考点分析:常以单项选择题、完型填空的方式考察。

全解:“by+动词ing”形式在句子中作状语,表示方式、手段、方法等,by在此结构中有“通过借助,用(某种方式或方法)”等含义。此外,“by+动词ing”形式常用来回答how的特殊疑问句。

例子:Mr.Green makes a living by teaching.格林先生以教书为主

1.What about ?意为···怎么样?相当于how about···?常用来征求对方的意见或向对方提出建议。About 是介词,其后可接名词、代词或动词ing形式。固定搭配:what about doing sth

2.只有practice doing sth.“练习做某事”的结构,没有practice to do sth.的结构

3.try to do sth.试图做某事,尽力做某事,表示想尽一切办法做某事,此结构在写作中经常用。Try doing sth尝试做某事,表示试着做做看。
