一、课程的性质与任务

课程性质:学科(专业)基础必修课

课程任务:综合英语(7)课程是综合英语(1-6)课程的延续,对学生的听、说、读、写、译等技能提出更高的培养要求。本课程更注重阅读和写作技能的训练,更强调加强学生的创造力,要求学生从有控制的练习过渡到自然的交际。高级英语课程为学习者提供大量的语言材料,加深他们对语言知识的理解,为使用语言打下扎实的基础。这门课程决定了本专业其它专业课程如:英美文学、语言学和翻译等能否顺利开展。

四、大纲说明

教学手段及教学方法建议

目前,本教材的课堂教学,教师基本上采用启发式教学模式,引导学生独立学习、独立思考,培养学生的逻辑思维能力。在条件允许的情况下,教师可以根据多种手段组织教学。讲授以英语解释为主,对于难句和难以理解的词汇、短语也可以用翻译的方法。

本教材选材范围广泛,以扩大学生的文化知识面并使学生熟悉不同的文体。本课程通过阅读和分析内容广泛的材料,包括涉及政治、经济、社会、语言、文学、教育、哲学等方面的名家作品,扩大学生知识面,加深学生对社会和人生的理解,培养学生对名篇的分析和欣赏能力、逻辑思维与独立思考的能力,巩固和提高学生英语语言技能。

本教材配有大量的练习,以巩固和扩大学生的语言知识,继续打好语言基本功。这些相关练习,包括阅读理解、词句释意、文体分析、改正错误、篇章结构和写作练习等方面,使学生的英语综合技能得到进一步的训练和提高。

教学方法建议:在条件允许的话,(1)建议教学通过多媒体方式进行以增加信息量,同时可以辅以网络手段以拓展课堂空间。(2)教师应该发挥学生的主动能动性,给予学生一定的自学空间,培养学生借助传统工具书以及现代计算机手段解决问题、独立工作的能力。切忌教师包揽一切工作,在课堂上满堂灌。(3)条件允许的话,可以采用语料库实验方法辅助高级英语教学,通过假设、调查、验证、总结归纳等,培养学生探索型和研究型的学习能力,增强高级英语学习的效果。

考核方式建议

综合英语(7)考试着重考核学生对所学英语知识的掌握情况和运用语言的实际能力。考试主要采取笔试的形式,在每个期末安排一次考试,考试项目可以灵活多样,同时参照专业8级考试题型。考试内容课本内外相结合。考试成绩按照百分制记载,总分为100分,学

期总成绩按一定比例折算:平时成绩占30%,期末考试成绩70%。学生平时成绩主要由书面作业、课堂作业、课文活动、考勤和课堂纪律、平时测验、8级模拟考试等多方面来折算和鉴定。
