注意使役动词的-ed翻译成“感到…..”和-ing译成“令人……”。其他的使役动词还有excite; tire; bore; interest等。

14. but for“要不是”,引导的虚拟语气。请同学们重点掌握虚拟语气的两大类,即should do原型类和以if为代表的did/had done类。

15. very修饰名词,表示强调。

16. it is …that…的强调句。注意强调“人”,可以把that改成who,强调其他成分时,只能用that。It is …that…强调结构去除时,不影响句子结构。注意it is …that…强调not until 的句型。

17. “the more +主谓结构,the more + 主谓结构”表示“越…..越…..”。注意cannot / can never …too…“越…越…;再…也不为过”。

1. not only…but also…连接两个句子时,not only后的句子要倒装。注意全部倒装和部分倒装的使用。

2. 注意词组concentrate on; relax oneself; be relaxed; be relaxing; the other day(有一天); go shopping; do some shopping; the price is low; be superior to的用法。

3. there be 句型中的be不可换成has/ have“有”。There be有时可以表达为there exists / lie / stand等表示“存在”“出现”的词汇。但,there have been great changes中的“have”是时态的标记,不能译为“有”。

4. how和what引导的感叹句。注意how/ so/ too+adj/adv; what/ such+ noun的用法和so…that…/ such…that…的用法。

5. whose引导定语从句,whose后的名词和前面的先行词有所属关系。Whose prices 也可以表达为the prices of which.

6. 注意a beautiful red toy car中的形容词顺序的问题。另,注意a-表语形容词的用法和形容词的比较级和倍数表达,如two-fifth more expensive than。

2. only if在从句中提前,从句中的句子依然要倒装。

3. 注意let’s和let us,以及祈使句的反义疑问句。另,注意反义疑问句中回答系统的翻译。

4. come on“加油”。注意情景对话中的语义表达,尤其是礼貌性和情景的合适性。常见

场景有:电话用语;见面招呼语;自我介绍;感谢;道歉;邀请;建议;求助等。常见表达如:it doesn’t matter, never mind, with pleasure, my pleasure, out of question, out of the question, come on, go ahead等等。

常用翻译技巧总结 w个人认为,翻译题很重要!考研是个充实自己的过程,只要你还需要英语,就离不开翻译,所以大家应该引起足够重视。 首先个人推荐一本书,XDF唐静老师的《拆分与组合翻译法》,我听过他的课,他的方法很实用,感觉很象下面介绍的第四种方法。 翻译题里考察三方面内容: 1、专有名词(如operational research expert)、习惯用法(如depend on)及多义词 的翻译(如school、set的多义) 2、一般性翻译技巧:包括词义选择,词序调整,词性转换和增词法等等 3、具体句型(定从、状从、主从、宾从、表从、同位从、强调结构、并列、 比较、倒装、插入、被动、否定等) 其中2、3是大考点,具体内容可在论坛下XDF的翻译笔记来看,在此不赘述。 可看出,应对翻译题的主要武器是翻译技巧,下面正式进入正题(常用方法、被动语态译法、形容词译法、举例详解) 一、常用方法 英汉两种语言在句法、词汇、修辞等方面均存在着很大的差异,因此在进行英汉互译时必然会遇到很多困难,需要有一定的翻译技巧作指导。常用的翻译技巧有增译法、省译法、转换法、拆句法、合并法、正译法、反译法、倒置法、包孕法、插入法、重组法和综合法等。这些技巧不但可以运用于笔译之中,也可以运用于口译过程中,而且应该用得更加熟练。 1增译法:指根据英汉两种语言不同的思维方式、语言习惯和表达方式,在翻译时增添一些词、短句或句子,以便更准确地表达出原文所包含的意义。这种方式多半用在汉译英里。汉语无主句较多,而英语句子一般都要有主语,所以在翻译汉语无主句的时候,除了少数可用英语无主句、被动语态或“There be…”结构来翻译以外,一般都要根据语境补出主语,使句子完整。英汉两种语言在名词、代词、连词、介词和冠词的使用方法上也存在很大差别。英语中代词使用频率较高,凡说到人的器官和归某人所有的或与某人有关的事物时,必须在前面加上物主代词。因此,在汉译英时需要增补物主代词,而在英译汉时又需要根据情况适当地删减。英语词与词、词组与词组以及句子与句子的逻辑关系一般用连词来表示,而汉语则往往通过上下文和语序来表示这种关系。因此,在汉译英时常常需要增补连词。英语句子离不开介词和冠词。另外,在翻译时还要注意增补一些原文中暗含而没有明言的词语和一些概括性、注释性的词语,以确保译文意思的完整。总之,通过增译,一是保证译文语法结构的完整,二是保证译文意思的明确。如: (1) What about calling him right away? 马上给他打个电话,你觉得如何?(增译主语和谓语) (2) If only I could see the realization of the four modernizations. 要是我能看到四个现代化实现该有多好啊!(增译主句) (3) Indeed, the reverse is true 实际情况恰好相反。(增译名词) (4)就是法西斯国家本国的人民也被剥夺了人权。 Even the people in the fascist countries were stripped of their human rights.(增译物主代词)
