这本第五版重点在光盘上，印刷版反而成了配角。证据如，collocation 的数据，印刷版收录 65,000 笔，光盘上多给了 82,000 笔；Synonym
数据，印刷版收录 18,000 笔，光盘多给 30,000 笔数据。光看这些，就足够把印刷版的使用者全部赶到光盘上了。光盘部分，由原来的两张 CD-ROM
变成一张 DVD-ROM。实质内容的增加，明显可以感受得到。LDOCE5 的 front matter 更直接说明了
以两片光盘容纳辞典内容，除了 OED 之外，就是 LDOCE4v2。现在这一新版更扩而大之，用起 DVD-ROM 来了。如我之前说的，安装后的数据容量，从
1.14GB 扩大到 2.31GB，大约相当四张 CD-ROM 的容量。
