a. Some people say that we will read news o

n a television screen instead of in newspapers. Moreover, electronic mail will replace letters and books will be contained on compact discs. But will all this really happen? There are good reasons why ink and paper will survive. For example, a large newspaper would have to be displayed on a large number of screens if we wanted to see all of it at once. Different texts can be compared on a screen but there are practical difficulties. However, the main reason why people will always prefer paper is that humans do not want cold and logical information. In addition, it is enjoyable when looking at a book to find pieces of information that one is not looking for. Another reason is that electronic information is efficient, but it does not provide interesting surprises; and reading in the old way is simply enjoyable. Finally, there is no pleasure to the senses of touch or smell with a home computer. So, the electronic revolution will not affect the author.
