本文由rayleelily贡献 pdf文档可能在WAP端浏览体验不佳。建议您优先选择TXT，或下载源文件到本机查看。 基于关联理论视角看《阿甘正传》的中文字幕翻译 ●郑禄英（井冈山大学外国语学院，江西吉安３４３００９） ｆ摘要】 由于影视作品自身的特殊性，影视字幕的翻译与传统的文学翻译不同。自从Ｇｕｔｔ提出关联理论以来， 关联理论引起了国内译界广泛关注与浓厚兴趣，并广泛地应用于翻译理论与翻译实践当中。本文以电影《阿甘正传＞的中文字幕翻译为蓝本，在关联理论观的指导下，详细论证了浓缩、省略、补充、归化、归纳几种字幕翻译 方法。 【关键词】 关联理论；字幕翻译；＜阿甘正传＞ １９９５年，＜阿甘正传》在第六十七届奥斯卡金像奖最佳影片的角逐中一举获得了最佳影片、最佳男主角、最佳导演、最佳编剧等六项大奖。影片通过对一个智障者走向成功的生活攒述。反映了美国生活的方方面面，从一个独特的视角对美国几十年来社会政治生活的墓要事件作了展现。下面笔者从关联翻译理论视角，分析《阿甘正传》字幕翻译中使用的几类翻译方法。 示，且意义重复、关联性不强的信息进行省略。译者出于一定的考虑，对一些晦涩生僻的文化意象在不影响读者理解的前提下，采取省略不译的方法，以减少读者不必要的推理努力。 例３：Ｓｈｅｌｉｖｅｄｉｎ ａ ｈｏｕｓｅｔｈａｔ ｗａｓａｓｏｌｄａｓＡｌａｂａｍａ．姥 住的房子非常古老。“Ａｌａｂａｍａ”是美国南部的一个洲，相传很早以前就有居民居住在那儿，１７０２年曾作为法国的殖民地。短语“ａｓｏｌｄ幽Ａｌａｂａｍａ”在句中用来形容Ｊｅｎｎｙ居住房屋的非常古老。“非常古老”是观众们需要从电影中获得的信息。但是如果翻译时把它原原本本地译成中文，不仅颇费周章、篇幅冗长，而且造成目的语观众理解上的困扰。因而，译者对“Ａｌａｂａｍａ”这一词省略不译，即节省了画面空间，又不妨碍观众理解整句话的意义。 饲４：Ｗｏｕｌｄｙｏｕｍａｒｒｙｍｅ。Ｆｏｒｒｅｓｔ？你会娶我吗？ 一、浓缩法 字幕翻译被称为“保持均衡的艺术”，是受制约的魏译。因为一般从口语对白到文字的转换中，原文就要缩减‘１／３。通常说话速度越快，信息压缩量越大。字幕翻译者需要在“对信息接受者的认知力的判断基础上。对信息接受者在有限的时空中的认知活动中无关紧要甚至毫不相关的信息可进行删减节略，以凸显相关性更强的信息”（李运兴，２００１：３９）。因此，时空制约决定了字幕译者必须采用浓缩法，以突出主要信息。浓缩法一般包括省略和压缩两种，浓缩尽量保持原电影的精髓部分，让观众有足够时间欣赏电影画面。１．压缩法 例１：Ｓｐｌｉｔｅｖｅｒｙｔｈｉｎｇｒｉｇｈｔｄｏｗｎｔｈｅｍｉｄｄｌｅ．Ｍａｎ．Ｉ＇ｍ ｔｅｌｌｉｎｇ 此例句中“Ｆｏｒｒｅｓｔ”在中文字幕中被省略了，因为在电影画面中，我们清楚地

2011年第16期 自改革开放以来，越来越多的国外影视作品搬上了中国的屏幕。近年来，随着DVD的普及和互联网络的发展，人们欣赏到的国外影视作品已经从屈指可数到数不胜数。由于这些引入的影视作品数量之大、速度更新之快，字幕翻译逐渐成为一种相当重要的影视翻译方式。著名影视翻译专家钱绍昌教授在2000年发表的论文《影视翻译——翻译园地中愈来愈重要的领域》中指出：“如今译制片受众的数量远远超过翻译文学作品受众的数量，影视翻译对社会的影响也决不在文学翻译之下。”因此，字幕翻译逐渐成为一个重要的翻译研究领域。 一、字幕翻译的特点和相应的翻译策略 字幕翻译，即原声口语浓缩的书面译文（Nedergaard-Larsen，1993）。字幕翻译是一种特殊的翻译形式，介于口译和笔译之间，它具有以下三个特点。第一，从符号构成上看，字幕翻译属于多元符号翻译，观众接受的影视作品包括多个信息渠道，即原语对话、背景音乐、背景歌词、其他声音效果、画面和屏幕上的书面符号以及目的语字幕。因此，字幕和其他渠道的信息共同构成了完整的信息输入。第二，字幕占据了屏幕的一定空间，但要保证不能对画面形成干扰。第三，字幕在屏幕上出现和消失的时间要与原语出现和结束（或屏幕上说话人开始说话和结束）的时间基本一致，即同步性。 这三个特点构成了字幕翻译的优势和制约。从优势上讲，多种渠道的信息输入对字幕信息构成了补充。从制约上讲，字幕和画面的同一空间性限制了字幕的字数和排数；字幕与原声的同步性限制了字幕在屏幕上的停留时间长度。这些字幕翻译所特有的制约和优势决定了此类翻译的核心原则，即保证观众用最小的努力获得最相关的信息。所以，本文提出三种相应的翻译策略，包括缩减法、语义明晰法以及文化词翻译的阻断法和归化法。下面以电影《阿甘正传》为案例，具体阐释这些翻译策略的使用。 二、个案分析 1.语义明晰法 语义明晰法包括两种情况。第一种情况，因为文化差异，原语观众一目了然的内容却让译入语文化的观众感到茫然。此时，译者需要通过增词、解释、改译等策略将原文暗含的信息明示。 例（1）：影片的一个片段里有两名黑人学生要在阿甘所在的阿拉巴马州州立大学注册，遭到州长华莱士在校门口张臂阻止。于是，美国总统肯尼迪派遣国民警卫队前去护送黑人入校。这个片段的文化背景是美国在六十年代掀起的现代民权运动，全国各地开始贯彻黑白同校的平等人权原则。 TV：Federal troops，enforcing a court order，integrated the University of Alabama today. 译文：联邦派军队强制执行法院命令，使阿拉巴马大学黑白同校。 此句中的“integrate”若是直译为“整合”，显然大部分中国观众会因为不知道电影中的历史背景而不理解“整合”的具体意思，所以译文处理为“黑白同校”，弥补了译入语观众的文化空缺。 语义明晰法的第二种情况是指将长句拆分为短句，通过结构上的简化更加清晰地呈现字幕内容。 例（2）：阿甘退役后，拿着自己做乒乓球拍代言人的钱来到巴布的墓碑前，告诉他自己将要用这些钱开始捕虾事业，实现巴布的梦想。 Forrest：I’m taking $24，562.47 that I got，that’s left after a new hair cut and a new suit and took Mama out to a real fancy dinner and I bought a bus ticket，then three Dr. Peppers. 译文：我带来2万4562零47元钱，这是我所有的钱，其他钱用来理发和买新衣服，还有带妈妈上街吃了一顿好饭，还买了车票，还买了三瓶汽水。 这一句话很长，因为阿甘非常详细地在巴布的墓碑前交代了每一笔钱的用处，这非常符合他诚实憨厚的性格。如果按照原句直译为“我带来了我所有的钱，一共是两万四千五百六十二块四毛七分，这是我剪了头发，买了新西装，带妈妈吃了一顿大餐，买了一张汽车票和三瓶汽水后剩下的钱。”显然过长的定语不符合中文的行文，同时增加理解的难度。拆分后的译文更加简短，逻辑更加清晰，减少了观众的信息负担，也方便了字幕的呈现。 2.缩减法 缩减法是字幕翻译中一个非常重要的策略，这是由字幕翻译中空间和时间的制约因素所决定的。浓缩、删除、从略等策略可以在不影响观众理解的前提下有效地减少字幕的字数，从而更好地保证字幕的有效性。缩减法包括浓缩，即只保留原句的精髓要旨；删除，即“在译者对信息接受者的认知能力判断上，对信息接受者在有限时空中的认知活动无关紧要甚至毫不相关的信息，可进行删减，以突显相关性更强的信息；对信息接受者固有的认知结构缺乏，而在有限时空中无法补充的信息，可从略；对画面或音乐已经提供了充分语境的信息亦可考虑进行缩减。”（李运兴，2001）例（1）：阿甘坐在路边的长凳上，一面等车，一面跟旁边等车的乘客讲自己的故事。他旁边那位带着小孩的母亲提起自己大学时读的是男女混合学校，这让阿甘想起了当年读大学是的珍妮，他说：Forrest：Jenny went to a college I couldn’t go to.
