【试题总评】

2014年湖南高考英语试题的试卷结构与以往一致,试题在选材和命制等方面沿袭了历年来命题风格。试题总体难度适中,在考查考生英语语言知识和语言技能的基础上,突出考查语言运用能力,尤其是运用英语获取信息、处理信息以及分析问题、解决问题的能力。强调语篇意识。注重语言的实用性、交际性、人文性、时代性和思想性,重视对考生文化意识、情感态度等综合人文素养的考查。

单项选择题测试要点全部是常见的基本语法知识。分别考查:非谓语动词(21、23、27、35题)、虚拟语气(22题)、名词性从句(24题)、连词(26题)、时态语态(28、34题)、情态动词(25题)、倒装结构(29题)、强调结构(33题)、主谓一致(32题)。整体侧重对动词的考查力度,没有偏题和难题。

完形填空I的体裁是一篇记叙文。作者讲述了在上大学的前夕,妈妈教他烫衣服的故事。语篇中的语义连贯性与逻辑关系是考查的重点。考查的词全部为实词,考查名词题目4道,动词题目4道,形容词副词题目4道。值得注意的是42和47题均考查动词短语,这是往年比较少见的。

完形填空II的体裁为说明文,作者就处理好与邻里的关系提出了一些建议。此题考查“虚词”的意图十分明显,并增加了对连词的考查。

阅读理解体裁多样,涉及应用文、记叙文和说明文,文体话题涉及写作培训,上学经历和能源节约等。文章总体难易适中,侧重考查细节理解,注重考查学生获取和处理主要信息的能力。

阅读填空题文体为说明文,图表结构是总分框架结构。难度为中等。内容上主要介绍了快乐度假的好处、度假规划时常犯的错误及快乐度假时的黄金规则等信息。

阅读简答题为记叙文。讲述了一位少年为保护湿地和孩子们的游乐空间所做出的努力。难度属于较易难度,四个题目全部考查细节。

书面表达题目要求考生以“My Magic______”为题写一篇英语短文,介绍自己的一个创意。命题新颖且贴近学生生活,学生不但要具备英语语言表达能力,而且还要具备一定的科技创新能力。

Led by comedy and TV writer, Marian Kilpatrick, Towner Writer Squad will meet once a month at the contemporary art museum for 11 months, starting 12 October, 2014.

In the mid-1950s, I was a somewhat bored early-adolescent male student who believed that doing any more than necessary was wasted effort. One day, this approach threw me into embarrassment.

Our teacher typically assigned daily homework, which would be recited in class the following day. On most days, our grades were based on our oral answer to homework questions.

Mrs. Totten usually walked up and down the rows of desks requesting answers from student after student in the order the questions had appeared on our homework sheets. She would start either at the front or the back of the classroom and work toward the other end.

Since I was seated near the middle of about 35 students, it was easy to figure out which questions I might have to answer. This particular time, I had completed my usual two or three problems according to my calculations.

What I failed to expect was that several students were absent, which threw off my estimate. As Mrs. Totten made her way from the be ginning of the class,I desperately tried to determine which math problem I would get. I tried to work it out before she got to me, but I had brain freeze and couldn’t function.

When Mrs. Totten reached my desk,she asked what answer I’d got for problem No. 14. “I…I didn’t get anything,”I answered,and my face felt warm.

“Correct,” she said.

It turned out that the correct answer was zero.

What did I learn that day? First, always do all your homework. Second, in real life it isn’t always what you say but how you say it that matters. Third,I would never make it as a mathematician.

The behaviour of a building’s users may be at least as important as its design when it comes to energy use, according to new research from the UK Energy Research Centre (UKERC). But this report shows that sustainable building design on its own — though extremely important- is not enough to achieve such reductions: the behaviour of the people using the building has to change too.
