四、写作

TASK1

The chart compares the resources used to make1000disposable cups in different materials polystyrene and paper.(Word counts:168)The bar chart illustrates the quantity of different resources consumed to make1,000polystyrene and paper cups.To product1,000polystyrene cups needs8kg of petroleum and 13kg of other chemicals. These two elements are heated with130kg steam, which is ten times as much as other chemicals. This process is rather energy-efficient, only costing0.6m3of water and6kilowatts of electricity. However,in the process of making1,000paper cups, the usage amount of water and electricity is more than ten times than that in the process of making polystyrene. It also requires

more petroleum, more than twice as polystyrene cups.It is worth mentioning that the production of paper cups doesn’t need much other chemicals and steam. The amount of other chemicals is less than two thirds of that in polystyrene cups.Overall, the production of polystyrene cups is environmentally friendly, because it costs less energy and doesn’t need any wood,while1,000paper cups almost needs220kg of wood.

TASK2

题目类别:交通类

提问方式:观点类

考试题目:Some people argue that building the underground railway system can ease the pressure on the transport system, while others think building or broadening roads can achieve this.Discuss both views and give your own opinion?(Word count:275)It is quite common today for metropolis to build underground rail network to reduce traffic congestion. While building or broadening roads might seem to be a practical suggest at first,I believe, the construction of railway system is a more effective way. There is no doubt that the building of new and wider roads can,to some extent, address the traffic congestion. If wider roads were built in city centers, the road capacity would accommodate more cars to drive at the same time and as a two-lane road becomes a four-lane road,it is less likely for a traffic jam to occur if the number of private cars remains the same.Similarly, were there an increasing number of roads, drivers would have more paths to choose from instead of sticking to the major lane. Therefore, less cars would be stuck at the peak hour when commuting.Constructing metro system is another approach to solve the problem because it attracts more commuters to take it.Firstly, the underground railway is well-known for its safety compared to driving on the roads.Apart from that, when taking underground railway, passengers have the control over the time they arrive at their destinations. For example,a staff whose working hour begins at9o’clock can determine the exact time when he should step out of his home after taking the subway for several times. It is the safety and the sense of control that make more people prefer to commute by rail network rather than by car.In my

view, the underground rail system is a much better choice.Even though building wider roads and new lanes may have positive effects on traffic congestion,it merely solves the problem for a short time,as the same issue occurs when the number of cars overwhelm the road capacity. The metro system, however, can significantly relieve the traffic congestion by channeling more people to take the public transport instead of driving.

2019年12月17日雅思大作文真题及范文 Task:Some people think getting old is entirely bad, but other people do think it’s much better for old people to live now than in the past. Please show your idea with explanation, examples and your knowledge. Sample answer: It has become a common phenomenon for people in a number of countries to enjoy an increasing life expectancy. While some people believe it is horrible just to imagine getting old , I think the situation has completely changed comparing to decades ago and now elderly people can lead a happy life. In some cases, the seniors do experience empty nest syndrome because their children are away from home. However, things are different nowadays. There are numerous residential homes with trained carers in a country and they have become a perfect place for the elderly to stay after retirement, where the elderly will not feel lonely and bored with the company of their peers. Another concern for numerous senior citizens is the health problem. In the past, without advanced medical science, the seniors tend to suffer from various kinds of diseases, which decrease their quality of life at great extent. By contrast, the medical science is developing at an amazing speed and this trend can at least delay the onset of some chronic conditions and with healthy body, the elderly can enjoy happier lives.

Does advantage outweigh disadvantages?

题目分析: 题目类型:社会类 提问方式:优缺点类 Parental leave is an employee benefit applied for most current careers around the world, albeit they are distributed differently in terms of time scale and payment. In my opinion, maximizing such welfare stipulated by laws can create long term benefits for both individual family and the society itself. First, once the law is considering maternity leave and taking care of a child is a responsibility, gender equality can reach a consensus. Although a newborn does not contribute to the company where his or her mother is working for directly, this has positive impacts on the entire society, because a sense of happiness and security is encouraged for this particular family. Therefore, women are no longer worrying about the possibility of losing their jobs, and they are respected by both their partners and the society. Another gift for this law is the reduction of occupational sex segregation risk. In fact,if women take long parental leaves,it would be easy to predict
